Japanese Mountain Retreat Mineral Springs & Spa

An expensive experience, and I'd definitely reserve it for special occasions, but it was incredible. The mineral spa was serene, and bigger than expected, and the food was so good you wanted to savour every bite. The tea was divine, and the cocktail we tried was well worthwhile.

Absolutely fantastic experience with my girlfriend. The only criticism I have of the place is for the hot springs there alarms need to be more louder or recognisable as we stayed in the hotspring longer than what we payed for on accident.

My wife and I were gifted the spa and lunch package for our engagement. We finally had the opportunity to visit today and it was a fantastic experience. Staff were friendly and polite. Spa was really relaxing. Lunch was delicious. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience out of my expectation, will certainly come back. Recommend the Balinese suite, it has a private hot spa outdoor, big living room with two single beds, big sofa, fridge full of free snacks and drinks. Traditional Japanese breakfast, 6 courses dinner, and oil massage. Absolutely deserve the price!

My partner and I came down from Sydney for my birthday weekend purely to come here. Wow - it did not disappoint. We’ve been wanting to have a private Japanese onsen experience and we are so pleased to be blown away at The Mountain Retreat.

We were able to get a massage and onsen and came out feeling extremely refreshed especially as Melbourne’s weather is getting colder. It was such a well organised placed and places your experience at the forefront of their minds. Extremely clean and well serviced! Next time, we’ll definitely stay here longer!

Extraordinarily poor customer service, cheapens the entire experience. Staff would benefit from customer service training. Would not recommend or return.

Spent a quiet anniversary in January here. Surrounding was manicured, decent cuisines catered, and friendly staff. Small faults found on cleanliness and floor heating failure, but soon followed by apologetic staff with complimentary gift voucher for two.

My partner and I had a lovely relaxing time here. The food was amazing and the rooms were perfect especially the hot tubs and jacuzzi. Staff were very nice and accommodating especially Amanda and Mike the lady dinning staff were absolute gems and the young gentleman serving us made the best coffees and was very professional. The Roman bathhouse was our favourite and the spa massages were beautiful. Thanks again for having us. Rachael and Shaun

ITS WAS THE OPPOSITE FROM RELAXATION, AND THE HONORS OF THIS PLACE MADE IT WORSE!
I AM REALLY NOT RECOMMENDING NO ONE TO SPEND 550 DOLLARS ON THIS PLACE!
WHILE THE MASSAGE AND THE BATH, WE HAD STRONG NOISE OF CONSTRUCTION.

Beautifully serene, the mountain retreat is exactly that. It is a retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life, and gives you a chance to breathe in some cool, crisp air.

We first had a thoughtfully curated Japanese 3 course meal. It was a lot more food than we thought we'd get, and we were quite full by the end. So delicious! Our personal favourite was the pork belly - it melts in your mouth!

The private bathing areas are absolutely gorgeous, and feature a lot more space and amenities than other private baths which charge the same price.

We especially loved the Cabana and how open the bath was. We had a bit of rain while we were there, but as the water was so warm, this was actually a very welcome relief.

I would definitely recommend this, and look forward to returning some day to try another one of the baths!

This was the most amazing experience of total immersion.into tranquility and peace. Special thank you to my massage therapist Eileen (Poh) her massage treatment transported me to another dimension. She was professional, attentive and delightful. My daughter and I will be back soon.

it is a bit pricey however it is worth and you get your own privacy!
The Japanese lunch set was really yummy and fill up my tummy so full!

It was a realy nice spot but very expensive for what you get. We got mucked around at reception with the booking but staff were generally friendly.
