Best Indian food in Melbourne. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful. Hint: the spiciness could make your food a nightmare, so make sure to not order it spicy.

Good Indian food and friendly staff. If you are looking for a really yummy Indian curry in CBD, I highly recommend this place. It’s just in the middle of the city, easy to get and have nice curry. Plus, all we had were affordable price.

Moved to Sydney and now Melbourne 11 months ago from the UK and I’ve finally found a decent curry. Chicken jalfrazi was on point with the authenticity and spice. You’ve got a new regular

We were visiting Melbourne and as we always do, we look at the reviews before ordering. With an online review rating of above 4, we thought we couldn’t go wrong with this restaurant. We definitely made the wrong decision by ordering food from this restaurant. When the food arrived at our hotel via Uber eats, there was no rice, no roti. Before the Uber eats driver left, I checked our order and noticed that these items were missing. The Uber eats driver then called the restaurant to confirm these items were missing and asked the restaurant what are the next steps to rectify the issue. The restaurant response was you will need to order again online or lodge a complaint via Uber eats. What a joke when you the restaurant didn’t provide me with what I originally ordered. I had 2 small hungry kids wanting their dinner and firstly the restaurant couldn’t get the order correct and then secondly dealt with the matter so poorly. How do you expect me to eat Indian food without rice? Also, the tandoori prawns were horrible. They weren’t fresh and they were soggy tasted like they were heated in a microwave. If I could give your restaurant a zero I would. Thanks for ruining our night.

Very unprofessional, I order something and they served something else and when I told them they served me the wrong dish, they insisted

This is the first one, 1 star I committed. Pic was too much better than the real meal. I had a super light dish which is sold at 20 dollars at original price. Just 5 to 6 pieces meet in the dish. Recommend others 5 stars don’t come here.

Stumbled across this place looking for H&M during the day and the owner was very helpful to direct me how to get there. We decided to come back for dinner with some mates and the food was delishhhhh. Heaps of flavour and great owners. We will be back every time we’re down from Newcastle.

I’ve only been in Melbourne for four weeks and love to explore the city and it’s interesting arcades and side streets. Last Friday night 05/07/2019 I was walking around and found this small little Indian place called the Gourmet Curry Hut. I love Indian food and though I’d give it a go.

I walked in and was soon seated the staff were amazing, friendly and inviting. Great customer service is very rare to find (I work in retail management)

I ordered the vegetable Samosas for starters. Two came out on a plate and were yummy, the accompanying sauce was perfect. At most Indian restaurants I now start to worry, after 49 years of eating Indian food from London’s west end to the Raffles hotel in Singapore, I’ve learnt one thing.most get the entree down pact and then fail at the main. To my joy and happiness the Curry Hut was the real deal. I ordered the Prawn jalfrezi for main. The prawns were full of flavour and the gravy was perfect. I ordered it in medium spice and couldn’t be happier.

The buttered nann bread was soft with just a hint of that charcoal flavour that makes a nann bread perfect. I’ll be ordering two next time, one is never enough when done this well.

The rice was soft and perfect, cooked to perfection from a team who care about making customers happy.

I couldn’t be happier than I was when I left.

Perfect food, amazing service and great value for money. I highly recommend you try this little gem out. Much more enjoyable than the Indian meal I had a few days earlier at Crown Casino.

My thanks to The Gourmet Curry Hut. I look forward to coming back to dine again very soon.

Best regards

Michael D.
