Italian Artisans reviews
56I think it's the best Pizza and ambiance place in Melbourne, i know it's a big call you must try it, the pizza it's Not acidity cooked to perfection beautiful Dough i will go back over and over again wine list beautiful Italian Vino my opinion you can't go wrong JUST PERFECT
Beautiful food and great service we have really enjoyed our evening thank you for everything
Best Pizza in Melbourne, the DOP and Porcini Pizza are just so devine. It's like having pizza in the heart of Italy.
We hosted out son's Baptism at iTALiAN ARTiSANS and where do we begin. A+ hospitality from the first time I spoke with Eleonora on the phone to enquire. Eleonora, Guvan, Marcella and Tony made our family celebration feel like we were hosting it at a relative's home - plenty of food, care and familiarity. Nothing was too much for this amazing team. They took care of everything and made everyone feel welcome. The FOOD! Delicious and nonna-approved. Finally, the true passion for hospitality really showed, it was personal and genuine. We look forward to returning for future family events and spontaneous weekly dinners. Grazie mille, Famiglia Mercuri xx
Wow! What amazing food, service and ambiance. We celebrated a family occasion and everyone was only too willing to serve fresh, seasonal produce and delicious pizza! Thank you all for your incredible dedication to cooking, presentation of food, the service and generosity towards all who dined today. We were well looked after by everyone. Grazie mille.
THE BEST ITALIAN PIZZAS IN MELBOURNE!
Fresh ingredients, very good service and beautiful place.
I’ve been there many times always having my favorite pizza The Riserva and I'll keep going there.
100% RECOMMENDED
Impeccable, excellent service, staff went beyond every expectation (received free welcome drinks because we arrive too early for our bookings). We ordered the special pizza, piccolo salami board and lasagna. Pizzas are the most famous, we ate everything even the pizza crust (normally we dont) which is thin, light and yum! Not to mention their special chilly oil to pair with the pizza which adds and lift up the flavour (please ask for it, please please please. Its the best chilly oil for me, very special homemade taste). The salumi board is yum also, with very high quality mortadella, chorizo and prosciutto (not that salty type). 5/5 meal! Will recommends to our friends!
Tasty Italian-style pizza with great quality.we had an amazing dinner in the nice environment of the restaurant and enjoyed the delicious pizza. The staff was super friendly with professional customer service.
These guys sure know how to make an amazing pizza. Equally amazing appetisers, salads and great quality wines.
A great authentic Italian pizza. Everything is Italian inspired from the staff to the amazing pizza's. Just like Italy but here in the heart of Melbourne. Highly recommend
Great Italian in Albert Park. Food and service are very good. From the same people as DOC, which is an institution. Recommend.
Absolutely delicious - the dough of the pizza was so yummy! Loved it and can’t wait to return. A must if you love a good pizza.
Dined here at a local Italian pizza restaurant and ordered the DOP pizza; a classic with San Marzano tomato sauce, fresh buffalo mozzarella, basil and EVO oil. The base was very thin but was still able to hold the toppings and the crust was soft with a pleasant chew to it. Tomato was sweet with a hint of tartness, and each slice had a large full bite of buffalo mozzarella; very tasty. Also had the Nutella calzone which was cooked well with enough oozing Nutella to go with the soft pizza dough crust; and the vanilla bean gelato paired well to balance the richness of the Nutella. Overall a delicious pizza; crust was not tough even till the last piece. Service was also great.
I was hesitant to write this review because this place is a hidden local gem and worried it'll be hard to get a booking in the future!
Our first time here, we actually went twice, two days in a row with another person, the staff was a bit confused at first since they thought it was an error in the system. Since discovering this restaurant, this has been the go-to spot for date nights or just damn good Italian pizza.
The restaurant has a good buzz, it's lively and full of locals with a mix of couples, families and just people enjoying an evening out with good company and food.
The staff were all pleasant in our interaction - friendly and accommodating. It looks like everyone was having fun while they were working and enjoyed the friendly banter with their regular customers. We usually didn't wait too long to get a table when we visited, highly recommend booking so you don't wait on busier days.
Seating
There's outdoor seating available in the front, more quiet and private compared to inside the restaurant, there's also a covered outdoor area in the back of the restaurant but that area wasn't being used so can't comment what the experience will be there. Inside there's multiple seating available, catering to couples to families.
Food
I'm going to just come out and say this place makes the best pizza in Melbourne - period. Tried other award-winning pizza restaurants and have always left wanting more. The pizza here are made with high-quality ingredients, the star of the show here is definitely the pizza base. In my opinion, it strikes a perfect balance between crispy, airy and slightly chewy crust. I know most people don't rate pizza based on the base but like a good house, you need a solid foundation.
If you're having leftover pizza, recommend reheating it in the oven and if you have a cast-iron pan, highly recommend reheating the pizza on the cast iron pan first and putting it in the oven to finish, your taste buds will thank you.
Antipasti items for the one that we've tried were really good, highly recommend the Focaccia, Piccolo Antipasto, Amalfi Coast Anchovies to share. You can tell all the items sourced were from quality ingredients and suppliers.
Drinks
Great selection of Italian wine and beer available to enjoy, all displayed in front of the restaurant which gives you a bit of time to explore while you wait for your table. I believe most of the wines are available to take away along with some of the fine Italian goods you can takeaway, i.e. Pasta, salt, olive oil, etc.
Hope you all enjoy the mini-review, just don't eat all the pizza!
Some of the best Italian food in Melbourne! Wholesome and authentic place with a super friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Very cute place! Good and friendly service.love the food too.
I gave them a 5 stars for the experience when I was there.
However I was quite disappointed with the follow up to celebrate my birthday
2 staff members gave me a different quote for the price per person. One was right, exactly the same with the menu and other one was giving me more than the price listed on the menu. Just didn’t feel right, I decided to celebrate my birthday somewhere else
Anyway it was a great food over there:)
4th visit to Italian artisans. I absolutely adore the pizzas & salads when dining in. Delicious. Had one bad experience with takeaway a few months ago, but must put that down to a bad day. The only thing that disappoints is that they do not offer a gluten free pizza base option, which means we cannot pick here to host a whole family meal. It would torment the celiac of the family, to watch us eat such delicious pizzas, while she has choice of only salad or 2 pasta dishes for main. It is disappointing for a restaurant within metro Melbourne not to have gluten free pizza option. Appreciate probably not 'traditional', or quote as tasty, but catering well to this market would make you stand out from the crowd of great italian restaurants. Perhaps they will explore this in the future.
Book ahead. Next generation pizzas. The pizza is next level Don’t worry the menu is divine check it out. What you want on pizza. Organic seasonal ingredients and grains. Techniques. As for the tiramisu the goats cheese took that to a “whole nuther level. “. Doesn’t matter where you live- worth the drive. Bravo team
You have never eaten pizza this pure - it’s next level. Prebook. Worth driving from anywhere. The goats cheese tiramisu
Love at first sight! Sad we couldn’t dine in because of Covid but the restaurant looks amazing! As for Pizza, I don’t think I’d ever get my pizza from anywhere else.
