Helen & Joey Estate - Best Wineries Yarra Valley, Gruyere

As fairly frequent YV winery goers i cant believe we have driven past the turn off to Helen and Joeys so many times but never gone there! Wow, obviously passionate about there wines! We were running early for a lunch we had booked at another YV Winery (Tarrawarra Estate, Also recommended) and thought "why dont we stop in quickly as we havent been there before". I am glad we did! After our tasting we purchased 4 bottles (Chardonay, Pinot Noir, Rose, and Desert Sauvignon Semillon) even though we really wanted to buy double that and if we didnt have an expensive lunch planned we wouldve. We will definitely return though!

We had a group of 20 visit here - A fantastic finish to the day, not only are their wines to die for, but the views! This is a must see location and Julia could not do more for us - she was just incredible, she made the end of my birthday one to remember!

Solid 5 stars. Wine tasting ($5) was great, a variety of choices that display the wines of the region. Steven was our guide and he shared his knowledge of the production and tasting notes throughout. We also had a nice conversation with one of the owners - Helen, and learnt about their humble journeys into becoming wine lovers and cultivators. It was a very, very pleasant experience.

Outstanding experience. We have been there on a beautiful day, tasted a very fine selection of wines, served by the friendly and knowledgable staff. The views are also beautiful, not to mention the unicorns.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff with a down-to-earth approach. (No wine snobs here) I even thought one of the staff was a patron until he went behind the counter. Couldn't fault any of the wines, so they clearly know what they're doing in the wine making process. Very nice cheeses, olives etc.on the grazing plates, and some unusual and delicious dessert items locally sourced e.g. Lemon curd muffin. With an expansive vista of the vines and surroundings from the deck (and bonus live music on the day we went) what's not to like?

Amazing service and beautiful wines. We were recommend this cellar door by St Huberts staff and popped up for a look. The lady that took our tasting (afternoon 3 Aug 2018) was simply the best cellar door staff we have ever encountered. Her knowledge of not only her wines but the wider Yarra Valley improved our visit considerably (she even made us more excited for our stay at Meletos than we already were!) Left with 6 amazing bottles of wine and was thoroughly impressed!

The staff are so attentive and really try to help you try wines to your tastes for $5 (if you buy wine it comes off the price). Very generous - we tried 7 wines! Beautiful setting.

Brilliant job. My favorite place because they are offering a variety of wines. I used to come here with friends and enjoy a lot. Great job guys.

Great winery, very light, easy to drink wines at a reasonable price! Recommend the Pinot and the Late Harvests - very moreish!

Amazing experience at Helen and Joey Estate today! The service and hosts were so accommodating, knowledgeable and genuine. Wines and views were on point as well! But the service and hospitality was above and beyond. Would definitely reccommend if you are in the Yarra Valley. Thank you to our hosts!

We had the most amazing experience at Helen & Joey Estate yesterday - we had a wine tasting booked - we arrived and were greeting by our amazing host Emily who had a section of their stunning deck set up for us and we tasted their amazing wines and Emily told us all about them and the estate. Views were spectacular - could not recommend it more highly. Thankyou so much for a great time!
