Golden Crown Restaurant

Out of towners, made a booking for 7pm and when arriving we were told they had 5 other tables to serve in case we wanted to go elsewhere.maybe tell us that when we are booking or limit your walk ins if you can't deal. Waited 30 minutes before we were served but after that service was decent. Food was ok, certainly below average of your normal local Chinese.

Wonderfully kind staff, great tasting food and at a very reasonable price! Have been a couple times now and would happily make it my regular weekly takeaway/eat in spot. Fanta we had the most recent time we went was a little flat, but admittedly we had come in very soon to closing and were still welcomed with open arms so no complaints there! Very nice atmosphere, best chinese food I've had in Ballarat!

Traditional Chinese Restaurant that was very clean. The meals were tasty and staff were prompt and polite. Plenty of on-site parking. Would definitely go back again.

I've been looking for a good Chinese place and I finally found the best in Ballarat. Best honey chicken I've had since I was a kid. Awesome service, prices and atmosphere too.

The best Chinese food I have had in a very long long time, just found my new restaurant.
On time delivery food was amazing couldn't fault it thank you golden crown for the best dinner with my partner.

We ordered take away from here tonight, for the first time.
The food was amazing, we ordered a few selections and we were not disappointed.
We were greeted with a welcome and smile. We'll be back, for sure!

Waited ages to even be served, food took a long time, plates weren’t collected either were empty drinks, drinks weren’t being delivered, it wasn’t even a busy night and this happened. Not impressed

1st time last time. Dim Sims gluggy and tasteless. Fried rice mushy and tasteless. All the chicken dishes were very dry. No meal looked or tasted fresh. Oh well, we'll try somewhere else next time, because that was horrible.

The food was hit and miss. Had king prawns with garloc sauce and chicken with cashew nuts. Both were good but chicken had too much celery. The fried rice wasnt great with hardly anything closed to fried. The mushroom chicken soup was good but just warm and the fried chicken was horrible with a thick batter. All in all its way too costly for the quality

By far the best chinese food in ballarat, the restaurant is also very authentic and a great place for get togethers

We dined at golden crown tonight a family of 5, fantastic food, awesome service, very lovely people, most enjoyable meal definately highly recommend, can't wait to come back

The best Chinese! Clearly the previous reviewer is not a reasonable person. This Chinese restaurant has the best food, best service and well priced.

The most terrible and expensive take away we have had the misfortune to try and eat. Not being local (White Night) we expected better in Ballarat. Just letting you know don't waste your money!

Took my wife and her friends there for her birthday, great night lovely food; I asked my friends to give me a score for quality of food, they all scored maximun 5 stars.

We ordered a takeaway of 3 dishes and thoroughly enjoyed every piece of it, clean fresh and great tasting food, the staff are also very nice, thank you golden crown, we will definitely be backBirthday Party for 8 pax. Got moved to three different tables before finally settling for a round 8 seating table.

Meals arrived instantly indicating not freshly cooked. All meals tasteless. Would never eat there again.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here last night. We had honey chicken, special fried rice and vegetarian Singapore noodles. The staff were friendly and attentive and our meals were a good size, hot and tasty. We will definitely go back next time we are in Ballarat.

Duck soup to die for! We then had sizzling Mongolian beef with a large special fried rice. Good portions, lots of veggies and good service. Could not understand why this place is not packed solid.

Great food, clean, awesome service recommend to be very clear when ordering as we ordered two entrees but only got one. Over all experience was great

It worst the food I have ever eaten! Absolutely disgraceful. To make it worse was undercooked and an absolute rip off! So many great asian places to eat from in Ballarat stay away from this one! 3.5 stars they deserve 1/2 of 1 it was disgusting!
