So far this is the worst place I have ever dined-in place. Been there for lunch in a group of 8 colleagues, non of them was impressed. Not recommended

I've had a LOT better chicken rice, quality and value for money. Yeh Michelin star maybe in Hong Kong but not in Melbourne

I hardly gave a negative review, but this restaurant made me unpleasant, not because of the food but of the service attitude. No WIFI, but you have to scan a QR code to order online, but online orders need an OZ phone number, which is not tourist friendly. It's like a fast-food restaurant providing no service.

Not great and I don’t like the rice at all; I came tonight at 6pm and they were closed hence the 1 star - not reliable so go elsewhere, there’s a lot to choose from in the area.

Surprisingly good. Simple food done right. Portion size is on the smaller size however prices are reasonable. Crispy that pork was very nice, a must try.

Food quality has dropped, portions decreased and prices went up. Big fan of hawker chan but this was disappointing. Time to up your game.

I absolutely love Hawker Chan, this Michelin Star restaurant makes the best cha siu and soya sauce chicken. The food is delicious and very affordable.

Portion is too small that you'd have to eat 2 to even be full! Also, quality of the meats is so bad you cant even believe your eyes. You would think a past Michelin star restaurant would serve soft and delicious Charsiew especially when they are the "premium" charsiew since they have 2 types of charsiew: Premium and Lean. No wonder they lost their Michelin Star. I paid $28 for the PREMIUM charsiew only to get HARD and NOT EDIBLE "PREMIUM" Charsiew. 500g of "premium" charsiew, at least 400g is filled with HARD charsiew that we couldnt even bite or swallow. They put a few of the actual premium charsiew at the top of the container just to make it look good, the rest were so hard we had to throw the whole thing away. Its like they gave us the end bits of the charsiew that people would normally throw away! Very disappointing and even FB messaged them about the situation but no replies had no choice but to post it here. If you are going to name the charsiew as "premium", make sure you give every single customer the ACTUAL PREMIUM ones. Not give your customers hard bits of the charsiew that is impossible to even bite on just so you could save money and not put the bad parts of charsiew to waste!

Also, i stood there for like 10 mins and no one wanted to serve me! Mind you i was standing right at the cashier. Saw me but ignored me and continue doing what they were doing. And could even use their phone in the midst of it. Speaking about poor customer service.

And dont even get me started on their WEEKEND SURCHARGE. I dine out alot everywhere, both overseas and also locally in Australia and this is the first place Ive seen that does this surcharge on weekends like seriously? ! I mean if your food is good and customer service is top notch, sure i wouldnt mind paying weekend surcharge, i wouldnt even mind paying an extra $10 for that matter. Bad customer service, poor quality and non edible food and portion too small its like feeding a child. And because of that bad experience, i will not be buying anything from Hawker Chan anymore.

Take so long time for order, the cashies so slow and ignore customer coming. I have been waiting almost 40mins to take my order. Even i already order by foods apps to pick up my self. Then now quality food getting worst. This last i will order, no more! Disappointed!

Walked past hawker chan today and thought to myself all the bad experiences I have had eating here and I do not think I have ate here since covid but decided to show them some support and wanted to give them another chance (business was quiet when I walked past). Got soy sauce chicken with noodles and a side of lean char siew. I was so ready to leave a review that will embarrass them BUT boy was I wrong. My partner and I were both very surprised, pleasantly, when we bit into a piece of soy sauce chicken. It was so very extremely good! The flavour of the soy was perfect! I wish we had more dark meat as the white meat was a bit tough but no complaints there. I was thoroughly amazed and I will even go as far as to say it is actually one of the better soy chicken I have tasted! Noodles were a bit soft (but we did travel for a bit before settling down to have our picnic) but the sauce with their sambal (which they wanted to charge an additional dollar for extra) reminded me of noodles I had back in Singapore. The lean charsiew tho was a bit of a disappointment as it was very tough and dry. They did offer a more premium and fatter cut which I did not go for but I might try that next time. Today's experience has changed my view and now I am looking forward to getting a half or full chicken for a weekday night dinner - which will not be too long from now!

The most DISGUSTING CHICKEN EVER. The chicken was RAW. It's pink and blood still fresh! You have put your customer in danger and especially for pregnant people where the side effect can be fatal! Let's hope that there won't be any fatality happen to me. You can see that I ended up giving this to my dog.

Been here lots of times. Very affordable food despite the fact that it's a Michlin-starred eatery. The owner says in an interview with a journalist that no one should have to pay too much for their food. Prices start st $6.80 for a main dish not entrees.

The meat is decent but portion sizes are very small & overall the meals were just below average.definitely a hundred places in Melbourne for better Asian food

Their quality is now a fraction of what it used to be. Serves them right for losing their Michelin Star. Now their barbeque meat is too dry. Must be from nobody consuming their food and serving meat from yesterday or other days.

Soya sauce chicken was very tender and had good flavour. Char siew on the other hand was very tough (like very). Although I ordered large for both chicken rice and char siew noodle, I think only the rice had an appropriate portion size. There was quite a lot of char siew, but not enough noodles.

Hawker Chan is brilliant if you're going for a fully Asian heavily sauced dining experience.

Every dish was heavily sauced. It's great if you love your taste buds greased and enjoy fully sauce covered rice and noodles. Hawker Chan delivers flavour 100%

However, if you just wanted to try something Asian and like your food lightly sauced or if you prefer healthy dining. Please find somewhere else for that =)

I was very much looking forward to this restaurant, the food looked good, and I had high hopes for the "Michelin Star" noodles. None of this was meant to be, however! The lack of customer service, no table water, clean and clear your own table and on top of it, the food was appalling. Raw chicken, ridled with red bones! The noodles cold, soup cold, vegetables cold! I went to the counter to have the chicken and meal replaced or at least recooked. Only to be served up another serving of raw chicken! They did not bother bringing it up to the table to apologise, they waved at me from the kitchen to come and collect the meal. This was the worst dining experience i have ever had. I'm not entirely sure what the staff do besides receiving payments. Do yourself a favour, stay home and cook yourself some Mi Goreng, its a much better experience!

We ordered the Soya Sauce Chicken, Roasted duck, Char siew & wanton noodle. All done way above our expectations. It's no-frills comfort food.
