Amazing food - could not believe how delicious the vegan barramundi was incredible, would definitely recommend!

Beautiful restaurant in a fantastic location. Great to see a fully vegan restaurant in this tourist trap of Melbourne. The calamari was delicious, the mushroom and truffle parpadelle was honestly the best pasta I've had since going vegan! I was going to mark 4.5 stars as there were a few small things I'd recommend on improving, however 4.5 stars isn't an option and I didn't want to take a whole star away. Firstly the bacon on the carbonara was very overpowering with that classic fake bacon flavour. I think an alternative to the store bought bacon would be nicer as this flavour is very recognisable and takes away from the rest of the dish and makes it feel a little less special as it reminds me of the kind of dish I could make at home. Secondly, the meatballs were a little dry and tasted a bit more like falafel, in this instance I feel a more moist meatball like beyond meat would have been a better option. It is also a very expensive meal. Just my option but overall I love the restaurant and the concept!

Amazing vegan Italian food! The wait staff are very lovely as well. But seriously, the food is phenomenal! Especially the eggplant entree and mushroom pasta! Special shout out to the cabonara pasta and cheesecake. Delicious 2nd time back!

10/10! We loved visiting Funghi e tartufo - amazing food, great atmosphere and it's so great to be able to eat traditional Italian food made vegan. Can't wait to go back!

Well this was a first for myself. As my wife is a vegan l decided that it was only fair to eat somewhere that would cater to her lifestyle. I must admit it was nice and at least put a smile on my wife's face. Worth a visit vegan or not.

Really delicious food and lovely vibe. I found the portion size on the small side for the price but I am a big eater!

: Say hello to Melbourne’s first Italian plant-based restaurant. An extensive menu with an array of vegan Italian dishes. Simply said Italian classics like cheesy pastas with a plant based makeover and no compromise in taste.

️: I would say all the menu options were intriguing—from grilled ‘swordfish’ to pastas to ice cream. I loved the eggplant and zucchini—each bite so soft and flavorful! The Coppa Cioccolato dessert, omg the appearance already impresses. Nothing sounds more dreamy than pistachio gelato, pistachio liqueur with whipped cream and a sprinkle of caramelised pistachio.

Hands down one of the best vegan restaurants in Melbourne. Tucked away in the beautiful Hardware Lane, Funghi e' Tartufo offers a great range of plant based renditions of all your favourite Italian Classics like Arancini, Bolognese and my go-to dish; the Pasta Puttanesca. I've dined here a number of times and the atmosphere is so delightful and the staff are so generous! Highly recommend!

So glad this place is back and in an even happier that it is all plant based now! Highly recommend the Pappardelle Funghi e Tartufo. SO creamy. Will be heading back to try more asap!

A memorable meal in a happy environment. I'm not a vegan and I know as a cook how hard it can be to work flavour into vegan dishes. These were spectacularly good. Unforgettable in fact.

Blown away by the food. I have been waiting for a vegan Italian restaurant for years and this has fulfilled all of my wishes.
The fish is amazing and not like any other vegan fish dishes I’ve ever had. Sizes are good and the price reflects the fancy menu and dishes.
I personally would recommend to pick anything but the Italian schnitzel, it looked a bit sad in comparison to the other dishes

Went for lunch on the weekend a couple back before lockdown. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Great options and sized portions. Very happy, it was delicious Authentic Sicilian food in the heart of Melbourne!

Had such a lovely dinner here - it was my first time trying Sicilian food and everything was SOOO tasty! Such great service too, thank you to Renato and the team for being so accommodating. Would definitely come back again!:)

After being in lockdown once again in Melbourne, my first outing for good food was an adventure. We made reservations to visit Il Nostro Posto and what a great evening and surprise. The food was outstanding. The chef deserves top stars for her magnificent food. The best ever. I ordered the Gnocchi Pancetta e Radicchio which made me smile right thru the next day thinking about it. It was so good I savoured every single bite. Delicious. We started the meal with Carpaccio di Bresaola and it made my eyes roll around in my head. A real winner. My partner ordered another delicious plate of Linguine Marinara and I had to convince him to slow down. It too was amazing. Everything was made with love. For dessert we order Tiramisu which made me want to stand on the table and sing in Italian. That would have been quite a scene since I can't sing at all. Our cocktails were spectacular too. To make it all even better, our server was incredible with the most beautiful personality. I can't wait to return for another great evening celebrating good food. Thank you so much.

We had a lovely night here on Saturday night. The owners were so welcoming. They couldn’t do enough for us. Every dish presented to us was explained and matched up with a lovely red wine. Absolutely loved the vibe in the street. We were lucky enough to be outside under a heater which enabled us to thoroughly enjoy the ambience of the place. The food was awesome. Who needs to go overseas when you can come out to a restaurant like this! We were so looked after. Thank you.

Went for lunch on the Sunday of the long weekend with a group of friends and had a lovely experience.
The owner, Renato, is very friendly and accommodating and tries to give his personal attention to each table. He generously brought us a complimentary selection of antipasti to try and when one of our group requested a dish that was not on the menu, he said they could make it for him.
The food was well presented and reasonable-sized portions. Not a cheap place, but the experience is worth it. Outdoor tables in summer ideal.
There is also a quaint, very European-style room downstairs used for private functions up to 50. Would return again.
