Hochi Mama reviews
77Amazing.service excellent.food outstanding. Staff enthusiast and extremely helpful. Chloe. Fraser. Nayr all assisted us today and remembered us from 2 days ago. We will fly back to Perth to hopefully return soon. Thank you.
Great food. Always very busy. The dishes are different to the traditional Asian dishes and that's what is good about this place.
Another great place for Asian fusion style food in Melbourne. Loved it, enjoyed and had a great time. It can be noisy with lot of people however that doesn't stop you from enjoying a great meal.
Deeeelicious food; friendly and helpful staff who gave spot-on recommendations when we were indecisive. Great vibe on a busy Friday night.
Very bad experience, the staff pretend to be very busy and they are very rude.
When we are ready to order, everyone just like "give me one second " and they don't come back.
I don't know why they received such a good review before?
Quick service, with a nice little backstory to the restaurant. Excellent menu suggestions and some beautiful flavours. Just a bit crowded and had to ask for my drink twice (also got the wrong bill at the end).
Great staff. Good food, comes out of the kitchen quickly. Wine selection limited, but OK. Very noisy!
Don't worry about the cost, your meal is definitely worth it! Great atmosphere in the evening. A common dish done uncommonly well. Enough said. Got a pretty good portion size for a relatively reasonable price. I recommend trying this place if you have the time.
The food here is delicious, the staff are friendly and the vibe is quite relaxed. Be sure to get in early to grab a table. A sizable step at the entrance may not be great for most wheelchair users and the gaps between tables might be a bit of a hindrance. But will depend on your own accessibility situation.
The most memorable part of my experience was the delicious food and cocktails. Proving that HoChiMama has done their job well. I cannot fault any dish. And each dish was presented beautifully and of enough quantity. Our waitress Cleo was friendly and knowledgeable with excellent recommendations. I will definitely return.
Wow! By far best modern viet restaurant I’ve been to. I felt like I was eating an authentic viet home cooked meal but with a modern twist. Food and service have been great both times I’ve been here. Would recommend their special for $59, so much food and reasonably priced. All the drinks are pretty good as well. The only thing I could say is that their dessert choices need a bit of improving (the choc mousse wasn’t great) other than that, will definitely become a regular spot for me.
Great experience! Funky decor and food is delicious! Gotta try the Deep Fried Gaytime bao for dessert.
Fabulous place, excellent food and incredibly good staff! Went with a large group (bookings are essential) and nothing was too difficult. Delicious meals, excellent drinks and superb location. The staff really shone, and couldn't have been better. Excellent experience all round!
A favourite spot for dinner in the city after work. The feed me deal is great! $29pp for sharing dishes of your choice. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and never need disappointed. The Bao, and southern style tofu curry are definite favourites.
Only thing to watch is that it can be very spicy, and I have been served some very chilli hot dishes even when asking for mild recommendations.
Asian fusion restaurant in Melbourne. The bun is very good here – it’s a steamed bun type bread with Asian fusiony meat filling e.g. Pork belly, fried chicken, etc. Other items are standard good.
Lots of creative cocktails as well / seems popular with the professional crowd. A bit pricey.
Really good food. Taste was spot on and the price was super fair and was worth every cent. Dont go past the $59 special for 2. Our waiter Morgan was great. Suggestions was made very well and a good night all around.
