Dunkeld Old Bakery and Cafe reviews
55It is the best stopover if you pass south Grampians. They bake fresh and serve fresh as well. I was requested veggie toast which was not in their menu, but they made for me.
Brilliant, historical, gorgeous and awesome place with fantastic almond latte and cake selections served with a smile. So glad i read other reviews and detoured off the main road 30seconds. Well worth the effort. Stop, Rest, Relax and enjoy the peacefulness and read up on the bakery history. Look forward stopping for lunch next time we pass through ;-) A+
Good coffee with views to the mountains. Off the main road.
Had a fantastic vanilla slice.
How a country bakery should be - fancy and straight forward lovely food and coffee. The bread probably makes the best toasties you’ll ever have and sitting outside with a coffee in the morning is how to start any day the right way.
Lovely place where to have brunch! We had eggs Benedict and loved them! The sourdough was so scrumptious we bought a loaf to bring home! Loved the fruit tarts too!:)
Coffee scroll just blew us away. Just delicious!
Beautiful breakfast overall in a great town.
What a fantastic little Gem. Friends and I had lunch yesterday at beautiful Dunkeld under the branches of shady tree. I had the Beef and Ale pie which was served with a delicious chutney. It was absolutely delightful. We followed this with a cup of tea, served in a beautiful teapot/cup. Great atmosphere, and lovely food and service. It made for an enjoyable day.
A little gem. Delicious lunch with friends under the shady trees in front of this beautiful old bakery. Coffee was excellent and all our meals came out beautifully prepared and presented. Staff efficient and friendly - very relaxing. Took home a coffee scroll and l would return just to get another! Best l have ever eaten by far One of life’s pleasant interludes. Thank you! 1️⃣
I was quit disappointed about the pies. My wife ordered two lamb pies and two curry pies and one vanilla slice and two coffee's.
The curry pies fell apart way to much liquid in them not much meat either and the pastry was too thick and the vanilla slice had to be eaten with a spoon as the top of the pastry slid off and down to the bottom, the best thing was the coffee that was nice, and way over priced, way better bakerys around locally than this one.
Great coffee and fresh bread. Breakfast left a bit to be desired though. Overcooked poached eggs and undercooked bacon and a hair in the mushrooms.
We stopped in for breakfast when staying nearby (a few months ago now) and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Cool little bakery with a bit of history. Grabbed coffee there twice as well, it was very good. Definitely worth a visit if driving by.
We had a wonderful lunch at this little bakery. The soup was delicious as was the quiche my partner had. Family run, this place had a homely and inviting ambiance. It was just what we were looking for.
I really like this cafe. It is small and chill! The atmosphere is so nice and you will have a feeling of country side. There tart is worth to try! With the mike shake also: P
The beef pies and quiches were delicious and prices were good. Worth a stop over if going to halls gap from warrnambool or vs versa.
Dropped in on way to Halls Gap. Lovely lady made us delicious egg and bacon sandwich and fresh coffee. Loved the animals outside wandering about. Would definitely recommend.
