Been coming here for years but the last 5-6 months I’ve noticed it’s gone down hill with the new owners and it’s not an inviting environment. Very understaffed, dishes everywhere. I was served by a girl who seems to be no older than 10 who had no idea what she was doing very very poor customer service and very sloppy work just chucked my cake in the bag didn’t even say have a good day or goodbye. Seems that the owners have no idea what they are doing and clearly don’t know the regulars that are from the area. They don’t even sell any bread products anymore very poor menu now. It’s a bakery come on people!

There must have been a change in management since my last visit. The atmosphere and food has definitely gone down hill. There were only a few cake/sweet options with one display case showing chocolate bars. There were not many hot options either. We got the chunky beef pie and a pastie (pumpkin and bean) the pie meat was really chewy and the pastry really thick. The pastie was horrible.
It’s so disappointing, it use to be such a great place to stop for lunch.

Always a pleasure to stop here. Car park is at the front and the shop is clean, neat and has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Staff are welcoming and pleasant. The bakery has a reasonable selection of tasty sweet and savoury items which are baked fresh on the premises. Well done Flying Tarts!

Very good bakery and well worth a look if you’re out this way. I had the chicken and Camembert pie and the workers pie (bacon, egg and cheese), with a lemon tart for dessert. They don’t charge for those little plastic sauce thingies (which is how it should be). Only issue I had was the young lady that served us (she was very pleasant) but she picked up all our cutlery by the end (the end which goes into our mouth), and I found that fairly disgusting.

Very poor service. Very little choice for lunch. Not the best place for elderly to have a lunch. Toilets not very clean too.

This place has gone downhill!
Dirty (floor, tables) and tired decor.
They totally forgot our coffee order with our lunch. Very poor selection of items (1pm on a Saturday). Will definitely be giving this once great establishment a wide berth from now on.

Slowly deteriating, food was ok for a pie but not much in the way of cakes and it wasn't quite lunch time

Next level delicious food and beautiful area. I love, love, love the cauliflower, broccoli and cheese pie. Ordered a mud cake for my daughter’s birthday and it was the best cake I’ve ever eaten (I don’t even like cake) and there was not a piece left. Totally worth the drive up the mountain. I appreciated the home delivery during lockdown too.

Still in the afterthrows of covid, (in store food and drinks are still being served in take away cups and bags, and chairs and tables still widely spaced, feeling sparse). But that in by no means 'takes away' from the quality of the food. Massive vanilla slices and plenty of sweet pastries to choose from. Go early if you want bread, sold out when we arrived. Only negative for me was that the coffee was way too hot.

Best pies ever but service needs to improve. (Maybe a smile and a hint of enthusiasm) I also tried the pre-made salad roll and it was unfortunately very bland. No salt and pepper and roll was soggy from obviously wet lettuce. Disappointed but still the pie was pretty amazing!

Visited on Friday the pies and cakes are amazing. The owner is a beautiful host. Gave us amazing service and places to visit locally. If you are driving past a must try the meat pies. Great family business.

Yummy raspberry cheesecake, excellent coffee too. Hidden on main road, easy to miss but make the effort. Great ambience.

The pies were yummy and very fresh. Snag Roll (cheese and bacon) was beautiful, it was really tasty and nice and hot. The coffee was the nicest coffee i have ever had and went well with the apple cake i couldn’t resist. Nice little drive from Greensborough to Kinglake West in the old VW we will be going back again for sure.

Had a chunky beef pie, was yuk.more crisily,
Poor quality meat. Then got a chocolate mouse, to get ride of the taste, it was also so, so had better.
