Great Eastern Hakka Restaurant

I have been going there from the past 12yrs and never had a problem with a food and fairly priced. If people really wanna pay less they should go to fast food restaurants.

This was my household go-to takeaway place during the lockdown. The food is simply delicious with less oil.

The service is amazing and staff are extremely friendly. My regular orders are Sweet Corn Soup, Manchurian Pizza, Spring Rolls and Hakka noodles (all Vegetarian made without eggs on request).

The food is still a bit exy for a takeaway order, hence, keeping the star rating same as the last review i.e. 4-star.

Overall, give the vego dishes a try and you surely won't be disappointed!

If you are craving for amazing food cooked by amazing people with love, this is the place for you. Steve and Alex are always keen to serve you utmost patience and love. All the dishes have vegetarian options which makes it a great place for vegetarians and they happily customise dishes for your dietary requirements.

Can't go wrong at this place, have been a regular for years and their food quality and taste has always been consistent.

We had ordered a Chicken Manchurian pizza, Chicken fried rice and chicken in garlic sauce. Overall, we were disappointed with what was delivered.

The chicken fried rice looked like it had a portion of frozen veggies from the supermarkets put in the rice. Those cubes of carrots and other veggies mixed in looked very familiar to how we get the at the supermarkets.
The garlic sauce for the chicken tasted nothing like garlic but felt more like a tomato based gravy.
The pizza had a hearty price tag but barely had 2 chicken pieces per piece and was topped with chopped onion and coriander. For a $20 pizza, that’s what we got!

P.s. The gravy and the rice had more quantity than what you can see in the photos

This place is a family favourite. Kids love the pizzas and we all love the food and the warmth the owners show every time we visit

Extremely poor customer service by the head chef. Doesn’t know how to handle and engage with customers.

Love hakka style noodles. The Chef spent quite a bit of time in Tengra, Calcutta that offered a wonderful fusion and variety

Fantastic Food, Probably the best Chinese I have had in Melbourne. I live in the west but try to keep coming here whenever possible.

Really delicious pizzas with creative toppings! Soft shell crab and duck were the standouts. Highly recommend!

My family & I have been going to Great Eastern Hakka ever since Steve & Alex started their restaurant. Authentic Hakka Chinese food which draws from Steve's heritage, and love the Swedish pizza! GEH is now a Mount Waverley institution and I hope you will continue to serve great food for many more years to come.

I had the Luleå pizza - excellent food, absolutely fantastic. Couldn't recommend it now

The base was home made, and well made at that, the sauce I didn't recognise, but had a curry tang to it.

Better testing pizza than most of the "Italian"pizza stores I am used to.

Good food and service, great Indian Chinese fusion food, interesting pizzas to chose from. Bit crowded but hey people are rushing to try their good food.

Honestly the best pizza in Melbourne. Staff and chef are incredibly welcoming and attentive. Have never had a bad meal here.
