Il Gambero

Have a small group gathering after my daughter graduation from UM. We have been to this restaurant annually since 2014 and I always very satisfied with the foods we ordered, authentic Italian food with friendly staff and bosses

Amazing pizza and pasta, The best Italian in Melbourne. The owner is lovely and very charismatic. 10/10 for food and ambience.

We made a large order for our monthly office lunch, from pizza to pasta (and more), everyone loved the food. Staff at the restaurant were excellent to deal with and very helpful. We will return again and Thank you!

Amazing place and friendly staff in Carlton area. Foods are extremely delicious and atmosphere is great. If you are looking for an Italian restaurant, just head down and try this place.

We love il gambero the food the service is always impeccable we sat outside it was sunny but they had the heaters on which made it warm especially being winter as well keep it up guys we will be back again

Great food. Il Gambero has the best fettucine marinara in town by a mile! It was even better than I experienced at Il Gamberos in the past and that is really saying something!

As always Il Gamberos provides a great atmosphere to catch up with friends and colleagues over lovely food, wine and great service.

Went there for a work function. I found the pizza menu sadly lacking in the traditional choices of pizza. It seems all types of 'fancy' pizzas have taken over. Others guests who ordered other meals commented that the food was 'just alright'. Sadly not the Il Gambero that I knew 15-20 years ago. I think that others have overtaken them. I wouldn't go back in a hurry.

Great pizza, pasta and service in a modern, chic diner. Close to Melbourne Museum and university.

We were attended to quickly and food and drinks were both served within 15mins. Excellent service, lovely staff and good food.

Can always tell a good place when it's full! Good tasty food. Could be a little more consistent with serving sizes. Great waiter - he was good value. Wouldn't go there for conversation though.pretty noisy making it hard to hear across the table. Can recommend the eggplant and polenta chips!

Great staff, very tentative to our needs. Great venue for a function. Food was coming out hot and constant plus bar staff were very professional.

The function room was delightfully decorated for our daughter's 21st and the service and finger food was tasty.

Very nice Italian Restaurant in Melbourne. Although I would say it's bit expensive for their serving size.

Pizza was very average. Hardly any topping. Staff seemed in a rush to get us in and out even though only 2 other tables were occupied. We hadn't even finished our starters and mains arrived at the table.

Seafood platter was ok. But.what happened with cheese pizza. To be honest, pizza was a bit disappointing.: (
