I Love Dumplings reviews
66Wait times were long in an empty restaurant and when the food did come out, it was kinda cold. Tasted nice though
What happened to this place? It was far better managed a few years back but now it's a joke. Two waiting staff to a hall of hungry customers just didn't feel right. We waited a fair bit to be seated and almost an hour only to be served a starter dish. <<<<<THE PLACE WAS IN A MESS>>>>> All the while, there were anxious food delivery riders waiting impatiently for their orders, crowding the service counter. In the end we gave up and left the premises without seeing our main meals [and only paid for the lackluster starter dish]. Will not return again, ever!
We used to always frequent this place and enjoyed their food and cooking style, with lovely staff.
Yesterday, we had the worst experience. The food was subpar eg.cold food being served, watered down milk tea, there was only 1 waitress with 1 other manning the till.
The worst was the rice. It was undercooked, hard and tasted bad. I would have expected at the very least, rice in a place that serves asian cuisine would be cook correctly. The type of rice used as well tasted very cheap.
Sincerely hope the food quality improves.
I've only been here at lunchtime, but the dumplings are great and they're so cheap it almost feels like it's a mistake.
I will happily return again and again.
Fast service, good- sized serves of dumplings, very reasonable prices. Very nice on the inside as well. Definitely recommend.
The ambience is average however the dumplings are amazing. Beef and lamb dumplings highly recommended with their savoury sauce
Dumplings so good! There was a problem with one of our meals and they were very apologetic and quick to fix it.
Always good. Stick to the dumplings and you'll be happy. We are moving, so we're going to miss this place
Ordered via Uber Eats which came in 50 minutes. The Soy Sauce Fried Rice was bright red which I’m not sure why and the rice wasn’t completely cook so it was hard to eat. The wontons were good but the filling was a bit dry. Overall, it was OK.
Absolutely disgusted in the service, dumplings are good but that's about it. Came with my husband and baby and they put us on the smallest table with a high chair, of course we had to clear the area in front of the baby as common sense its a baby and he will grab what he can.obviously not common sense to some people as the staff continued to bring out our order and dump in front of the baby including the Mongolian beef (which was yuk) that was served on a floating hotplate with a flame underneath! Honestly could you get any dumber!
also they are tax evaders as they except cash only on Saturday
My partner loves this place. Good food, fast service. Parking can be a bit hard to find, but sometimes a short walk is needed after leaving here. This place can be very busy at times and you made be required to have a short wait. Well worth it.
This was always the best place in Melbourne for dumplings. I feel that they are still good, but the taste is not as great as it used to be.
Love going here for dumplings. Such great value for money. Love the beef and lamb dumplings with their chilli sauce. Easily my favourites.
Didn't think much of their duck wraps. Not too much flavour to be honest. Might try some other items next time, but dumplings are always a safe bet.
Was there with the GLW and a friend. The building resembled to me that this was a converted bank to become a restaurant.
The decor was great as the table and chairs were sturdy, so much better that the many that uses cheaper versions that move while you dine. Towards the west wall was a wonderful Chinese wood carved painting.
We had the noodles, deep fried sweet and sour basa and some fried rice. The fried rice to me was nothing out of the ordinary. Noodles was similar however the basa was wonderful and with some dumplings, that brought the lunch back.
Will I return, when around the area, I will but hope for better Hokkien noodles and fried rice.
Really nice place in the Melbourne cbd to get some dumplings and have fun with friends. It offers also a veggie menu and is very cheap compared to other similar places. Suggested to book to find place.
If you must ask, just go for the dumplings! The dumplings are juicy, flavourful and made fresh. I was pretty sad that they removed the 8 dumplings option and only have the 15 ones. So now I can't have 2 types of dumplings but only 1 to share.
Other menu items tasted average and portion is smaller too.
It usually gets crowded dinnertime so reserve a table or be there early.
You'd better book if you want to get in here. The dumplings are sublime. It's an open plan restaurant lots of tables lots of noise and joviality! You will not find wood fired pizza here but the noodles are fantastic!
Dumpling is good. All other dishes are just average. Another note that they don't let you split the bills.
Excellent food all round. As usual for a Chinese restaurant, the service in-store is prompt and efficient but don’t expect too much in the way of pleasantries. I usually get it delivered and the dumplings are always hot and fresh. The few times I’ve eaten there it’s been jam packed, so be prepared.
Nice place with traditional decoration.dumplings in the Sichuan chilli sauce is the best. Will back soon
