Golden Dragon Museum reviews
57The museum is a nice experience. I would just note that the museum is a bit small, it would be great to have a longer experience in the future
Visit this place if you want to have an insight on how Chinese was part of Bendigo mining culture.
Excellent museum to explore some real treasures from China. Great traditional Chinese garden and temple with free entry.
Really amazing museum with the longest dragon in the world! Beautiful artifacts and incredible documentation on the gold rush migration and how Chinese x Bendigo cultures intertwined through the years!
Excellent value, and an exceptional presentation of 150+ years of history and community.
Would recommend as a must see of anyone's visit to Bendigo.
Place needs a freshen up and the $30 family pass is a bit steep to get in for what it's worth.
Did you guys know you have live fishes in the ponds in the garden? Should probably take care of them. Most of them did not look healthy at all.
Really nice little museum located in Bendigo. Some interesting exhibits and insights into the Chinese migrants who worked in gold mines.
Some renovations taking place and should be finished by end of July. There is so much to see. It's colourful and historical. The outdoor gardens are great too.
We came at a bad time. They were doing renovation's and updating painting's. So sadly we didn't see the best of the garden's. However I found the Museum indoors very interesting.
Interesting experience learning about the history of China, a lot of artifacts to see, different types of dragons including the largest one held in Australia it measures 100 metres long, staff are helpful and courteous, reasonable price, recommend this museum.
Amazing displays with beautiful art work and interesting history of life in Bendigo. Loved the rich colours and designs. Would have liked to get a bit closer to some of the displays to get a better look and an audio option would be great. Thank you.
The world's largest Chinese dragon resides here. The introduction flyer about the Chinese people in Bendigo during the 19th century is very well written and informative. There are quite a lot of items in this museum but they have not been displayed nor labeled to their best advantage unfortunately especially given what they charge for entry.
Very interesting place to visit, lots of Chinese history to see. Absolutely magnificent artwork. Intricately carved pieces, from furniture to carriages. The work that went into the Dragons is amazing.well worth a visit. There is also a beautiful Chinese Garden to explore. There is a Temple as well, but that was closed for renovations.will go back again
Loved the history and the museum was excellent. Great exhibits and very helpful staff. Would recommend this place to visit.
This little hidden gem is a beautiful charm. There is a lot of history and information to learn here. It’s well looked after, friendly staff and we throughly enjoyed walking through and experiencing everything.
Nice place with a wide range of historical ancient Chinese heritage. I enjoyed the garden alot! A very peaceful garden in Chinese architecture style. A nice gift shop as well. Definitely worth a visit.
Interesting site, the garden is serene, the Dragons are beautiful and you learn a lot about the history of Bendigo.
It really is an excellent collection of local Chinese historical artefacts. Great to see the explanation of the symbolisms used in Chinese art. These should be put in more places to help people understand the symbols. Came here to specifically show the kids the longest dragon in Australia and also the jade carriage.
