Staff at Echo Tone are awesome! Prices lower than most and 5 star service all the way. Bought a synth pedal and opted for the $10 express post. Later, decided I needed an expression pedal as well, so rang to ask if they would post them together. Both Pedals arrived 2 days later for $10 and was packed perfectly. The phone assistance and email response was quality right down to being advised on when Aus Post would arrive. It doesn’t get better than this and certainly not during the COVID lockdown. Good folk and a perfect score from me! Thank you.

As a female I've always dreaded going into music stores, as they're usually staffed by patronising old dudes, but Echo Tone is the exact opposite! Their staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming and their knowledge is vast. Fantastic customer service from a bunch of genuinely lovely people!

I had a collectable 1987 Marshall Silver Jubilee JCM 25/50 Model 2553 to sell, and I didn’t want to advertise to the general public and have to show it to time-wasters who wouldn’t know what they were looking at. I’m in South Australia, and I asked several local music shops if they take stuff to sell on consignment. Drew a blank there.
Then I found the Echo Tone website. Located in Melbourne, they deal in vintage gear, and they take goods on consignment! Perfect! I spoke to the manager Chris who confirmed they would take my amp, and proposed a sale price and commission which would leave me with a most satisfactory net amount.
So I packed my Silver Jubilee into my wife’s old Commodore and drove interstate. This was in May ’21, fortunately before Victoria’s extended lockdown.
Upon my arrival at Echo Tone’s Northcote store, sales rep Matthew and a couple of colleagues unloaded the amp in a jiffy, set it up inside the shop and put it through its paces, proving that these guys know how to use the gear as well as sell it!
It’s taken a while, but a couple of months ago a customer secured this little piece of Marshall history on layby, and today Echo Tone notified me that the lucky fella has taken delivery. Sold at the asking price!
Echo Tone has made it easy for me to sell my Marshall for what it’s worth. A great result, achieved with courteous and efficient service. I would deal with these guys again, no problem!
While in Melbourne I traded the Commodore for a near-new, top-of-the-line Camry for my wife, and she loves it. Winners and grinners all round!

Hey guys, love the store, I came in last week and brought in my 7 string Ibanez (glitter black sunburst flying V with emg signed by Corey Taylor) and not even one staff member said "hey mate you got a sweet axe". Honestly, I was shocked by the lack of interest in my super valuable/rare battle weapon. PS I need a restring on the whip because I shred da s**t. I don't usually rock the house but when I do, I use a miniature acoustic 4 string Hawaiian f**k Boi. All things aside, Bon jovi is a legend and he'd shop in a place like this. PS if he ever does, call me because I'll come in and give him a reach around. Thanks!

This place is awesome and the service is top notch. Also excellent with guitar set ups and repairs etc, price is very fair and it’s just a good vibe all round. Best guitar joint around

Recently purchased a previously-loved McNally Strumstick online from Echo Tone Guitars. I live interstate so was a little nervous about buying sight unseen. My concerns were completely unjustified! Packing was brilliant. Communication was brilliant. Instrument was brilliant. Great job folks! Will happily purchase from again.and again:)

Echo Tone is probably my favourite guitar shop in Melbourne. Whenever I'm in the area I come and check it out. There's always really decent instruments in here, the customer service is great, and I highly recommend any guitarists to check it out when you can!

I seriously can't recommend the crew down at EchoTone enough! Not only do they have a great range of instruments (including mandolins!) they're just a bunch of really nice and helpful people. Looking forward to my next browse/purchase immeasurably!

Those that know me know I am a musician with passion and this store oozes passion! Its a guitar shop for guitar addicts and what a consistent variety of quality and reasonable priced instruments it is! Thank god we still have these boutique store in iconic suburbs of Melbourne! I'm in love!

Great service, walked in with no idea and the guys talked me through everything and I ended up getting a great sounding guitar!

They set up my guitar real good with quick turnaround. Always friendly if I pop in for strings or something or just to ogle the beautiful vintage guitars.

Tom looked after me today and he was an absolute gem! So knowledgeable, easy to talk to and all round great guy. I was really nervous to come in to the store as some music shops have a 'cool' 'exclusive' vibe but it wasn't like that at all. If you have any questions about guitars, music or where to learn I'd 100% suggest to check them out!

The team here is all about your experience and have all the intentions of you advising you of the options available and what they think might work for you. I’m only a beginner and was happy to be advised of a cost effective alternative to the product that I was after that may suit me better in my learning curve! I ended up going with their suggestion. Not only am I happy in getting the functionality I was after, I also saved money.

Super friendly and helpful. So many cool products to suit a wide variety of tastes and budgets.
