Fitzroy Gardens reviews
64What a beautiful serene garden right next to the CBD. Extremely well maintained and autumn colours are just amazing there. Inside the gardens there is a miniature village which is very beautiful. Highly recommended
Excellent place to have relax myself after lunch, Cook's Cottage, Conservatory are my favourite places.
Fitzroy Gardens is a nice peaceful park just a short tram ride away and great to escape the hustle and bustle of the CBD. Being summer everything was lush and green with a beautiful display of flowers especially in the conservatory and absolutely gorgeous hygrandeas surrounding a small cottage. Great care taken by the garden and park workers
Really lovely and well kept gardens. Small cafe on site. Captain Cook's Cottage is by the cafe which you can explore for a small entry fee. The usual water features and green house. Plenty of areas to sit and relax, with on street parking as well as Wilson's Parking by the Eye+Ear hospital.
By far my favorite place to just hang out, read a book, relax and picnic. I've had one of my birthdays here also and a friend was able to get a food delivery.
There is a lot of space so you can usually find a spot in the shade. The grass is always lush.
It's a relaxing place to walk or sit with several water features, art, a tiny cottage and fairy tree.
There are a few water fountains around to grab a quick drink and refill your water bottle.
Occasionally there are events held here, so you might get some free live music or see some food trucks, and if it's the weekend expect to see a few wedding photoshoots or even an actual wedding.
A shady green oasis to the east of the city, with plenty of attractions and a visitor centre. Make sure to check out the model Tudor village and Captain Cook’s cottage.
Absolutely beautiful with variety of trees and flowers. Historic Cooks cottage, mini village and the fairy tree adds more to its beauty and value.
Nice place to walk, just make sure if you go in the night you don’t get sprayed by the sprinklers!
Superb place for a day out or picnic. Nice surroundings, green-ish environment makes it a lovely stay.
Melbourne does not have a shortage of gardens and Fitzroy has to be one of the prettiest with a variety of spaces ranging from wide open patches of lawn to intimate lush tropical vegetaion with a meandering path and stream, some heritage structures and a conservatory, it's lively on a sunny day and one can enjoy the perennials during late winter/Spring.
A very pretty garden, I enjoyed very much wondering about with a dear friend of mine, reminiscing on simpler times, appreciating the view, listening to the trickle of water, giggling at the waddle of a local Pacific Black Duck, I can not recommend it highly enough
Beautiful, gigantic, well kept and well-maintained public gardens. Fantastic place for a walk, a run, a place to do some thinking, I’ll just sit on the grass in the sun and enjoy the day, overall very quiet, extremely spacious, you’ll have no problem finding a quiet spot of your own to relax and enjoy.
It's great. One of the best parks in all of Melbourne and I would go further and day the World. If you visit Melbourne this is a must visit spoilt. Large established trees, broad promenades, luscious grass. Heaps of shade.
Fitzroy Gardens is a beautiful park in East Melbourne. I met a few friends for the afternoon here.
Beautiful place for all kinds of activities, whether it be a picnic, a walk, jog or a run. It’s got beautiful scenery and views at all corners, great for nature lovers
A huge park where you can spend your day or go for a walk with ease… always well-kept and has some of the best garden views near the cbd!
You will spend entire day and still may not be able to cover all lovely nook and corners. Loved the day spent and kere kere green Cafe is such a sweet place to grab coffee, snacks and amazing customer service.
Lovely park on the outskirts of the city. Lots to explore including the model Tudor village, the conservatory & Captain Cook's Cottage.
Fitzroy Gardens is the most favourite and best place to refresh your mind and enjoy. There are lots of things to do in these Gardens. I like The mini city and near the city there is a fairly tree. The play ground is so beautiful for kids. You can walk around the Gardens and enjoy the amazing views in the centre of the city. There are lots of fountains and small areas of water. I advise you to visit this beautiful place and enjoy it.
Beautiful ponds, hidden pathways, picnic lawns, bench seats & a little cafe near Cooks Cottage was even open during Covid lockdown. The only thing I didn't see were picnic tables and it was a bit difficult to find a parking spot.
