Huong Viet Vegetarian & Vegan reviews
75Good food at a reasonable price in the heart of Footscray. The restaurant has a small but decent menu that is completely vegan. I have been coming here for a few years and the food has been consistently good. For those wanting something fun, try the DIY rice paper rolls.
The pho is delicious, there is a wide choice and the staff is nice, the entries too are a must to eat, highly recommended.
Very long wait times and when the food came out, it was cold and flavourless. This has happened numerous of times. On one occasion, we found a fly in our food. Not impressed!
Absolutely amazing food. I grew up eating Vietnamese food in Footscray and the broth for the Pho is the most realistic and close to the real deal I have ever tasted.
Best part is that it is all vegan with a few vegetarian dishes. We would come here everyday if it was closer to him!
One of our favorites when we used to live nearby! Quick and friendly service, really good tasting food - we still miss it and come back to the area sometimes specifically to eat here.
Ordered uber eats from here. Order was delayed by an hour. Food was dry and cold. Definitely NOT worth the wait. They also forgot the drinks we ordered and they had to send someone again and took half an hour for just drinks! Will not be coming here again.
It was a beautiful Vegan Meal. We had Rice paper rolls, Special Pho and their spicy “Goat” meat and they serve alongside their house tea all under 50$. It was incredibly good which left us really full and happy.
We were long time customers of Huong but after our recent visit we will not be returning. After waiting a while to finally place our order - understandable, they were busy - we received our order after about 20 minutes. Half way through our meal we found a BAND AID in our salt and pepper tofu. We notified staff and they took the plate away to inform us they would make us another one - no thanks! No apology from the owner or chef. The wait staff member was apologetic but this didn’t seem like a big deal to them at all! We had to refuse to pay for our meal. Sorry, but we won’t be returning!
Lovely food, lovely attention.great vegan options! Not very beautiful place to visit but the food is totally worth it!
Delicious and cheap vegan food! Best spring rolls, the mongolian "beef" and BBQ fried rice are also faves. Heavy on the mock meats but you can ask for only veggies if that's not your thing. Just be wary of a couple of dishes that specify egg noodles.
I had lemon grass chilli noodle soup for Sunday lunch.
Only a few customer in the restaurant as wet & windy day. I waited less than 10 mints to serve my noodle.
I know it’s vegetarian restaurant but some topping looks so real meat.
Taste was nice and spicy! But noodle itself let me down little bit as the texture bit soggy.
I saw “new menu “ on the wall, such as duck, pork belly, prawn.
Are they fake meat or real?
This is the kind of place you'd take a meat-loving friend to, just to see their face of pure disbelief when they take their first bite of this magic food.
I have been a numerous places that put a focus on their mock meat, and Huong Viet's level of imitation for all of their dishes is almost scary. Their food somehow substitutes meat in a way that's both appealing to people who love the texture of meat, but also satisfies people who don't like the texture of meat. Like, this must be witchcraft then, right? !
Ugh, just stop reading and go there. You deserve this food, and they deserve the business and praise.
I think everything if not almost everything can be made vegan here. Love it l, it’s my new fave place. BEST vegan BBH I’ve had! Too bad it’s so far from me.
I think this is a small family run business? The lead lady attendant is welcoming and says: long-time-no-see! They do remember you as returning patrons.
The food is tasty. I love ordering fried spring rolls and rice paper rolls, which are mock meat. I love their chilli sauce; (I'm guessing its homrmade) ? The service is quick, and very accommodating.
Pleasant atmosphere. The counter area is reminiscent of an old milk bar.
They have a simple menu with reasonable prices. You can by card, but they prefer cash. No alcohol
It can be a little bit cleaner.
I recommend this place.
