Golden Crown Restaurant

Absolutely love this place. We've been there so many times. We take the family of 8 along. The kids are all made to feel welcome. The food is always the best quality and amazing price. Very good value for money.
Highly suggest this restaurant and we'll be going back again and again

Six years later after my first meal at the golden crown chinese restaurant, and still first class.

I’m rating this place with a huge dissatisfaction with the service, portion and value for money. The food is a hit and miss. It feels more like the mainland Chinese food and not Cantonese. Came here for lunch around 1pm with my family. Ordered some yum cha and mains. Sweet sour pork was extremely sweet, prawns was barely any and probably the saving grace was the vegetable and bean curd. The yum cha does not come with any sauce. No chilli oil, hoisin sauce or plum sauce. Nothing. When we asked the waitress, it seems so alien to them and not a welcoming vibe. Yum cha is passable.
Service is terrible. Not friendly, not informative.
Although the look and feel of the place is good. Well kept and clean.
Overall a 4/10. When the service is bad, everything else is relative. The food could not compensate.

Excellent food in general but thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday yum Cha with family group of 14. The dumplings short soup was a high lite.we also ordered a variety of delicious yum Cha treats (2 times 8 types) extra stir fried veg x2.and extra 2 meals 2 special fried rice.to share. All we received was very tasty except the glass noodle dumplings with peanut n something which most of us agreed wasn't terrible but Wierd texture. Service was very friendly with the boss lady also making the time to come say hello and ask if our meal was to our liking. This is my 4th visit and happily recommend friends to eat here. Atmosphere very traditional and comforting. Value for money. And super delicious meals. Enjoy

Pretty bland Chinese food, very underwhelming. It's overpriced for what it is. 100% don't recommend.

Not impressed at all food was quick.way too quick, servings very small, not worth the price, lacked any real flavour or quality, best part of the experience was my beer. This is the sort of place that stays open based on travellers and first timers as no one would waste their time or money going back.
My advice try somewhere else before settling on this restaurant!

Delicious, cheap and fast take away. Good value for money. Worth a visit and great for families. Beef with black bean sauce and Lemon Chicken were a favourite.

Visiting from adelaide food was very nice, prices on par with restaurants (roughly $18 to $24). Staff especially lady whom i assume was owner or manager very nice although one was bit forgetful but didnt ruin experience. Meals came quickly although was a Monday night so not as busy as other nights id assume

This used to be my go-to for Chinese food but after two bland meals and similar experience among friends, I now go elsewhere. Their satay was my favourite and a real treat but is now flavourless. Other meals okay but for the price it's very underwhelming. I assume their business is one-time tourists going to/from Sovereign Hill.
