Eltham Lower Park reviews
57 Very family-friendly park & Train lover's delight.
Entire area was very clean and easy accessible.
Eltham Lower Park is a large park with great facilities and scenic natural bushland. Three different sites are available for picnics; the western end (within the rail loop) has tables and shelter. The northen playground has great equipment, shelters tables, toilets and BBQs. The southern site is quietest and has basic play equipment, toilets, tables, shade cloth and BBQs. The bike/walking track provides access along the creek and into Eltham. Highlight is of course the marvellous Diamond Valley Railway.
This is an amazing park. Aside from the well maintained ovals, toilets and car parks, the park has one of the best miniature railways around, a horse riding paddock and a fantastic kids playground. It adjoins the Diamond Creek and Yarra River. It has a great circuit of trails that link to the Main Yarra Trail. A fantastic resource.
Enjoyed the playground, slides, climbing gym, butterfly things to hop on. Toilets and carpark nearby, sports field across the carpark. It's also beside Hohnes road playhouse which was excellent.
Mini trains, river nearby, lots of trails, dog friendly areas, 2 minutes from Eltham Town for cafes, supermarkets & shopping.
A pretty good park with a Cricket ground that doubles as Lacrosse pitch and a fully enclosed Dog Park. There's also another green that's used for mixed sports and a miniature railway that runs around the Main Road and Creek section of the park.
On the downside the drainage can be a bit rubbish after high rainfall and the dog park element is lacking better planning, particularly considering there are probably more people using this space to exercises and socialise dogs than use it for sports over the course of a typical week.
There is also a number of trails around the park and plenty of circuits around the park as well as longer walks you can take starting from there.
A lovely day out with the kids. The miniature railway is a winner, even when busy there is barely any wait time. The playground has something of everything.
We walk the dog here. The park is lovely and well maintained with interesting walks through the wetlands around the back.
Omg what a truly beautiful place to be. I was working outside for the day but was able to drive around some of the most gorgeous of places I’ve ever been to.truly a lovely place.and somewhere I would love to live
The minature railway is the best in Melbourne and a great family day out. The kids will love it - so will Dad
Big open fields full off dogs on Sunday morning, but you guessed it dog owners not picking up the poo
Very good for a picnic or a birthday party.there is walking tracks, or playground for kids. The little train ride is a good treat, super cheap, no need to book.
There are many great freinds for your dog if you have one. It is my dog's second home.
Lots of space for different walks, picnics and swimming.
Lots of regular people happy to be out with their best freind.
Ample parking, mini train ride, play and picnic area, amenities along with a walk to the creek.family fun.
This mini railway is the best kept secret kids outing in Melbourne. Top value for money. Sundays from 11.00.
Awesome park. Something for literally everyone from adult horse riding to massive ovals and. Did i mention a miniature train. Just wow. Very dedicated, knowledgeable and passionate volunteers. This was a great experience, can't recommend it highly enough
Plenty of parking. Playground, Diamond Valley Railway, Picnic areas, on Sunday there are food, now, and coffee vendors. Well maintained toilet. One of the best suburban parks around Melbourne
Always a great place to take the kids, who love the trains especially. Easy parking with plenty of space to picnic too.
Best place to take your dog for a swim in the river on a hot summer day. There will be plenty of other dogs for your dog to socialise with.
Quote possibly the best miniature train in the area. Also free for under two years. What an amazing facility
