Italy 1 @ Camberwell

The food was nice but is not BYO. A bit over priced for pasta, my thoughts were and $16 for a glass of wine is a bit much. I guess the rental costs on Burke Rd Camberwell is expensive which is why they charge such high prices.

Excellent customer service and the food was sooo good, just like Nonna used to make! Will definitely be back.

Good food and a fitting environment but not sure it's value for money. We will still go back but not quickly.

With Risotto this good, I’m not sure why they serve anything else.

Had the scallop entrée and it was really delicious. The textures were really great with the soft scallop and the crispy bits on top. Calamari was nice, nothing to write home about.

The risotto though was delectable. Excellent balance of creaminess and a tinge of spice. The seafood tasted very fresh too and proportion was even.

Will definitely return to try the duck risotto

Really enjoyed the service and food. Be aware very expensive for small meals.
Two main courses and two glasses if wine $130.00.
Had better at five star restaurants for less money. Very busy and noisy.so not good for a quiet cozy dining.

The staff were excellent as was the food but the venue was so packed with tables making it impossible to have a private conversation or move without hitting other chairs and people. Won't be going back

Really disappointed. Really awful service. They made a wrong order and ask customer “are u sure what‘s u order ？？？”

I made a reservation to Italy 1 online from their website straight after lockdown ended in Melbourne, to celebrate our friend's birthday.   We made the booking for 6: 30pm with the notification that it was a 2 hour sitting via email.

We arrived at the restaurant at 6: 23pm, and were seated at our table. We literally had the menus in our hands as soon as we sat down and our waitress "Misty Rose" advised us that we 'have to order quickly as we are so late'. Our meals arrived quickly and were tasty, but nothing spectacular. The table was soon cleared, when Misty Rose told us that because we were late (again) we couldn't order some of the desserts on the menu because "they take too long to cook and you don't have enough time".

It was at this point that I advised her that our booking was for 6: 30pm and we had another hour of dining.   Unfortunately Misty Rose who has no customer service skills whatsoever, told me that there was no way I could book for 6: 30pm on a Friday or Saturday night and I would have got a phone call to tell me (which obviously I did not).   I showed her the email I received and she then said she would get the Manager to speak with me.

Alberto arrived and said that they had had some issues with Open Table, but I would have received an email to advise we had to be out by 8pm (which I did not) After some discussion, he then went away to "check something" so we decided we would leave.   He then rushed back to tell us we could have the table until 8: 30pm - but by this point, we were way over the whole experience.   Misty Rose then asked us if we wanted any dessert? Ummm, no.   She then started babbling, you know, as you do when you know you've lied and stuffed up.and started blaming everyone under the sun for the unfortunate circumstance.   As I said to her, she and Alberto, had ruined our entire evening, to what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration.

If we were supposedly late in their eyes, why didn't they call us to see if we were still coming if we were 30 minutes late?   Why didn't Alberto, upon greeting us at the door upon our arrival say, your booking was for 6pm, so it may be a little rushed now. Is that ok? At no point, did they offer us, the customer, anything to make our evening more enjoyable.   We were thinking, they could offer us our drinks on the house or even offer us a discount to come back to try again at their restaurant. Alas, Misty Rose reminded us that when we said we were leaving " but you still have to pay! "  What a way to end the evening!

Honestly, there are 100 Italian Restaurants in Melbourne that are 100% better than this one, so don't bother wasting your time or money here.

Cosy Italian ambience, timeless design (brilliantly done by Rick Davis.) Wine list was excellent. 6 people dining, 6 different main courses, each one was artfully prepared and presented, all looked divine, and according to everyone there, was spectacular. Thank you for a great experience.

Food was great but service was terrible. In a hurry to get us out from the moment we sat down so the next booking could have the table (even though we arrived on time and had the table for 2 hours). And even in the rushed service we were told unless we ordered one dessert item in the next 2 mins we couldn't have it at all. Not a great way to spend $365 on dinner. We won't ever go back.

Beautiful atmosphere, food & great service. Friendly staff but can get loud with a full house, worth a visit

We spent a lovely day celebrating our 10th anniversary and finished off the day dining at Italy 1. I grew up in Camberwell but never took the opportunity to dine here. Can i just say I had the best ever linguine marinara. The sauce, pasta and seafood were delectable. I would normally ask for parmesan with my pasta but parmesan would have spoiled the flavours. We will definitely come again.

Very underwhelming and overpriced menu. Hand made egg pasta was wafer thin and could hardly taste it over the drowning of cheese. Other glowing reviews on here obviously haven't been out much. There's much better Italian restaurants out there and without the hefty price.

What a meal! Do yourself a favour and get the linguini marinara. Superior to any other version of the dish I've had anywhere. Also, the service was incredible. We will certainly be back very soon.

We had the most sumptuous anniversary dinner at Italy 1 last night. What a treat. Wonderful food, lovely service and a great atmosphere. The place was abuzz on a Monday night. I highly encourage you to spoil yourself at this fine establishment.

Quality service and attentive managers that know how to keep a customer happy. The Panna cotta with pear was exceptional. Great ambiance and options of indoor and outdoor dining.
