Forest Glade Gardens reviews
70 Beautiful garden, partly natural setting, also small but nice Japanese garden. Some fitness required climbing stairs, some sloping ground. Plenty of paths suitable for wheelchairs but many parts of the grounds not accessible by wheelchair. 11: 00 to 4: 00 p.m. $10 entry fee p.p.
No cafe on the premises, but there is a pub just down the road and a cafe. Limited street parking and care needed not to fall in the roadside ditch. Also very muddy when raining.
Beautiful gardens to stroll around and admire the different trees, plants and themes. Thoroughly enjoyed my time there and will be returning soon to see autumn at its best. Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden.
These gardens are amazing and a must do especially in autumn with the stunning display of colours. I plan to revisit again in the Spring to enjoy a different experience with new growth and flowering plants. The Japanese garden was the highlight of my visit
Big scam. Absolutely no where to park and got $187 fine from the council. Park was nice but only 1 toilet with 30 minute queues
A garden of superb autumn colours. A lot of design interest and many beautiful pieces of garden art. I would love to visit again in spring. Entrance is $10, the garden is dog friendly if on a leash, and there are many stairs so perhaps not ideal if wheels are required.
Beautiful gardens that must have been in the making for many decades.well worth spending a few hours in this delightful garden.
Parking is a problem. Walking in the Forest a bit confusing, statues displayed has no description as to why it's there unless it's only a decorative. Disappointed with the autumn trees not as many and bright as what we expect. Advertising should indicate what do we expect once we get there as I saw some people not wearing the proper walking shoes. It's our first time visit didn't expect there would a lot of stairs. One positive one guy is very helpful and friendly he's the one staying outside and wait for the coach to come. Otherwise it's ok and the place has history.
Great private garden well maintained and looked after. Perfect on an autumn day out or for a picnic. Parking is a little problem so recommend using the shuttle.
Rude staff only cares about money! I asked for toilet paper as there was none left the person at the front counter did not provide any at all. There was only 4 toilets inside and the line was so long. My dad complained and the staff told him to leave said they would give him a refund of $10 but there was 7 of us in total. They didn’t want to refund $70 as it was too much for them. There was probably over hundreds of people paying to just go inside!
Save your money and go somewhere!
Beautiful garden in Macedon. Would say a must visit if you are visiting Macedon and love nature. Suggesting visiting it in the season when flowers is in full bloom. The garden itself has various sections. I loved Japanese garden the most. Lot of spots to take beautiful photos. Lot of beautiful sculptures throughout the garden.
A beautifully curated garden. Well worth the visit. A place you could spend many hours wandering and staring at natural beauty as it surrounds you.
It's a work in progress. You can get lost because the map doesn't show you if some walk ways have stairs or not. Plus the biggest issue is there aren't any signs when you go down a few steps
We attended a wedding and it was an amazing place. I have driven past multiple times heading up to the cross and was happy to be able to attend the gardens. Its a large place to explore and we will be going back again soon.
Peaceful. Beautiful spot for a picnic. You do have to pay to get in. Has toilets but no baby change/family room.
Also a lot of the paths are not shown on the map. Not many paths suitable for a pram. Gorgeous day out!
We had lunch with our son on Sunday. The food was delicious. I do not like swordfish as it is always tough. My husband ordered it and I am now a swordfish eater. It was so tender and tasty. I had the lamb and my god it was tender and tasted delicious. We had the mussels and prawns. We recommend this cafe The management and staff are extremely friendly. 10/10 for this one
It's a beautiful garden and worth a visit if you are in the area.it can be a pleasant walk around the garden. The gentleman who gave us the ticket was really nice and welcoming. However, I wouldn't recommend going here in warm summer days as it can be very hot and you wouldn't be able to enjoy as much.
If I could give this place a ZERO I would. Employees are extremely rude. Parking is not safe as well as the tracks in the garden. Called the owner of the place twice in regards to the toilet paper and soap being finished in the toilet services they provide and he argued and raised his voice stating that the toilets are for public use and that there is no mandatory obligation that they need to refill these. HOWEVER continued to argue that the garden was private which made no sense. They know how to take $10 for entry so they must make sure the services they provide are able to be used. Very RUDE staff. He stated that he will come and refill when it was convenient for him.
WARNING don't Park on the main road in front of the garden, as it's a no standing zone with the Police having a field day booking everyone.
You can park in the streets off the main road.
This is a amazing garden with so many styles within it.
From a Italian garden to a Maple walk, it's all worth it.
Very nice relaxing garden with an interesting history, not very pram friendly friendly, so don’t bring one. Absolutely worth the $10 entry fee
Not bad - we visited in mid May, when the leaves of autumn had already fallen. I think this place would be stunning in Spring, summer and Autumn. But in winter, it was a bit lacklustre, and $10 per person feels steep. Overall some of the structures could do with a fresh coat of paint, some railings repaired, and it just felt like there wasn’t frequent upkeep in the colder months. The parking situation outside is also horrendous - looks like the local council need to do something about this. Expect to wait a very long time time for a car park in the busy months on weekends - we saw a ranger handing out at least a dozen parking tickets in the 15 minutes we were looking for a spot.
