Fourth Chapter is always crowded whenever you drive by - and for good reason! Some highlights from my recent meal there:
1. The big brekkie was quite distinct from other places because they added saganaki to the usual brunch suspects. Loved that the bacon was fried perfectly and had the perfect meat: fat ratio.
2? Fourth chapter also always experiments with its waffles - the sweet potato waffle I had was delicious and a healthy alternative. I have also tried their beetroot waffle during my previous visit and that was quite unique!
3. The raspberry and strawberry pancake is best shared! The three pancakes were huge - we could only finish two even though we loved every bite. The coconut flakes, combined with ice cream, fruits and honey made quite a decadent brunch.
4. We also opted to wash down our meals with a healthy green smoothie. Loved the hemp seed and coconut flake toppings in my smoothie - there was a strong banana aftertaste and great for those who aren’t really hungry. I
5. I’ve had their açai bowls here too and they are delicious and HUGE! Highly recommended during the summer

Thank you for the kind invitation ️

Just fantastic. Hands down the best cafe in Prahran, despite being a bit out of the way. Excellent service and top quality food and coffee. Tends to be quite busy so expect a wait if you are here at a high volume time, such as weekend brunch. Regular feature on "top cafe" / "top brunch" lists, a favourite in Melbourne. Make sure to check out the beautiful front door set in glass too!

My first experience with the Melbourne food scene and it doesn’t disappoint. I would definitely make another stop here. Must try the açaí bowl, eggs and bacon brioche, and sweet potato waffles.

One of my All time favourite places to have coffee and good breakfast on nice winter days. It is nice and warm inside. Never got disappointed. The barista good and try’s doing lot of coffee art.
The place was nice, clean and fresh.
Worth trying this place. There are few more dishes which I need to come back to try. Can’t wait to visit this lovely and warm place again. There is street parking available near the cafe.

Rude inattentive staff with very poor service. I would suggest going some where with actual customer service.

Such a nice cafe! The back court yard was perfect for a nice summers day. It is quiet and the water feature is really nice addition. The staff are very friendly! The chicken bao is absolutely delicious. The crunchy coating of the chicken contrasted with the soft fluffy bao was incredible. The aioli had a nice spice to it. The nourish bowl was full of delicious flavours and wholesome foods. The cauliflower falafels were delicious and the tzatziki was so fresh and complimented the elements in the dish. The granola was incredible. So much flavour in one dish. The perfect sweet dish! The panna cotta was amazing and worked to well with the crunchy granola. The açai was delicious and refreshing. The coyo balanced the dish nicely! The fresh juices were so nice and a perfect palette cleanser. The chai was amazing, along with the smoothie. Definitely recommend this place for a nice brunch.

The food is pretty and vibrant, but it's alright. Their coffee is the real standout. People waiting for tables inside makes an extremely cramped, loud and distracting dining experience. Best to go during the weekdays when it's not so jammed.

I went with the family to celebrate a birthday and sat in the rear courtyard. We had excellent meals. I had the southern fried chicken bao with sweet potato fries and it was exceptional. I’ve been here before and it didn’t disappoint. Will definitely be back again. Thank you.

A really stunning cafe in Melbourne's Eastern suburbs. Right next door to Victoria Gardens, this cafe is in a prime spot! There is ample parking available too:) We sat outside in their back courtyard which was lovely and quiet, and staff were consistent with their lovely service. Coffees came out quickly and tasted delicious, and food didn't take long either. We ordered the Raspberry and Coconut Vegan pancakes, Nourish bowl and Roast Pumpkin Salad, as well as a Peanut Butter Cup smoothie to share! Everything looked and tasted absolutely incredible. The flavours were great, and the dishes were was huge in portion sizing. Really loved my visit here and can't wait to come back again!

Very bad experience! We ordered magic, while they brought a cup of coffee with super thick milk. And the brunch with mushroom is horrible. The mushroom is super NOT FRESH. It tastes wired and fishy. While their attitude was even worse, We told them the mushroom is not fresh, just to help them improve while they even gossip behind us also made faces. It’s my birthday brunch with friends, it’s a disaster!

Fourth Chapter had been SO highly recommended to me for a while and I am so glad I got around to visiting it. I am however upset that it took me so long to do so! A gorgeous cafe in a beautiful area. We opted for the outside area, which had the perfect amount of sunshine and was surrounded by gorgeous greenery. We ordered the Raspberry and Coconut Vegan pancakes, Nourish bowl, Roast Pumpkin Salad and a Peanut Butter Cup smoothie. I also had a Chai latte.

Firstly, let me emphasise that the delicious, fluffy and sweet pancakes that arrived at my table are also completely vegan! The flavours were absolutely made for each other and they are cooked to absolute perfection. The Nourish Bowl & Roast Pumpkin Salad were the perfect dishes for someone who loves some greens and veggies for breakfast. The serving sizes were huge and they were full of flavour. Lastly, both of the drinks I had were great. The Chai was delicious but OH MY the smoothie! I am a huge peanut butter fan but I find some cafes do it too bitter or too sweet. Well they got it just right here!

The staff were amazing. Incredibly attentive and friendly.

Thank you!

Disappointing experience despite really wanting to like Fourth Chapter.
Arrived early on a Sunday before it got busy- cafe was only half full. Service was slow and disjointed, even though there were lots of staff floating past. Coffee was very average- the barista distracted with his phone in one hand while making coffee might possibly have something to do with it. Food was cold and lacked flavour despite looking good. My dish was “Green Fields” which consisted of mostly bitter kale and broccoli stalks, and I needed a magnifying glass to find the enoki mushrooms! The dish needed something else to balance the flavours.
In general the cafe lacked atmosphere. Left regretting my cafe choice - such a pity as the place has such potential.

The food was nice, and the staff were lovely.but this place doesn't live up to instagram hype. The decor inside is basic and boring and the place was freezing cold. Didnt feel very special.

We chose to go to this restaurant on our family day off, we drove all the way from the north side to visit this cafe as an experiment to try out the food.

We ordered:

•The eggs on toast

Was fine as this was for our 11yr old son, he also got a delicious muffin from the stand, which was soft and not too sweet, he picked the apple and berry crumble muffin.

The big breakfast

Was old fashioned, halloumi was cooked as it should be, sweet potato waffle was a nice accompaniment, fried bacon and scambled egg

• Smashed avo

Was the least to be desired, although we have to say the manager handled our issue very well.the poached egg was overcooked, the halloumi cheese was hard, and the rye bread under the smashed avo was probably old or over toasted, like a rock.service was great, if it wasnt for the front of house team save we would have left disappointed with our first visit to fourth chapter.

Loving the simplicity of the @fourth_chapter menu! Great to see them serving up some real quality go-to favourites! Went down with @mr_iona to check out this awesome set up and mad vibe! Sometimes its the simple things that make the best menu choices simple double cheeseburger with delicious medium beef patties, generous serving of tasty cheese, sweet pickles and sauce on a soft bun! Doesn't get any better than this.
.
TIP - definitely don't sleep on the hotcakes! They're ridiculous triple stack of heaven!

Relaxed and welcoming. Options to eat in or out in the north facing court yard. Food is interesting, easy on the eyes, fresh and tasty. Staff are attentive and helpful.

Coffee, breakfast and service were all amazing.

But upon leaving I realised I had spent $22 on a almond latte and meal of sides (avo, saganaki and 1 slice of toast) I think I must have been charged around $7 for 1 slice of toast? Just a little confused on how the meal was priced.

I tried to call twice once I left but no answer.

Disappointing because everything else was great

Extremely popular cafe and it’s easy to see why. Hands down the best cafe in the area. Excellent service, great vibes and the food is incredible. Coffee is very good and never disappoints. Highly recommend to anyone who’s traveling or staying in the area.
