77 This is a place I would continue to come back to for vegetarian meals.
The menu contains a variety of flavours including sour, spicy, salty, sweetness, to produce a blend of praise-worthy dishes.
I have tried many before, although I do think that shared dishes in the menu are better than just individual noodle soup in this case.
Not easy to find parking, so recommend walking or tram in CBD.
Be mindful of the sign on the street before you find the elevator entrance to level three.
Great place for vegan chinese food.
Got the vegetarian dumplings noodle soup which was light and refreshing. The soup was the most flavourful element while the noodles were bland.
Expect to spend ~$20 for a meal here.
Quite a place hard to get table … food is very average lots of vegan and veg option … trying their best to sustain as vegan and veg restaurant.
Was a pretty good standard of flavours all round especially being vegan food. Would recommend!
Have walk past this place many times, but never knew it was all vegan.
Fried rice and dumplings were the best.
Went on a Sunday evening where it was very quiet, and the service was very slow and poor. However the staff are friendly, and I enjoyed the food. I like the concept of an entirely vegetarian Chinese restaurant though!
So good! I wish I lived in Melbourne so I could visit more often, but it will certainly be on my list of places to revisit
Long-term fan, food and service are usually always 5 stars. However, today I was very disappointed with the UberEats delivery received. A bit portion spilled due to poor packaging (no clingwrap, only the usual box+lid on) & reckless handling from driver. You can see in the photo how much has been leaked out. So while the driver's reckless handling wasn't their fault, I would still highly recommend better packaging for the future - don't just use the normal box + lid, it will easily open and spill like it did for me today. Still love your food, just very disappointed about the little, dry portions left in the food. Thanks!
Absolutely delicious vegan food! I definitely recommend.
Staff were very friendly and quick to serve. Portion sizes generous. Nice ambience.
I ordered the jade Buddha temple vegetable baozi, braised tofu with assorted mushrooms in claypot, and the double happiness flower tea. An absolute delight.
The pastry on the baozi is so fresh and chewy. The claypot is the perfect balance of spicy and numbing Szechuan. The tea is very delicate and complements the meal nicely, and so fun watching the flower ball unfurl.
When we reached level 3 by the lift, we did not feel welcomed as there was only one service attendant. Food was delicious, recommending the eggplant.
Great vegan Chinese food, very friendly service. Ate here twice in 5 nights during our trip to Melbourne
Service was good, priced reasonably. Came here twice already within the span of 4 days.
What I've had so far:
Fried Chicken Nuggets - Perfect. I need more of this. Definitely recommend.
Kung Pao Chicken - Great!
Mapo Tofu - Could use more mince but flavour is still good.
The first Vegan that my friend recommended and she invite for her birthday.almost 100% of the dishes was delicious and can changed meat lover to fall in love with. Salt n pepper squid so good. And the rest in the photo.will come back again soon.
Scrumptious food.definitely recommend coming here. It is very nicely decorated and homely, great service too. Will visit again
If you are searching for the perfect fried rice, then the Special Fried Rice provided by Gong De Lin is the best $15 you will ever spend.buy the Special Fried rice otherwise you are so silly.you will regret not getting the Special Fried Rice.thank you Gong De Lin for making me believe that the best fried rice does exist.
Food is amazing, customer service needs improvement. Only time we got a smile was to ask if we would like to leave tip while paying.
But I would still go back for the food.
This continues to be our go-to Buddhist (Asian/Chinese) vegetarian restaurant despite a tricky task to find parking but being in the CBD there's not much choice. Pricey but still worth it! Beats many others in Box Hill and other spots in the South East hands down! Weekends can get busy so book ahead.
Edit after 2 years: Nothing's changed - our favourite restaurant in Melbourne for over a decade! What to expect. If you're a fan of mock meats, this is absolute heaven. The Hot and Sour is just that - a lot of heat with strip's of mock ham, bamboo shoots, mock prawn, water chestnut, packed and wholesome. The sweet and sour mock pork is super authentic. We enjoy the R01 Fried Rice Casserole with the mock bacon strips. The green beans with tempeh is also amazing, although one may request less chili pieces. Sizzling black pepper lamb is again packed with flavour as well as a mix of delicious veggies including water chestnut, capsicum and carrot.
Always draws a crowd for great food and service. May be pricey, but you get what you pay for.
Great vegan option in the city. Can be packed so expect a wait time if you don’t have a booking. Extensive menu and good customer service
Amazing vegetarian food - Awesome Peking Duck rendition and must try A03 (fried mushroom with sweet and sour sauce). To top it off the manager Bonnie went out of her for us. Can't wait to go back! (I never thought I'd say that about a vegetarian restaurant.) Yum!
A hidden gem!
Love to see a some good vego and vegan options - so this place was heaven and the food didn’t disappoint at all. Even the lady serving us was very prompt and courteous.
