El Churro Cafe reviews
55 We got chicken wrap which was $10 but the size was big enough and very delicious.
The chef and staff were very friendly and kind.
It is recommended and we will definitely visit again.
Whilst I have limited experience with Spanish food overall I thought the paella was delicious. Would definitely have it again!
Good atmosphere. Perfect churos. Better than most other well known places (i hope you understand ;) )
Ordered pick up.
Arrived to find the chef stir frying the seafood paella to heat. I stopped him, what I should have done was cancel the order.
Got home to find overcooked, over seasoned rice that resembled a stodgy risotto, 3 prawns (well cooked, good size, 1 star) but no other seafood except for a single mussel the size of my little fingernail. Green capsicum in long slimy strips, everything else a homogenous mess that I had to bin.
Croquettes crispy but grainy on the inside. Salty.
Disappointing, poor quality meal.
This place is so nice and the churros were so crunchy and flavourful. The service was great and the ladies were so sweet to us. Definitely one of the best local churros shops.
A really good addition to the local eateries around Swinburne University and Glenferrie Road. Food was good as was the service. My only issue (and it's a 'me' thing) is that I found the wooden stools a bit uncomfortable. Went with work colleagues, but will definitely take family there to introduce different foods to grandchildren.
I was delighted to spend a nice evening with a group of my dear friends. Drinks were had, laughs were shared, however when it came to the time to eat, we decided we would try our hand at De Barcelona. A union between bar and restaurant, with hints of Spanish cuisine and decor, de Barcelona provides what one would consider a true immersive desperado experience. So it began. We ordered our meals, an average of 60 dollars between the 5 of us, and by golly did the food arrive in the masses. Quesadillas, croquetas, chickpea salad, we were served in immense capacity. The quantity even surmounted the likes of us, the quality however, did not. To put it simply, much of the food did simply not have the “It” factor, and that Is as simple as it gets. Do I, a seasoned critic, consider the pricing of this establishment reasonable and fair? After careful consideration, I can humbly say I do not. No man should ever pay $14.50 for 3 croquetas. This is a democracy manifest. Secondly furthermore to add to this, the nachos were stuck together. Wonderful place, 5 stars.
Dropping my BIL home after dinner and popped into El churro cafe for dessert. This is that same chain you see in a kiosk at Flinders st station but here we have a spacious, tastefully decorated venue offering some pretty decent churros (and a whole lot of savouries too). Pleasant find that’s open late for all your sweet cravings
Freshly cooked chewy Churos, so yummy. Very nice and clean set up. Friendly service. Will go back again!
The food was good at De Barcelona, but for a venue where I ordered thru an app and had little contact with customer service, paid by the app, and the only thing the restaurant servers did was bring food and drinks out. They need to improve on service levels. The staff seem to have fun amongst themselves.
Maybe also need to pay attention a little more attention to customers.

We always walk past this joint and we finally ended up grabbing a bite here not long ago.
Very cute and stylish decor, friendly atmosphere.
We ordered:
️ Traditional Churros
️ Mini Churros w/ Vanilla Ice Cream
️ Cheese Quesadilla
️ Crema Catalana
️ Churrocino
️ Chai Latte
️ Babycino
We enjoyed our drinks and Crema Catalana which I believe it’s the Spanish version of Crème Brûlée.
The cheese quesadilla was very thin and a little dry, the cheese wasn’t the right cheese and the dipping sauce that came with didn’t help either. The flavours didn’t work together and it was a miss for us, unfortunately.
The churros were a bit dry but the flavour was there. It definitely tasted better together with the ice cream.

This is one of the most disappointing places on Glenferrie Road formally known as El Teurro.
If rating allowed you to do a negative it would be -10.
They pride themselves as fresh food, honestly nothing fresh about it. Food tasted like 2 days old leftovers not in a good way.
Service was terrible wasn't attended within the expected te frame.
I highly do not recommend this place.ever.
Es mas de Espana de Barcelona. It's Spain and little bit of everything else in one place. Churros and Belgian chocolate are a must. Me gusta mucho.
Enjoyable first spanish experience. I loved the seafood paella. The service was attentive and warm and friendly
Fantastic little place, popped in for lunch. Great welcome from staff. Loved the complimentary Spanish hot chocolate
Amazing place! Very cozy and near the uni, the people were really accommodating and friendly.would have stayed longer if i didn't have classes to go to.this would probably become my new hang out spot while waiting for class:)
We were there too long and the owner said "you've been here longer than my staff" but the churros were godly
Really lovely experience yesterday the staff were so warm and accommodating. Delicious spanish hot chocolate for the cold weather. Thank you!
Great place for coffee and food. I have always had a good experience here, with polite friendly staff and wonderfull owners Lee and Sam. Love their white hot chocolate drink with freshly melted chocolate buttons. An amazing smooth chocolate experience. Yummy)
Churros in here would be my go to desserts at all times!
Think rick chocolate dip and cinnamon powdered churros are just as perfect as the glass of wine before sleep! Lovely to live in the town where has the best churros in Melbourne.
