Hobba

Been to Hobba twice, the first time was average, but we thought we would give it another chance. The second attempt was significantly worse. I made the mistake of ordering the Xmas truffle croque madam - no truffle, ultra stodgy bechemal, oddly sweet and loaded with nutmeg. It might have worked better on a dessert.

Up there with one of the least enjoyable restaurant meals I have had.

Hadn't been in a few years and I'm glad that Hobba still has the trendy/casual brunch vibes.

The coffee and food were great and the space was nice and breezy. The servings are pretty filling!

We loved the atmosphere and decor of Hobba! The food and coffee were fantastic, although the eggs could have been cooked a tad longer. Nice staff and overall a great vibe - will definitely be back!

Food was really good but the service really needs work. Will be back could be a one off but there seemed to be no structure to the service

Top spot for service and feeling meshed in the neighbourhood, very busy in 2023 and the wait for a coffee might be 15 mins with all they offer they’re still a 5 star establishment

STUNNING venue. The most delicious food. We got the Brisket hash special and the Pea and Haloumi fritter special and they were divine. The service was great, attentive and really nice people. A must try

Great food, efficient service and exceeded expectations. The BBQ beef brisket had great flavour and was very filling. Make sure you check out the special board when you get there. Will be back!

A big shout out to John and the crew for managing our lunch for 20 in the back room yesterday, March 18,2023. The service was outstanding with a special thanks to Josep. The handling of one diner's special needs was sensitive, prompt and impressive.

Perfect level of noise to enjoy a private conversation in a full (crowded but not squashy), bustling cafe. Lovely selection of all day (till 3.30) brekky or lunch choices. And reasonably priced.

Love this groovy, quintessentially melbourne establishment. Awesome decor, amazing food, great coffee and drinks. Highly recommend!

Had a poke bowl, was delicious! The wait staff were excellent.only thing very odd was the guy sitting behind the coffee maker station staring at everyone.don't know if that was the owner just awkward.

We ordered two coffees, the Hobba hotcakes and blue swimmer crab omelette. Exquisite presentation matched with well balanced flavours made a simple brunch into something memorable

Some of the best cafe food I’ve ever had. The crab omelette was unreal, delicate and super well balanced. Huge props.

The worst place I’ve ever been in Melbourne.
Half an hour to have the honour to order a coffee, half an hour to get it (and also not completely correct) and part of the order forgotten.
Rude way to welcome and say goodbye at the end.
Finally, Not recommended at all

Caught up with a friend here for brunch. We had the baklava hot cakes and it was great. Quite a busy morning but the service was quick and the serving was generous.

Had a spoil-myself day and decided to do some work at Hobba, as I read that it was a good place to work from. The warehouse conversion cafe has a really nice feel, the glass front and skylights let in a lot of natural light and it doesn't feel cramped at all. It was a very good place to get some writing done.

Food wise, I had the smashed avacado and it was fine. Nothing to write home about, but nothing wrong with it either. The chai latte was served with the leaves and a strainer, how I like it, so no complaints there. I probably should have chosen something more exciting off the menu for the proper experience. Would come back for the atmosphere though.

Great atmosphere, great food. Perfect for starting a great day.we ordered the specials allepo eggs, salmon crumpets, as well as the slow cooked pork eggs benedict. The eggs are perfect, not too runny but not overcooked. Perfectly soft poached.served with lemony yoghurt feels so refreshing, not heavy at all.
