Fitzroy Painting

I highly recommend taking the 'Oil Painting for Beginners Level 1' course with Kez. After forgetting what I had learned in school (over a decade ago) and not making much progress with YouTube tutorials, this course was incredibly helpful. I learned a lot and feel way more confident practicing at home. Excited for Level 2!

I loved the seasonal watercolour classes with Judith Van Heeren. Relaxed, fun and inspirational!

I just completed the 4 week drawing class, Julian was our teacher. I just loved it and he was so informative, I really felt that I knew more by the end of the course. I hope Fitzroy painting can run more classes just like this the life drawing at the end was amazing. Thank you so much Julian and the rest of the class were so nice to be with. I felt totally immersed in the whole experience.

The class was amazing! The women were so lovely and accommodating as I had to reschedule the first class I’d booked. The class was a Christmas gift from my husband. Such a thoughtful gift for someone who doesn’t need much. I loved it. Highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed Oil Painting level 2. The studio environment is so well setup and welcoming. Rachael was so knowledgeable and helpful. I completed the course feeling more confident and excited to learn more.

Kez was an amazing teacher and made colour theory incredibly easy to understand. Each lesson, oil painting became more and more interesting; highly recommend the beginner course!

I loved Drawing Studio 1! As a beginner who hadn't drawn since school I found the environment to be welcoming, inclusive and relaxing, with a mix of people from different levels of drawing experience. I learnt a lot in the classes and feel far more confident creating on my own now - the course is great value for money. Julian is a patient, supportive and engaging teacher. The studio is well stocked with quality supplies and the snacks are great:)

Wow. I haven’t held a paintbrush since school. I truly loved the beginner oil painting course. Kez is such a patient, fun and great teacher. She helped me see and believe that I could really really be able to paint. Brilliant.

I did one week of the summer course for oil painting and it was wonderful. I learnt a lot, teachers are inspiring, helpful and patient and I recommend their courses for anyone interested in improving their skills in a relax and friendly environment.

Very practical and helpful painting course!
I have tried learning from Youtube on portrait painting, but only got real results from this 2-class course at FitzroyPainting with Rachael.
She taught me step by step, I learned everything with details. I will come back for other oil painting courses at this studio. Great experience, strongly recommended!

I took part in an excellent two-part workshop with Rachel Robb at Fitzroy Painting which focused on painting portraits in monochrome using the grisaille method. I love learning new oil painting techniques and learning Rachel's technique was both fun and rewarding. Good size class meant Rachel was able to spend time helping all her students, highly recommend.

The teachers at Fitzroy Painting are informative and encouraging and the classes are great for aspiring artists looking for direction and motivation. Special thanks to Rachel for her guidance over the past month.

Such an awesome place; the teaching is excellent, atmosphere is creativity-inducing, I wish I never had to leave!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Beginners Oil Paint 4 week program. What a fantastic studio and setup, Rachel was fantastic and extremely supportive. So much fun and I have found a new hobby. I will be back for the Level 2 class soon!
