Hooks At The Yarra reviews
68My husband and I decided to come back to the same restaurant where he proposed for me to celebrate our two year anniversary of our marriage. The place is a lot nicer compared to what I can remember, the restaurant had been redecorated more romantic and beautiful. The quality of the food is quite still the same, it is still very delicious and well presented. The service is wonderful with amazing staff who helped my husband prepared a big surprise for me. The restaurant is next to the Yarra river so the air is fresh and cool. I hope we can come back here on our 10th anniversary and more.
Quiet Saturday night, large table of 12. Service was excellent. We enjoyed the food and were able to easily split the bill.:)
Beautiful. My friend and I went there for dinner tonight after reading mixed reviews. Our experience was fantastic! The service was friendly and attentive from our waitress and we were made to feel very welcome. We really enjoyed our meals that were cooked beautifully and served piping hot. My friend had the lobster and said it was delicious and not even slightly tough as has been previously reviewed, I had the scampi which was lovely and tasty, our entree's of oysters and scallops were also divine. We were left wondering how on earth this place could have had a negative review on any level. For us, this place was well worth the visit and we look forward to coming back again as the weather warms to have another lovely meal outside.
Hooks are so stingy they won’t even pay one of their workers the measly $400 difference between the wages they underpaid him and the minimum wage. Pay Matthias, and all your workers, the legal minimum or more Hooks!
I met someone who works here that got paid way under minimum wage don't eat here if you think workers should be paid properly
The business has been stealing wages from workers and they pay less than the minimum wage. This needs to be stopped.
One of the coolest place to visit in Melbourne. Outdoor beam bags under big palmtrees and great on Yarra River. Next to iconic Webb bridge. Awesome highly professional staff, nice food and drinks. Great cocktails. Highly recommended for night out
This business underpays workers. If you can’t afford to pay your workers properly you can’t afford to run a business. Definitely not going here again until they pay their workers properly.
This restaurant has stolen wages from it's staff, and fired a worker for questioning it. Do not give them your business.
This restaurant has engaged in wage theft upon their employees, and fired one for speaking out, they have offered to pay them 50% of what they owe them to shut them up, this is still wage theft. Please avoid this restaurant and show solidarity with the staff there.
This restaurant rips off its workers by paying below minimum wage. When they ask for the minimum they get sacked and threatened. Shameful.
The new owners at Hooks is paying it's workers less than the minimum wage and refuse to cough up. Never coming here again
Zero stars. The owners here steal workers’ wages, don’t pay penalty rates, and threaten those who speak out against them. Avoid!
Apparently the management here refuses to pay their staff minimal wages. Gonna make sure my mates steer clear. Business best sent elsewhere.
Hooks@ the Yarra are run by thieving grubs, who have ripped off at least one of their workers over $400 in unpaid wages, and reckon they can get away with paying below the award.
Hooks at the Yarra underpays its workers. I won’t be going there again until I hear that the staff are paid properly according to their legal entitlements. If you have no workers you have no business - pay them a decent wage.
Was a pleasant experience until I discovered they are underpaying their employees and refusing to repay the missing wages
Sadly the food and drinks were not what we were expecting for a Melbourne restaurant but the service is definitely worth the stars issued. Waitresses were very helpful and so lovely. Food was unfortunately terrible and the cocktail we ordered Yates nothing like it was supposed to be.
Great place to have a drink when the sun goes down. Amazing service! Shout out to Steve - he'll look after you.
We came there twice and both time their kitchen were closed, NOT SAME AS THE OPEN TIME. Their kitchen opens 12 pm, closes at 8pm. So different from American restaurants
