Dunkeld Old Bakery and Cafe reviews
55Great place for a coffee and breakfast, staff are lovely and food was perfect. Best coffee and best pies!
Super super friendly staff, nice setting outside, charming tearoom inside and very good almond croissant.
We arrived close to closing time, the staff were friendly and accommodated us with delicious food and coffee. Recommended!
Extraordinary pies, friendly service and the Signal Peak Mountain Tea was thoroughly enjoyable in winter.
Beautiful old building with a lovely atmosphere but for a coffee and very tiny so called salad which was really a garnish was way over my budget.
Visited mid August and sat by the fire for breakfast (which was too much for me to finish), and an excellent barista coffee. I won't mention the danishes and sourdough bread we walked away with.ahem! Both were devoured later in the day and I have to say the danishes were the best we have eaten on our trip through NSW and Victoria.
Highly recommend.
The best croissants in Victoria maybe? It’s better than Lune in Melbourne as Lune must’ve cut back on butter or something cos they’re dry af now. Anyway, these croissants though were buttery, moist, and flakey all at the same time. So flavorful! And it comes with sides of butter and jam, which is also delicious. Would not recommend the blondie or meat pies - that was underwhelming and dry compared to the croissants.
Little bakery tucked away from the main drag. The coffee was great, the croissant was "moist" in the middle and crunchy on the inside. Highly recommend if you're passing bye.
A lovely spot in a lovely little town. Excellent coffee and breakfast/brunch spot, perfect for planning your day’s hiking route. The Grampians are stunning, and this is definitely a super starting point. Fresh bread and pastries to take away as well.
Beautiful little bakery. Went in for a coffee and croissant. After consuming both, went back in and bought just about one of every other baked good available. Delicious!
Nice bakery with some good spots outside to sit. Would recommend:)
Don't know why the Karen in the post below me gave one star?
Beautiful old building with a lovely atmosphere but for a coffee and very tiny salad with a pie will set you back $18.00
way over my budget.
Todays’s ham and cheese croissant scroll was sooooo good! Yum. So was my coffee, made by Ben, spot on.
Love this bakery and all their food. Thank you
The pies are absolutely beautiful and just melt in your mouth.
We ordered 2 steak and onion pies and two hot chocolates $35
And there was a wait was very busy but worth the wait as no tables inside so had been raining but would highly recommend
Hard to enjoy a family breakfast when one meals come out after 20 mins and the other 3,25mins after that. Disappointed, and nobody even seemed to care at all. Good customer service is not a hard thing to achieve, definitely needs some work in this regard.
The staff was courteous and had one if the best coffees I've had so far. Lovely croissants too!
A quaint bakery making great coffee and the best carrot cake! Definitely recommend stopping for a break.
My GF wanted to stop at another place but I decided to hold out for the bakery! Super glad I did as we ended up having one of the best breakfasts of our trip! The bacon and egg roll was great but my favourite was the ham and cheese croissant perfect.
The coffee was also alot better at the bakery then the other place
The best bread and pies since Melbourne. We were there in January 2017. It had 36° C outside and we were happily sitting inside the beautiful furnished room having lunch.
Don't miss it!

Love this bakery. We frequently visit it when on holiday in Dunkeld. Fresh made breads and bakery items. Our favourites are the chocolate croissants. Coffee is delicious but due to been the Easter Weekend and several other places not operating it was almost a 30 min wait to get four coffees as the staff where just overwhelmed with the volume of customers and only one Barista under the pump.
