We were unable to park due to workman doing gardens and decking works, very noisy and dusty and workers stayed late drinking and bbq. Would have been nice to be told when booking.
We went midweek so it would be quieter only to find swim lessons for little kids running all afternoon so got to swim at 5.15 and it was getting cold. The reception told us swim lessons were over at 4 (“we could still swim with them”) but when asking teacher she said 5.15. Kids were not from resort either.
Was also told pub was open for dinner but not so, went to Aires for dinner.
Room was average for 190 so won’t be back.
Feeling like a Karen but it was what it was.

This was the worst.
The breakfast was $15 per person and we asked for a banana slice and in return they gave us cheesecake.
I recommend not go here no beach view no nothing.

Really really good. Just missing the right size plug for the kitchen sink. But that was fixed quickly when we called the office. A chopping board would have been handy but I understand with hygiene it may have been decided that is not appropriate.

- Nice, modern units
- Comfortable bed
- Great location
- Split system heating and AC
- Good shower with excellent water pressure
- Pleasant setting

Only a couple of minor issues.

- Couldn't get the wifi to work. Just hot spotted with our generous allowance instead
- You are encouraged to use the garbage and recycling facilities but they are hard to find. My wife asked the cafe staff who provided much more help than the in-room "guidance".

Location wise was good, room was tidy enough, bedding and pillows really need to be upgraded absolutely terrible, a in room spa needed some maintenance to be honest. Will look elsewhere next time down that way.

Great location, love the indoor pool. However, rooms are poorly maintained. Mould, stain and rust in spa bath tub, cracked sink. Would expect more for a 4 star resort. Need more attention on cleanliness eg, floor board, windows.

Great location and clean rooms. The receptionist was super lovely and helpful but I would suggest getting to the cafe at the front for breakfast rather than waiting for service. The dark chocolate date balls were a specialty.

Very nice and relaxing place in Anglesea. We came here for a long weekend just to escape from the city and recharge.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff is super nice and welcoming.
Near by there are restaurants, coffee shops and the beach is at walking distance.

Hidden Gem. Perfect place to be close to Melbourne. Good set up. Kids can stay busy whole day with indoor pool, tennis and Trampolines. Plenty of other places also nearby parks, river at front, walk to beach.will surely be going there many more times. Thank you.

Horrible place to stay. Very behind in customer service. Very rude. Spa was lovely but I wouldn't stay there. I suggest an independent airbnb. No communication from host at ALL! Cob webs, dirty windows and the bathroom smelt like a urinal. Massive space and a tiny TV with no digital TV. Wasn't provided with WiFi connection details at all! Used up all my data mobile spotting. That's all folks.

The facilities were good but the room and the service were terrible.
We paid $300 per night to stay in a motel room advertised as a resort/retreat staying.
Shower was horrible. Either too cold or too hot. Just a few drops of water would come out of it.
The double bed was two single beds joint together. Extremely uncomfortable. Don’t even need to mention the pillows.
Had to ask twice for clean towels and sheets at the reception. First time they just ignored us.
Never going back.

Just completed a 3 night stay at the Great Ocean Road Resort. My wife and I totally relaxed during our stay in Anglesea. Perfectly positioned to shops, river and restaurants.
The facilities are very good as are the team running the resort. A quick shout out to the housekeeping/cleaning staff in particular. Very friendly and helpful.

I would like to give the resort 5 stars however there are a couple of maintenance with our room (Room 4) that would need to be rectified. The lock on the front sliding panel was loose and a little awkward to use. The chain and wheel on the front blinds had worn away and made it impossible to fully raise above halfway. The bedroom window needs WD 40 to loosen it up and function properly. We had reported the items within 24 hours.
We are pretty easy going travellers so it was doable for the short term.

All in all the resort has a great deal going for it and we are happy to recommend it.

This place was great. We booked down the road through an online service and there was an error (hotel not actually open for business yet). The owner of both businesses called us personally to apologise and offer us the room at the resort for the same price. Room was great and the resort is in a great location. Only downfall was the electricity kept briefly cutting out multiple times on our first night. This was most likely due to the 35+ degree heat. Would come back on after less than 2 minutes so was not enough of an inconvenience for us to raise the issue with anyone. Didn’t happen again after the first day? GREAT service otherwise and we appreciate the hospitality of the owner.

This was our second mini-break to this resort. Everything is in full swing now such as the Jumpz trampoline oddessey for kids, the indoor heated pool and spa, The Coast fine dining restaurant with a lovely little balcony from which you can watch the tennis courts and of course the Lux Spa. They have added a small coffee and fresh juice station on the front balcony that really makes this place fully self contained now. The design of all the shared facilities is top notch here, such a relaxing delight to be in. Please don't miss out on a spa treatment if you stay here, my masseuse Meg gave me the most relaxing massage. Super family friendly whilst also appealing to people without kids. Highly recommended!

Pool was great. Friendly staff. Only thing we didn’t enjoy was no curtain on the glass door so room was lit up at 530 am. And when we got up there was ants all over the floor in kitchen.

Worst experience of our lives! My husband, myself and 2 young children stayed at the Great Ocean Resort in the Christmas period for 2 nights which was $713 per night. We stayed in supposedly the best room on the resort overlooking the man made Anglesea lake. The room wasn't fit for purpose in our view with mould all on the shower floor and walls, mould all around the rubbish bin and also on the bin frame which had very old food stains and mould and rust, the toilet in the bathroom smelt like a public toilet, the couches in the living room were peeling, there was bird business all outside on the balcony floor and the outside furniture, there was no designated parking spaces which was basically find your park when can, the blind strings weren't attached to the wall and were flapping around which is a child hazard, the fridge light was broken with cracked plastic shelves, the cutlery was dirty, as too the cutting board.

There were cobwebs all around the balcony with insects and bugs as well as in the living room corner ceiling, the kitchen table was broken where the legs were so wobbly we couldn't eat on it, the stair hand rail was lose and some of the bolts were lose, the bed was rock hard that my husband had a very sore back. It was like sleeping on a concrete block. The floors and walls had marks in many places. There was no internet. It was always dropping out and my husband couldn't work and my children couldn't go on their iPads. The iron cord had exposed wires. So many things were wrong in our view. Paying this sort of money, everything should be immaculate.

The bistro which used to be family friendly for the resort has turned into a upmarket restaurant with no children's menu. We were not going to spend $30 on a meal each for our children! Why they turned the bistro into a upmarket restaurant on a family resort has me confused as to why they did this. Children can't eat there!

We were so disappointed. $713 per night for a room in our view not fit for purpose and not as described to us. My husband had spoken with the owner Damien several times and not once did he come up and inspect the room. He seemed to be busy keeping an eye on the extensions he was doing on the resort. There was a lot of renovation noise too due to this and on many occasions, there were trady vehicles blocking off the entrance that many cars struggled to fit through.

We were given, however a few hundred dollars refund and they did replace the iron and send cleaners up to our room to clean what mould they could remove from the shower and cleaned the toilet. They also removed a lot of the bird doings on our balcony and on the chairs and many of the cobwebs. This should have never been here in the first place and we shouldn't have had to ask. For $713 per night, the room should be immaculate. In our view, it was the opposite and not as described. This really ruined our holiday and we won't be going back! I hope this is a wake up call to the owners and people won't experience what we had.

Friendly staff, great amenities and comfortable bedding. We stayed in 31 - a Spa Suite which was reasonably priced and well equipped. Fridge, microwave, toaster and a hot plate to cook in the room. Huge Spa Bath and generously spaced.
The trampoline area was awesome and the pool is great, would 100% recommend the food from restaurant/room service as our meals were so good and saved us from having to go out.
The tiniest bit of feedback we have for the room was perhaps cleaning of the blinds as there are alot of tiny bugs squished into them once being rolled down, tinted windows or net curtains could also be a good idea as anyone walking down the drive can see into your room if the blinds are up.
The door could also do with a stopper on the bottom, as our room had alot of mosquitos at night time come through the bottom of the door.
All-in-all, we loved our stat and can't wait to return.
Thank you.
