Hanoi Hannah Express Lane reviews
58You can only pay by card as they do not accept cash. Then they add a card surcharge. Money grab when prices already at higher end for Vietnamese. Would love Hanoi Hannah’s feedback on this ….
Great spot for a quick grab of food.hot, tasting, well seasoned, perfectly cooked.well done to the team.must try are the chicken ribs and the vermicelli noodles with grilled pork.service was quick and efficient.overall would highly recommend
I've been there a few times. They have a great range of Vietnamese dishes. I highly recommend the stir fried lemongrass beef noodle.
Having to pay 61 for a pho, tofu salad and fresh coconut is an absolute riot. A dollar charge “processing fee” on an electronic order via QR code. $4 for substituting noodles in the pho (from rice to egg noodles). This is rather ridiculous for any food place let alone an express joint that is hardly a “restaurant”. My advice to others - go elsewhere on Chapel St.
Such delicious food! Always 10/10
Best tofu banh mi in town.
Nikita has such good front of house service, always on the ball and so attentive. So refreshing to have competent and friendly staff all around.
Delicious chicken ribs again… but undercooked. Must remember to emphasis that I want them well done and am happy to wait a bit longer!
PS External signage just says “Express Lane”.
Yum, yum, yum! Delicious Vietnamese food in a cool setting. Crowded when we went which reminds me of the bustling vibes of Saigon. Will be back!
Such delicious food. We had Viet rice and broth! Both amazing!
The waitress that served us was so so lovely. The customer service was inviting, friendly and on point!
We have forgotten her name but she had dark hair, likely Pakistan/ Indian decent!
Thank you so much!
Mostly a takeaway place, but the dine-in service is fantastic. Staff are lovely, and it goes w/o saying that the food is delish.
I think this place is so greedy.and ripping people off.
I Ordered take away food tonight—-3 bowl Pho noodle soup, beef salad, 2 served of duck rolls over $100. They don’t have to pay any wages on staff to clean up anything after. I asked for some chilli sauce to have with the Pho noodles soup and the rolls, definitely would cost them to purchase at the Asian grocery store at a cost of $4 a whole jar.
Emily said it will cost you extra $2 for a small container. I think it is ridiculous as if you are dine in the chilli sauce is on the table free to be used. Absolutely they would make a fortune on the chilli sauce plus extra on top of the $19.50 per bowl of noodle soup.
I recall coming here a few years ago and the food was very average and a little overpriced. We tried it again last night with my parents and the tender beef Pho soup was so disappointing. Not authentic tasting at all, and for $19, way over priced. Rice paper rolls, chicken and duck were bland. Service was very friendly and helpful though. But this place is too overpriced for the bland food. I should have learnt from past experience.
Food was nice, but portions were uneven. I would have happily paid more for a higher proportion of meat in each portion. Service was friendly, but long gaps between some meals coming and others.
Used to come here a fair bit havnt been for a while, the tuna rice paper rolls looked like they exploded in the container they came in, dressing not like it used to be. Rare beef salad slaw looked like it was cut over a week ago, dry yet slimy. Rare beef looked disgusting I didn’t even try it. Waste of my money thanks for that you guys obviously forgot about the customer just care about the $$
If I could do 0 stars I would. I’m sure the food would have been lovely. However the blond girl you have working today 26.01.2022 at the counter was beyond rude. From walking in the door to taking our order. Not one single person at the restaurant. It was her customer service that was awful, she had so much attitude in the way she spoke to all us. She was very much uninterested. We felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable we left as soon as she took our orders. Will not be coming here ever again. Hire better staff especially working on a public holiday, getting paid more and having 0 people at the restaurant. Do better.
Great food and service with kind staff. It's a small place to dine in so maybe book ahead. The Vermicelli Salad was huge maybe even enough for 2 people!
Bahn mi originally is supposed to made with fresh chilli. They want a dollar more for the chilli!
Good food but what a rip-off! Crackling is store bought garbage. My fault for not going to trang as usual and trying to support this business. ️
Waited over an hour for this overpriced food - I orderd spring rolls in my order - THEY GAVE ME JUST LETTUCE! WHAT A JOKE OF A PLACE!

I emailed you, no reply. Thought that be the case.
The food still ok but the service is terrible. Ordered online and paid $27 for what I thought was over priced food and it was late. I paid for extra chicken but didn't get extra. I will never gor back again! If you want legit Vietnamese food go down on chapel Street next to duke Street to the little bakery; honest price and great food. Unfortunately Hanoi Hannah is not the same.
Most expensive pho in Melbourne for a place that only seats about 15 people 2 chicken pho and one serving of prawns spring rolls cost us $54.00
Very disappointed! Veg Stirfry was ALL noodles with very few vegetables. Not an Asian green in sight Expensive, too sweet and nowhere near enough vegetables. Never again
