Eat Fish

Have been visiting this place for years. Noticed there was a change of ownership. However everyone in my family is satisfied with the fresh seafood as well as the fried fish as we used to be.

Has been a regular customer for a long time. Always happy with their food. Recently got them specially ordered in some fish and sashimi for the family, and they came in freshly within the same day.

Worst fish and chips ever. Chips over fried, there was no potato in the potato cake, just over cooked batter. Ordered a plain burger and never recieved it. Complete shambolics.

Perhaps the best fish and chips shop in Melbourne. Fish is great, grilled or fried. The chips are nice and crispy, and their rice is actually pretty damn good.

Always great. Wait can be long on peak days, so plan accordingly. But that's to be expected. They manage busy times very well.

Have to agree with other recent reviews here. Something has shifted at Eat Fish. It’s moved from clean and fresh to standard. We have moved local Fish and Chip shops after we went back twice to check it had definitely declined in standard. Beautiful staff, food just isn’t the incredible standard it used to be.

Have been going here for a few years now and always had good Fish & Chips, but after today I'm looking elsewhere. The Fish was ok, the Burger edible but the chips & potato cakes were oily and hollow! I don't know if the place has changed hands but something is very off!

Great fresh and cooked Australian fish, coupled with great service. What more do you want. Quick and easy.

Very nice fish and chips. Pick the fresh fish from the counter to get fried. Fresh oysters are nice as well.

Went with my boyfriend a couple of weeks ago for a late lunch LOVED IT SO MUCH that I forced my mum to come with me tonight. Their grilled fish and burger with the lot is delicious!

The potato cakes used to be fantastic. Unfortunately the quantity has deteriorated to be so poor now. Quality is appalling I will not go again. Missed some of my order. The new owner should consider previous quality and stop saving on quality product. They have lost our family as customers and we used to eat there every Friday. We will eat at home frozen fish, chips and potato cakes from the supermarket

Great fish shop in ashburton. You can tell a good shop by the quality of it's chips and theirs were ace!

Excellent fish and chip shop, probably one of the best in terms of variety of choices and freshness. Can be very busy on a Friday night

This place used to be amazing! Now some Asians have got it and its all gone down hill messed up order then they dropped our order on the floor and had to remake it! They are also very oily now

Before this shop taken over earlier this year, I would have rated it 4.5 stars. Now the quality is not like it use to be. The servings are smaller and the service is slower, they’ve made frequent mistakes on many orders and they are so frugal they don’t compensate for their mistakes even with a tartare sauce.

Change of management also meant a change of standards, nowhere near as good as it used to be, smaller serves, oily and a little stingy, lift your game or lose customers

Best Fish and Chips around! Bit pricey but the food is always up to scratch. You cannot find better flake/gummy shark anywhere

Good fish and chips shop in the High Street shopping strip. Burger plain and was cheap, perfect for the price and the fish portions were huge. Highly recommended.
