Epworth Geelong reviews
43 Our experience here was fantastic. Staff were great, super helpful, showed patience were understanding and accommodating.
The positive things were the quality of meals, ability to connect your own in room entertainment (I.e Netflix, Stan), order specific meals from an epansive menu and select the time you wanted them arrived. Surgeons visited daily for Q&A sessions and expressed genuine care in your recovery.
If there was one thing to improve, the parking / ticketing system for visitor parking is terrible. The machine often won't accept tickets unless they are inserted 'just right' which creates delays at the payment machine and exiting the parking lot. That said, by the third day I had it figured out but still saw lots of frustrated people.
Simply discharged me even though they did not manage my pain after 5 attempts by a nurse who could not get a blood test (found staff very inexperienced) i forced the dr in charge in emergency to keep me overnight and in the morning rushed me with a quick physio attendance whom also was too busy to complete my assessment another disappointment I left this hospital and ended up in my local town hospital in apollo bay where I was administered with morphine as I was in an unbearable pain and further to this I am currently waiting to be accessed for my swelling on my collar bone.the only good about this epworthgeelong hospital is the current touch screen gadgets in your rooms nothing else
Really stingy hospital that does not care about its patients. I was in a lot of pain and all the nurses cared about was cutting costs despite me being a private patient and being billed $1600 for the day procedure, this cost does not include the surgeon fees which was a lot more. I was given 1 heat pack for the pain which didn't even cover my pain area. After procedure I was given a choice of crackers, sandwich or ice cream, I chose ice cream and then was told they didn't have any (not sure if they ran out or if they never had any to begin with). Extremely disorganised too, ran 1 hour late and then they rushed me to get dressed despite calling me in 1 hour late for my procedure and they don't even give you disposable slips for your feet so you have to walk to the toilet bare feet. At this hospital you will receive third world services but charge you first world fees.
