Great food and lots of wonderful vegetarian and vegan options too. Flavourful and delicious, all in a colourful atmosphere where the staff are attentive and helpful. A new local favourite for us (we live in Thornbury).

Great food and great vibe, music was a bit loud hence the 4 stars. But 5* for food Highly recommended!

We went to celebrate an Indian friend's Birthday. We told them clearly that we are celebrating someone's birthday, while booking the table, and at check-in. When we ordered food, we were told that the restaurant refused to increase the spice level, their stated reason was that they cater to an Aussie clientele and the food was pre-cooked. Pre-cooked? That should knock off a star right there. We are at an Indian restaurant that serves pre-cooked food and does not wish to alter to Indian customer's palette even when that alteration was as easy as adding some pepper. I accepted that reason and didn't argue to that. Apart from being mild, the food was good. The white people sitting on the adjacent people got a great treatment, it seems it was someone's birthday and the restaurant decided to make it special for them by placing an Indian style royal turban on their head, bringing a cake and a candle and playing birthday music. The Indian style turban was clearly to create a surprise/ wow factor for Aussie/white clientele. The restaurant claims to do that for all customers but nothing of that sought was done for us, our experience was a bit below average, our order was served late than usual and clearly treatment met to us was different. It was becoming clear to us that everything at the restaurant was geared towards white people, be it the mild food, their refusal to make it a bit more spicy, the special birthday treatment for the white people who sat on the adjacent table, the Indian style turban. And I don't have a problem with customizing the user experience to your target audience. The problem was that we were given a far inferior experience. The restaurant didn't do anything special for my friend and our service was late. While checking out, I asked them if it that white people get a different treatment at this place. The restaurant manager shouted back at me that I was being racist. So here I was being called a racist because I called out a difference in behavior towards us and other white people at the restaurant. They were unapologetic, abusive and indifferent. They told us that we didn't need to pay without showing any willingness to understand what we felt. We insisted and paid the full amount. But a review is due.

Food, service were fabulous. We had the chefs banquet as it was our first time here based on friends recommendations & it did not disappoint. We loved it so much that our group of 4 didn’t even notice that our 2hr seating time had ended - the hosts were gracious & accommodating in moving us to the bar to finish our dessert & bottle of wine despite it being an incredibly busy evening. We will 100% be back.

Went here with my cousin and sister, who is vegan. The vegan options were plentiful and delicious! The naan was also beautiful, would’ve liked more garlic on the garlic naan but aside from that it was amazing! Also fantastic service from the waitresses and servers who were happy to explain the dishes and were so on top of making sure our table was happy and needed more water or not. Great pricing and good location!

I have been coming here for years and have enjoyed it. The acoustics can make it difficult to talk to friends. Tonight the situation was not helped by loud music which made it even more difficult to hear people on my table. Why have music at all? It detracts rather than enhances the dining experience.

I love all of Jessi Singh's restaurants and Horn Please is no exception. The spot feels a bit more casual and lively than Daughter in Law but is otherwise similar, with a comparable menu and drink selection and Indian films projected on the wall. I was dining with my family so I got to sample a selection of dishes, some favourites of which were the turmeric yoghurt and pakora dish and (surprisingly), the naan and dip platter. I wouldn't have chosen to order this but did at my family's suggestion and will admit it would make a great addition to any meal. We also tried the fried okra, tandoori chicken and aloo baingan - all great. My dad even said it was the best Indian food he's ever had, so obviously they're doing something right.

I have been here many times over the last 4 years and each time the food and service is fantastic. Recently attended their vegan buffet night on Sunday which was such great value and full of flavour. Also extra points for staff being very helpful and loving towards my little one.

Great service. Nice aesthetics. Food (all you can eat) was reasonably priced but tasted average.

Food was delicious as always. Our personal favourites this time was the Colonel Tso’s Cauliflower & Horn Please Dhal. The Dhal in particular went supremely well with the rice.

However something has to be said about having your empty plates cleared as you're eating and being given the bill abruptly (and rather aggressively placed on the table) at the 90 min mark. Ideally the team should have mentioned that our 90 mins is over and that they will be needing the table. Hopefully this is a once off experience.

Nice set up inside. Staff were lovely and knowledgeable. I like the idea of the self-serve beer fridge too. The entrees were good, but I found the curry mains to be too creamy and not an authentic Indian flavour. They have over-compensated for Australian tastes.

Was very excited to try the all you can eat vegan buffet for $20 on Sunday evenings at Horn Please. However, was disappointed to discover that every dish served had been loaded with so much salt that the meal was almost inedible. The concept was a good one and the variety of dishes was great but it seemed to me that there must be a lack of confidence in the cooking and flavours if they have to try and boost taste through over salting. Also, felt it wasn't good value for money - the naan breads were an extra cost and there was no dessert or sweet as part of the price. It would be very hard to consume $20 of value in what was on offer.

Went here for the vegan buffet and wasn't disappointed:) The food was very tasty and staff were lovely. I might have missed it on a confirmation email but knowing that it was cash only payment would have been good, although to their credit they did make that known well before it came time to pay.

Just dined with gluten free vegetarian and enjoyed four delicious dishes. Not cheap and a bit noisy but well worth it.

First time here, love my Indian food and was excited to try the all you can eat vegan buffet. The place is welcoming and has a laid back feel from when you walk in. Luckily we booked as the place was full and there was a queue of walk-ins trying to get a seat. You can select individual dishes or the buffet, we chose the $20 buffet. You walk up to the buffet area and essentially they serve you the starters, 3 curries (lentils, kidney beans and chuck peas), naan and rice. We went back for seconds because it was so nice but the initial serving would have been enough for most people. The drinks work on an honesty system, you get them from the fridge yourself and pay for them at the end. Really enjoyed this experience and will be back.
