Geelong Cellar Door

Great little wine bar in Geelong. Came here for lunch to graze on some cold cuts, cheese and to sip on some wine. Atmosphere was great, sitting outside watching the world go by. Service was attentive too. Charcuterie was fresh and ample for two people. Nice little venue. Will definitely come back next time we’re in Geelong.

We were in Geelong for a few days and visited the wine bar twice! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the local area and there’s a great selection of local wines. It’s great to see the local vineyards being promoted. Highly recommend a visit. I will definitely be back next time I’m in Geelong

Excellent place for a wine. You can fine al kind of taste and grapes. Tempranillo, siraz, pinot, chardonay, and so on. I do recomend to buy there. I must, definetely. Well done

Relaxed atmosphere, decent selection of local wines. Unfortunately I'm not a wine guy, but I had most fruity beer ever. Highly recommend Blackmans Juicy Banger Lager!

The local wine bar and small producer bottle shop that every neighbourhood wishes it had. Friendly and professional staff, knowledgeable on the local wines and providing flawless premium service. Great thought put in to the Plumm glassware, charcuterie, cheeses and bar foods. Fantastic range of wines, and a beautiful space to inhabit with lots of types of very comfortable seating both inside, outside and in a private courtyard. Loved it, we'll definitely be back.

What a treasure! As visitors from interstate, we were keen to try many of the local wines.
The service was impeccable - time was taken by staff to share their knowledge of the extensive range on offer and we savoured a fabulous charcuterie platter, filled with very tasty, different and delicious locally sourced goodies!

We can always rely on Geelong Cellar Door for a lovely time. We pop in almost every time we head into town for fun. Delicious wines, specialty beers, yummy platters and a fantastic atmosphere. Our go-to for a great time. See you again soon!

Love the atmosphere in this establishment, the staff/owner is super friendly and would definitely recommend coming here to “wine down” and relax.

Always good, cosy and friendly atmosphere and lots of fine wines. Especially, from the surrounding wine region, so it really is Geelong's Cellar Door. But also good sharing plates of cheese, pate, chacuterie etc.

My original review was 2018. "Tiny pours. High prices. Bad service. Won't allow tastings before a purchase. Ended up with a dissappointing wine and a bad taste in my mouth. "
I changed my review based on a response I got 4 years later (2022). I think you can judge a business from the way they handle negative feedback. I've added 2 stars for the very nice, considered response. I'll put my experience down to a one-off, but will reserve the full 5 stars only if my in-person experience is better second time around. I live in Brisbane but next time I'm in Geelong.

Rude and simple staff – was told by staff that if a bigger group arrived, my wife and I would need to vacate our chosen table space. I would have gladly offered to do this if asked with even a little tact. When I raised this with staff, the reply was ‘it’s just the way we do things around here’.

I literally had $500 burning a hole in my pocket and nowhere particularly to be that evening. Instead, we had one drink, an average cheese platter and spent our time & cash elsewhere. Fools.

Great local wines and sparkling, fabulous tasting plate, we had the goats cheese platter was amazing!

It’s a fascinating place! They’ve an amazing variety of local wines, beer and cider. Service is very friendly, with a sophisticated atmosphere that characterises wine lovers. I enjoyed a glass of red wine and a combination platter a selection 2 cheeses and 2 meats with dried fruits, nuts and more… It’s an excellent place to enjoy a romantic night with your partner, or visit with your family or friends. If you’re in Geelong you must visit this place.

Really lovely surroundings for a glass of wine and cheese board. A roaring fire on a chilly and windy day made it all the more welcoming.

Beautiful local wines at a very reasonable price. We got there too late to try the menu, but I will definitely go again due to the quality of the wines!
