HiFi Restorations

I pulled out my old turntable and old vinyl LPs. I needed a new belt, stylus and some cleaning products for my records. Contacted Andrew at HiGi Restorations via email through their site. Got a very fast response. He tracked down everything I needed without fuss. Very good, efficient and responsive service. Thank you.

Once again Andrew did a wonderful job on a second Mission 775SM turntable.

This time I have had him install a Mission Mechanic tonearm with the Ortofon Cadenza Bronze cartridge. So a big sound stage for rock'n'roll and a nice smooth finish by the Bronze.

My other 775SM (reviewed previously) has the Zeta arm and Cadenza Black - this has great detail suitable for jazz (esp.those Analogue Production 45 rpm 12" double LPs).

Now I have two decks for all occasions.

. And both represent the best of what Mission could have offered back in the day as both arms (like the 774SM) were made by G&B Tools (London).

I never bother with surveys or reviews unless I was significantly impacted by the shopping experience. This is one such occasion. I had an issue with my Cambridge Audio Azur 640C. I should have replaced the unit. 15 years is a reasonable life even for good gear. However, I left it with Andrew for repairs. He replaced the non functioning bits and got it back to normal. I'm sure any reasonable technician could have done that. But, what impressed me was the personal attention to what was important to me, the customer. He listened to my needs. He could have sold me a shop full of gear. But, I wanted this item fixed. So, when I needed a Cambridge Audio Dacmagic Plus, I had no hesitation in putting the business his way. Moral: look after the customer and they will keep you in business.

I needed help in fixing up my dad's old turntable, Andrew did an amazing job in fixing it up for me! Can't thank him enough for his excellent service and expertise.would definitely come back if i have any issues in the future!

Had a problem with my early 90's Sony 333ESR Amp but was keen to keep it if I could. Andrew diagnosed the issue, fixed it for a great price and I was able to pick it up 24 hours later. Fantastic service, and great to talk with someone who really appreciates classic HiFi. Overall a brilliant result; I couldn't be happier.

I was delighted with Andrew Coles care, repair and attention to my vintage stereo system. My Kenwood KA 3500 AMP and Marantz Turntable 6110 were showing signs of wear. Crackly volume and turntable auto return not working. Andrew turned around the restoration job in a few days. I was delighted. In fact they are playing now as I type this note. Thank you Andrew. Fantastic service! Andrew was able to restore my 50 year old Rotel RP-3000 with a minimum of fuss at a very reasonable price. I dropped it of on Tuesday afternoon, and it was ready on Thursday morning! Now able to listen to my old 1970's vinyl the way it used to sound back in the day. Thanks Andrew!

I can only say my experience with Andrew at HiFi Restorations was brilliant. I thought I might need a new motor for my Rega Planar 3 and was quoted accordingly. After dropping it off, Andrew called me the next day with the good news he'd found the problem and no new motor was needed! He gave it a service, replaced the belt and tested speed and tracking. He was knowledgeable, super responsive and great for my hip pocket. I couldn't recommend his service more highly.
