Dunkeld Old Bakery and Cafe reviews
55Beautiful bakery. Fresh pastries. In a beautiful setting. Not the quickest service but to be fair it was fairly busy.
The kitchen closes at 12pm but they are open until 2pm we arrived at one o'clock to be told there was no food of any kind available.
Set in its history, the cafe/ bakery have the most amazing options of Croissants, cronuts, tarts and other items to fancy anyone's delight.
Coffee hit the spot for us. We ordered scrambled eggs and poached eggs with side of bacon and Mushroms.
Side of bacon and Mushroms were cooked to perfection, poached eggs were cooked through and didn't have a runny yoke which was missed, though not a huge inconvenience.
Fresh Sourdough and baguettes were available for purchase with multiple preserves also.
I do need to come back and try all the amazing delight I missed this time.
Not cool.waiting patiently behind a family of 5 to order when barista decides to invite a local queue jump and took his order before ours. We left.not satisfactory.
A wonderful bakery! Our favourite pie was the lamb ragu. Freshly baked sourdough loaf was also fantastic.
Beautiful restored cottage with delicious pies & quiches. Staff are ever so friendly and they have homemade marmalades / jams for sale! Be sure to stop by as your passing through.
Delicious bread and pastries, and lovely staff - get in early for a croissant during the week, they're worth it!
Delicious breads, pastries. Friendly service. Can highly recommend lovely old world accommodation,
Had a wonderful experience sitting outside overlooking the gorgeous Grampians and eating beautifully home baked goods
Quaint and precious. Only had time for a takeaway, but this place seems much loved by the locals.
ABSOLUTE MUST TRY
Quite possibly the best pastry I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating, and friendly staff and delicious coffee too! Highly recommend the croissants and pies (available at lunch), as well as delicious sandwich perfect for a mid-Grampians hike lunch!
Good country bakery and pleasant setting but dont tell anyone as it is well patronised by locals and not to be shared!
Great coffee and selection of delicious bakery offerings. Picked up a wonderful loaf of fresh cooked sour dough as well.
I would drive from Geelong just to LOOK at the pies, baked fresh on site daily. While we didn't get to eat any pies as they're out of the oven mid morning and we visited early, everything we ate was delicious, especially the toasted bacon and egg crossaint. A selection of locally made food products and artisinal sourdough and other breads that look A grade.
If you're in the area, lock this in, you wont be disappointed.
Fabulous family run business. Attended twice while in Dunkeld and enjoyed both occasions. Staff friendly and kind. Get down there and support local!
Friendly service, cosy environment. Great coffee delicious selection of cakes and bakery items.
We visited this bakery for breakfast on a good friday. Unfortunately the standard bakery items weren't there like sausage rolls, pies, pasties, etc. The ambience around the bakery is very beautiful. The waiting guys and coffee lady were very friendly. Ordered some avo on toast with eggs and some coffee both of which were alright. Certainly a good place to visit.:)
If you go here in the afternoon there is no food left. Was only 1pm.
Wanted breakfast but was told that it's 1pm and that's the cut off time.
You can't throw money at them, they could make a fortune.
Go early or don't bother.
Beautiful fresh pastries, great coffee and friendly staff- definitely worth a visit with if you're in Dunkeld. We ate in and the place has a lovely small-town vibe.
