Honestly the worst service i have EVER experienced and food was average, i have no idea why this place is so highly raved about

I’m pretty sure I write a review ahead, bottom line was over priced ordinary food. Nothing special, although I enjoyed the video of the French waiters, until they did shots at the bar and ignored all of the customers. I won’t be back, Paris Gi offers extraordinary food for a little less dollars, bonus!

Over cooked, dry pork chop and so salty it was barely edible (and I love salt). Ordinary white fish fillet. Champagne served within a nanosecond of sitting down, with no explanation about price. Way too overpriced. Lots of fan-fare and yes the birthday singing was appreciated, but sadly the food was very ordinary.

: Have heard about France Soir South Yarra and their delicious food for a while now, but haven’t gotten the chance to try it. So to celebrate end of exams, we went to France Soir for a hearty dinner a few days ago?

️: Such a busy restaurant, packed with hungry customers. After trying the food, we immediately understood why. Literally loved everything, from their bread and butter to stimulate our appetite, to mains like Fish Fillet, Duck Confit, and perfectly cooked? Steak with fries and salad.

Don’t miss out on their desserts like the crème brûlée, so smooth and creamy, a heavenly taste that cannot be compared.

Great restaurant - as per usual at a French restaurant, I chose the duck for the main which was succulent and perfectly cooked. They happily catered for my friends dietary requirements too (replaced chips with salad etc) This place was packed on a Wed night - waiters were rushing around a lot but still managed to provide good service. Service has improved from the last time I was here around 5 years ago.

Wonderful food, I just wish I had a better knife for my huge, delicious ribeye steak (600g). Staff was friendly and attentive. $$$

Bravo to the attentive and friendly Aussie waiter which was a warm surprise when compared to the other French wait staff we encountered

France soir might have fabulous food and great selection of alcohol but it is very much a quaint restaurant with elbow to elbow sitting.

Expect an intimate setting with noise that travels through the restaurant, plates that completely fills the table leaving no room for even cutlery.

Overall was a pleasant experience, just know that the place is not known for large sitting arrangements.

Amazing food. And one of the best wine lists around. Service is relaxed and friendly. Love that u can get lunch anytime from midday. And byo option also everyday except saturday i think. Wanted to go back the next day. Not cheap, but for the quality, its definitely worth it

Best real French Brasserie outside of Paris. A must for traditional French cuisine fans in Melbourne

Great little spot with a nice atmosphere, perfect for a date with your partner. Service was attentive. Incredible wine selection. Highly recommend the escargot.

Excellent french restaurant in South Yarra which brings the very essence of Paris. Pair the excellent menu with an exquisite wine and it's even more fun with a date! My hubby's favourite to remind him of home.

The restaurant is not what it used to be.

I have always enjoyed getting desert from France-Soir in the past, I'm glad I skipped it, this sitting.

Superb cuisine. Excellent service. Good wine menu. Atmospheric decor. You could be in Paris or anywhere else in Europe

Brought my wife here for her birthday and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely food and great service.

You feel like you are in France with the full on atmosphere.

Our waiter was really friendly with good knowledge.

We got complimentary bread and butter with our entrees.

Entrees was baked goat cheese with salad and red tuna tartare.
Beautiful flavor!

Steak were amazing cooking, you don’t even need a sauce because of the good meat.

Dessert was kind of an apple pie, really good too.

Some specials were lacklustre, good scallop infused in wasabi (but sml portion), average crab salad, fantastic creme brulee, skip the crepes

Favourite restaurant in south yarra and the best french in melbourne. Great selection of wines and delicious food. The staff are friendly and it’s very cosy.

Takes be back to Paris without the attitude. Amazing authentic French brasserie, awesome good and an even better wine list to match. Small though so be sure to book well in advance but a must for French lovers.
