Etto Pasta Bar - Malvern

Reasonably priced middle range quality food and good service. Don't expect a pasta dish cooked by nonna for hours, but if you're hungry, a meal at this restaurant would do. More garlic on the garlic bread would help.

Every time i happen to be in Malvern i stop at Etto and grab some 3 cheese pasta. Always perfectly made.

Ordered fettuccine puttanesca for delivery - Pasta was quite good but very very small portion size, only a small tub of fettuccine and left me wanting more

I could see the financial sense in skipping on a steak size but pasta is just pasta! Be generous!

Told me they were closed at 832pm on a Saturday night. The sign on the door says they close at 930.

Normally when I order through a delivery partner, the expectation is low and I won't review them but on this case it was way beyond the low standard.

Spaghetti bolognese and pesto pasta - first off arrived barley warm, clumped together that it would have been easier to eat with a knife and fork, tasteless, bland and honestly I could have gotten a pre-packed meal from woollies and would of cost me half as much and double the taste.

Also got the wrong drink sent to me.

Then to top it all off, both me and my partner got suite sick from the food, close on the boarded to food poisoning id say, and my partner being a doctor, she quite good at spotting the signs of food poisoning.

Would not recommend to get food from here, or order it online, cheap food, unhygienic, lack of attention to detail or care, and the obvious one of food isnt fresh,

Lovely spot for a quick bite. The three cheese pasta is divine and the cheesy garlic bread is amazing. Margherita could have used a bit more basil and salt but was still really nice. Super friendly staff who let us come in close to closing time and have dinner. Will definitely be coming back here.

Pasta is good, but twice now the staff have forgotten to put in the sides we paid for, even after going back to the restaurant a second time to request our sides, the correct sides were not provided. A bit frustrating.

"McItalian" My pasta was lukewarm, the garlic bread not bad. A bit pricey for a fast food joint.

Ordered the Alfredo pasta and it was delicious, also ordered the mac & cheese croquettes which were good but definitely need a side sauce.

Very expensive, small servings, tasteless and no service: this used to be one of our favourites but the standard has fallen hard.

*For some reason I was blocked from responding to the “owner” on his response so I’m editing my answers here: yes, I got the right place. Yes, my entire family left there hungry - my husband was furious he paid over $20 for a portion that was almost the same size as the children’s portion (he even added ingredients in, which were also particularly small portions). My usual favourite, basil pesto, tasted worse than
the supermarket pesto and 2 of us had a stomach ache after. The cheese in my son’s mac & cheese tasted like powder cheese. Yes, we are aware of the “short staff” and it’s so sad that has cost you so much - we were there to celebrate a special night out and we were also in Victoria hit by the pandemic - using the pandemic as an excuse for bad food was a very cheap shot.

Yes, we got the right place - are you sure your staff aren’t substituting ingredients or changing recipes when you aren’t there?

And considering your completely unapologetic and cheeky response, I won’t be changing my review and certainly won’t be bringing my family back there again.

I was there for a pickup and the staff is really rude and unprofessional. I was waiting from 10 mins for the order and then he just talked with me like that and I just cancelled the order and walk away. They should behave kindly to all the people who visits there. Also it wasn't just me with he behave like that, another person who came before me was also treated the same and he also walked away.

Fantastic place for a delicious meal, family thoroughly enjoyed the food and service was friendly and fast.

The gnocchi is absolutely delicious. I always buy the Goliath size. The staff are friendly.
Etto offers great value for money.

Love all the different combinations of pasta and sauces not to mention the mac and cheese! Kids love the pizza as well

Good source for sauce. Hit the croquet ball for croquettes. Gives large portion of cheese (not a problem). Cool colander lights.

Unfortunately in my experience the pizza I was delivered from this restaurant was sub par to the standards I was expecting from an Italian restaurant. In this instance I would have compared its base texture and flavour to a Dominos pizza although the toppings were quite a bit tastier. However the real difference was the price. The price of a pizza should set apart one type of pizza to another in terms of its quality and flavour, to my dissatisfaction this was where Etto really failed. If it was a $10 pizza I would not have been so bothered by what I received. However I payed over double that which is why I believe one star is a fair rating for serving subpar pizza at a premium pizza price.

Ordered through Deliveroo. Ordered carbonara and garlic bread and the restaurant forgot to put the Garlic bread in the bag. They said I either have to come pick it up or get it refunded through Deliveroo. Great.
Also, carbonara is extremely salty. Won't bother ordering again.

Got pizza delivered. The dough wasn't cooked through and only the thin middle of the pizza was edible. One of the mozzarella sticks had no cheese in it. Expensive for the portion size/quality. Very disappointed. It was delivered quickly though.
