Ferntree Gully Hotel

Clean and quiet! Needed a room for a couple of days over Christmas for a family get together and the Night Cap Hotel at the Ferntree Gully hotel was very convenient location as it was only 5 minutes from the gathering. I was happy to find a very clean well maintained room with tea and coffee making facilities, plenty of towels and an iron and ironing board. Great place to stay for the budget conscious.

Wow, I can't believe after 30years I still go to one of South Easterns venues once called the Middle! It also has motel rooms called Garfields. The Fern Tree Gully Hotel has a bistro, pokies, function rooms, public bar, drive through bottle shop and much much more! It has changed alot but still looks the same on the outside lol. Its located right next to JZ motors. Its a must try. 5 stars from me

Jacqui went out of her way as a new manager to contact myself and speak over the issues. Jacqui was very apologetic and I appreciate the fact she didn't try hide or deny a bad review but took the initiative to discuss and rectify the situation.
We and other family members have stayed here numerous times and my Mum was a lover of The Feast before she passed away.

Absolutely disgusted. We stayed there and yes it is cheap enough however it reflected in the lack of cleaning and maintenance. What seemed to be black mold in the shower. Dust all over the fan in bathroom. Shower door was a hazard and would not close properly.
Some kind of splatter on bedroom wall. Sheets never changed in the 3 nights staying there. Floors not even vacuumed.
Then The Feast.well I love this place usually. When I come to Melb I make a point of going there. This time my husband got a dessert for me and when I went to eat it I saw mold. I told the function manager and he said sorry I will take it up with the chef. I told my husband when he returned to the table and he said "Oh there is more like that up there. "
So I went to see and found another. I then took this one to the counter and said "I think you need to pull this from the desserts as it is the 2nd one I have found and it is disgusting. " Gosh knows if anyone actually ate any with mold. Once again was told they would tell the chef.
Then for the last 15mins of our dining time I was glared at by two staff and one chef like I had done something wrong.
I have photos and will be taking it further for the utter disgraceful treatment that we got for advising you of a bad situation.

Fantastic, inexpensive, clean, quiet an comfortable accommodation. Will definitely visit again if in the area.

Went with a family group on a Sunday for the "all you care to eat". What a sensational spread of food. All well presented and endless choice of entree, mains and desserts. Value for money. Wish I could have tried everything, but alas, I filled up on entrees, salads and veggies and didn't even make the roasts and dessert. Yum!

Had lunch in the sports bar on Thursday 19 march 2020 was the biggest mistake of my life.
. L ordered fish and chips and my wife had the roast of the day.
Food was out in five minutes and was cold, chip where soggy and fish was something out a packet obviously everything was precooked and kept in an inefficient warmer.

My daughter's 21st was held in 'the Middle ' function room last weekend. The finger food selection and quality was outstanding. Donna and Jacqui went above and beyond with the service, decorating and attention to detail, right down to finding rose gold balloons. The bar and wait staff were very professional, including making sure our guests with dietary requirements received food from the special platters we ordered.
Our guests raved about the venue and indicating they would make future bookings.
We had such a fabulous, stress free evening, I strongly recommend you book your next event here!

Great selection of food always delicious. Wine list is varied. Good play area for kids. Staff are polite and helpful. Price reasonable

A clean, spacious room, with a large bathroom and fantastically comfortable beds. The late check in was beyond helpful to me as I'd rushed a family member up to the hospital and needed to find somewhere to sleep at the last minute.

Came down to watch the UFC today and just before the five main cards were about to start it was turned off for Melbourne vs Carlton haha

Close by the hotel and on the main road but it wasn't noisy. Big comfortable bed and the very helpful receptionist made my stay enjoyable.

Just had our engagement party here. Event staff were great, accessible and accommodating. They took care of organising everything. Floor/bar staff on the night were very friendly. The whole evening was quite affordable and a lot of fun.

Turned up @ 10am Kelly the receptionist said they don't have rooms until 2pm they are all being clean we have 35 of them I told her I only need one, she acused me of being rude.
Communication broke down I told her I wont be staying here because of her attitude.
No customer focus, not the sort of employee you want running your business. If I owned the place she would, not be working there.

The room was very clean had a great nights sleep. The staff were marvellous from reception to the cleaning staff. Would have liked it if we had a breakfast buffet but I would still come back

Bathroom had mildew in shower, outside light shining into rooms no tissues no phone, no alarm clock

Not a great place to arrive late at night. You have to go to the gaming room off a huge poorly lit carpark. Not safe for a single woman to be walking in when there were several “huddled” groups of 2-3 men “chatting” in the dark. Then you get to the “studio king room”. Not sure why it’s referred to as a studio. There are no places to sit other than the beds. Walls are paper thin so you can hear everything from above and both sides. Kettle for tea & coffee but no coffee or tea or milk (one sachet of sugar - how generous!). No water! And no phone to call reception (not that there is one) Bed was a joke. Sides so soft I kept falling out but there was a hard steel bar down the middle where the two singles had been joined.
The sheets however were very clean and crisp (good quality) and the room itself was clean. Clearly this is a place to go when you need cheap as possible or everywhere else is booked. Oh - and most of the guests appear to be tradespeople so they are all up and leaving around 5-6am. You get to hear them getting up, going to the toilet.
They’re no doubt driving to the nearest cafe for that coffee.

The toasties were amazing and Maureen and Gagan had top draw service they treated us so well #blessed

As buffet go, this a good one. Great food, modern venue and friendly efficient staff. Roast meat always very tender and salads fresh.

Great place, however you can't call it the home of the UFC when you have a guy performing music in the same room during the main event and having to mute the UFC when he is singing.
