I was lucky enough to be treated by Alex! I was referred to him for keyhole surgery by a different gynaecologist and nurse who spoke so highly of him. His care, compassion and knowledge made me feel safe throughout my procedure. His kindness and sense of humour got me through my discomfort. Cannot wait to visit again come baby time.:)
Plus, the cherry on this whole medical cake is the lovely Deb and the reception team. <3

I would recommend everyone who is seeking fertility support with melb ivf to see dr Alex, we saw someone else at MIVF almost left when we meet dr Alex now we are happy we stayed. He doesn’t talk much but he always answers all ur questions anything you want to know or want help with. I had amazing experiences with Dr Polyakov through both fertility and obstetric care. I can see what some reviewers are saying about the appointments being short and not getting long answers to questions, but personally, I found him to be a very efficient, to-the-point and incredibly calm clinician. These qualities meant that he almost never runs late for appointments, and reassured me through this journey with many unknowns. I felt that my questions were always answered in a straightforward and helpful ways. I can say for sure that he does not dismiss questions or concerns. Also, all the remaining questions I had regarding the birth plan and hospital stay were answered during my appointment with midwife Janette. Best of all, you can count on him to be available even at the most unexpected times, when there is an emergency. During my hospital stay after birth, he came to visit me every day to check how I am going, which reflects how much he cares about his patients. I would also like to thank the friendly, professional and helpful reception team, Naomi and Debra, as well as Midwife Janette. I will definitely be back to be looked after by this amazing team for my second baby! Thank you so much!

A/Prof Alex is my obstetrician and fertility specialist. I highly recommend him! Alex is always on time (yes, always), respectful, is highly skilled, and has a great sense of humour. We were delighted to be in his care for our first baby delivered healthily, despite some challenges, by caesarean. Alex’s team is lovely too! Our experience couldn’t have been better!

I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy with Dr. Alex 4 weeks ago. My pre surgery consultation was clear and explained everything I needed to know about what would happen. Dr. Polyakov was supportive and took care to make sure I was comfortable and prepared before and on the day of surgery. Surgery was straightforward and I was well looked after at the Epworth. Recovery has been absolutely amazing. After a week I returned to work, after 2 weeks I felt 90% and by 3 weeks I was feeling great! I actually can't believe how well and how quick recovery has been. I can't recommend Dr. Alex and his team enough! Thank you.

Dr Polyakov is very knowledgeable, skillful and compassionate doctor. He made us feel reassured throughout our journey to parenthood. We definitely would recommend him. Dr Polyakov is the most dedicated, thoughtful and compassionate doctor I have ever come across. He is incredibly knowledgeable & calm, I can say this confidently from our 2.5 years of experience with him as both a fertility specialist and my current Obstetrician. His appointments are always on time so it works perfectly for working couples. He is a man of few words and keeps his appointments short, so please have your questions ready. We will forever be grateful to him and can't thank him enough for all his support. Also, a big thank you to his team - Naomi, Debra & Mitzi (though she has left now) for excellent service they have always provided.

Dr Alex Polyakov is the best gynaecologist in Melbourne. He had given the best gift to me by helping me completing my family. He had performed my c section as well and can say wholeheartedly that I have experience no post operative complications. Debra and Suzie are amazing and helped me everytime when I had called. Best recommended place.

Dr Alex is hands down the best OB EVER!

After going through the public system with my first and having a traumatic experience, I decided to go private with my second and couldn't have asked for a better experience.

With his knowledge, care, experience and professionalism, I couldn't have been in better hands.

I suffered from hyperemesis during both of my pregnancies.
With the first I had to plead with drs to help me and believe what I was going through, however Alex did all he could to make sure I had all the proper medications and care that I needed to get through it and he never made me feel like it was in my head and that it was just "morning sickness".

On the day of my C-section, they had administered my spinal and as they laid me down I started to have a panic attack (due to my first traumatic birth experience), I don't remember much after that point, but my husband told me that everyone's attempts to calm me (including his own) weren't working, but as soon as Alex walked into the theatre I calmed immediately- I guess that just shows how much I trusted him and knew I was in the hands of the best!

My c-section scar is so clean/neat and I healed so quickly!

Alex was always straight forward and a no fuss kind of doctor and I think that is extremely important when comes to yours and your baby's health- I didn't want things sugar coated, I just want the facts and solutions- and that's what Alex provided.

He addressed any concerns that I had (even the silly ones) and always made me feel valid and that I could ask him anything!

Also his office assistants were always so kind and caring- and always accommodated to my schedule- also to note, Alex was always on time with every single appointment!

As a new client following reviews I am not going back. I booked and sent all my information in advance, was missing and had to send again a couple of times.
The doctor read it very quick 10 min before, when you have been waiting and prepared for weeks to check with an specialist a not very good news for a woman. I didn't feel any empathy and received minimum explanation as well about the medication.
Charged wrongly, and don't mention additional woman tests are being charged when are free with gps nor receiving any written result.

Dr Alex Polyakov is one of the finest doctors. We had an amazing experience with him both as Fertility specialist and Obstetrician. He is very calm, methodical and knowledgeable. He had great patience to listen to us and have a recommendation which gave us confidence and reassurance and helped us manage our pregnancy very well. Admire his professionalism. My journey with Dr Alex started in Dec'2020 for my multiple very large fibroids' surgery which no one in Melbourne offered to perform via laparoscopy except for Dr Alex. He spent close to 4 hours to remove the fibroids via laparoscopy and that only tells you how skillful and dedicated he is. I recovered in 2-3 weeks. He is my miracle doctor. I was pregnant 4 months after the surgery and he delivered my beautiful daughter via Caesar. My daughter was born early at 34 weeks 5 days and Dr Alex was extremely prompt to make sure I received 3 shots of steroid injections for the bub's lung development. He kept a a very close eye oo my baby's growth from week 26 and was very prompt in taking the right decision at the right time. We cannot thank him enough for his care, passion and dedication. He is second to none. His team - Jannette, Debra, Mitzi and Naomi are just amazing and I have developed a great friendship with all of them. We feel extremely lucky to have been looked after by such wonderful people. Thank you so much!

We are very very happy to do IVF this time with Dr Alex. He really is the best out there. 6 years ago we saw Alex to discuss IVF as we have been trying for 2 years and still not successful. We did all the steps and process to start the treatment and while waiting for my cycle, I just fell pregnant naturally so that was great in itself. We continued to see Alex for the care and the Women's for the arrival of my now 5 year old daughter. Fast forward to this year, again had a really difficult time to fell pregnant naturally after trying for 2 years so the start of this year I've been in clomid 6 rounds and still not successful. So we went to see Dr Alex again to which he said while waiting for all the paperworks, that we should try letrozole for 3 months. Well we did and nothing still so I did my cycle with ICSI first round. To tell you the truth I didn't expect much as I've read everywhere that when it's your first time sometimes your doctor really has no clue how your body reacts but went with open mind. I did the egg collection and total yhere were 13 eggs collected. Overnight only 6 survived and on the day of my transfer, Dr Alex said the embryo "is very good". 10 days later and did the blood test and I'm pregnant.now 12 weeks and still pregnant. We were very very pleased we went to see Alex again and we never really hesitated tbh. He is very direct, on point and won't leave you stressing about stuff. I remembered when we saw him the first appointment this year he said "don't worry, you'll get pregnant this year". We owe this little bundle of Joy to him and very thankful. We would definitely recommend Dr Alex to friends who want to do ivf. It was the best decision and money well spent.once again, Thank you Dr Alex Polyakov and your team.x

I had really bad anxiety throughout my pregnancy. Dr Polyakov never dismissed my concerns and always followed them up with tests as needed. I gave birth on early 2020 via elective csection. Throughout the birthing process, I felt so much control over my own body. Dr Polyakov respected my decissions and took care of me so well. I am forever grateful to Dr Polyakov and his team.

A God Sent Doctor! We were referred to Alex by our IVF specialist once falling pregnant. I had major abdominal surgery a few years ago and it was possible for some complications to arise during pregnancy/birth. Our IVF specialist assured us that Alex was the best in the field and would be best suited to manage any complications should they arise; she also mentioned that he was well known for his invisible c section scars!
Alex provided us with the upmost professional but most importantly empathetic and supportive care. I can't tell you how much this meant after the journey we had been on to finally fall pregnant added with the anxiety I was experiencing hoping to stay pregnant. He was available if I had any pregnancy related concerns and he did an exceptional job at helping to manage my gestational diabetes. During the C-Section he was fantastic and really helped calm my nerves! I knew I was in the best hands and it made for a beautiful, calming experience becoming a first time mum.
I am now 6 weeks post birth and just as our IVF specialist had mentioned - my scar is invisible! I have had my GP, midwives and friends who have also had C-sections all comment on what a minimal faint line my scar is and what a great job my obstetrician did! I am so grateful we were referred to Alex and should we be fortunate enough to have more children in the future I know we will again be in the best possible hands. Thank you Alex!

Dr Polyakov was recommended to us by his happy client. The fact that he speaks my native language (Russian) was a good bonus (I thought I might forget English while in labour).
The whole pregnancy was low risk and I had no problems through out. However the baby didn’t come out on the due date so I was induced a couple of days later. Ended up having an emergency cesarean after long hours of labour as there were risks for the baby. Thanks to Dr P and our nurse who quickly realised there was a problem. The whole medical team led by dr P reacted fast and a couple of moments later we were holding our healthy baby girl in our arms.
Dr P is professional, knowledgeable and experienced doctor. Pregnancy and labour don’t always go to plan so having a reliable doctor like Alex makes you feel comfortable and safe.

Alex is quite literally a miracle worker. We can't thank him enough for the three beautiful babies he has helped us bring in to the world. All with absolutely flawless treatment and advice. Highly recommended.

Alex safely and happily delivered our baby. Alex was incredibly knowledgeable, calm and had a great, dry sense of humour that helped us through our pregnancy and birth as first time parents. Alex listened to our birth delivery preferences which we were able to achieve.

His midwife, Jeanette, who we were lucky enough to have during our delivery was amazing then and also when I saw her couple of times during my pregnancy - she listened, talked through things and calmed all my nerves!

Deborah and Mitzi were lovely, smiling faces at reception and always checked in!
