D'Penyetz & D'Cendol Clayton reviews
45 Been here twice, and ordered some deliveries during lockdown as well. Feels like the quality is not as good as previously.
The sambals are ok - lacking the punch. The sambal matah wasn't as I expected.
Overall, the dishes are alright, but with other options available, I wouldn't be back anytime soon.
Finally get to taste their spanner crabs after 3 visits. But not ideal. Meat was sry after deep fry.everything else tastes good
Incredible food and the best service ever. They are so attentive to your needs and give great advice on dishes
This place is packed, but real quick turnover, Value for money, dishes did not disappoint, the Ribs tender and crispy all so yummy, don’t forget to order green chilis on Fried Chicken (v spicy) but can’t stop eating, lastly the Salted fish and bean sprouts are so tasty. Recommended by a Indonesian friend, should have listened to them earlier. Decor looks nice.
Such friendly staff and delicious food. Ying was so helpful with our vegan requests and helped us get the dishes we were after. Highly recommend going! Only wish they used less single-use plastic.
This is my favourite go to Indonesian restaurant. So happy that they opened not too far from my place. They got a lot of varieties of food and very authentic.
Prices are very reasonable with the food costs nowadays. Portions are generous. Just never be disappointing! My favs are the Grilled Aroma/ Bali Fish, Grilled marinated beef ribs, smashed chicken with the green chilli. Their dessert that you've gotta try as well. I love the Ice Campur D'cendol. You can ask for less sweet or ice depends on your likey.
Staffs are very friendly as well, they helped you with your dietary requirements and explain thoroughly if you have any questions regarding the foods. Just hoping people can be nicer with their gorgeous service cause I witnessed some people got angry when they asked them to pay for extra chilli. Well you gotta pay what you get I guess! And please be patient when they're really busy because you can't really expect when they're busy or not. Sometimes I go on the weekend nights and they got seats but sometimes no.
This place has simple decor, but not as basic as most Indonesian restaurants. Staff are very friendly, and kindly checked on us if we needed anything else. Had their fried chicken with kremes, asked for the sambal to be separated, very glad that I did because it was soo spicy, but nice. Fried chicken was nicely fried and not dry inside and just how I love my fried chicken in Indonesia. Tried tahu telor and it wasn’t like I usually had in Indo, this one is covered in satay sauce, more to the sweet side but I love the texture. Tried their es doger with cendol and it was ok, missing the bits of breads that is one of the special thing about es doger. Took home the salted egg calamari and terong balado. While the salted egg calamari sauce was really nice, the calamari was unfortunately tough & dry from being overcooked. Terong balado was nice, not complaint for that. Overall a good Indonesian restaurant with some rooms for improvement.
Love this place. We once went there when then just opened but wasn’t quite impressed. Then recently we went there again and we believe the taste and overall service have improved! Will definitely be one of my go to Indo resto in the area. Favourite order: tahu telor, ayam penyet, mie goreng special.
Practically our family kitchen, their staffs are good and the owner very friendly and down to earth. Their food portions are always generous, Gazillions loves for this Clayton Dpeyetz.
My sister took me here while I was visiting Melb. The taste was so Indonesian, the chicken was big, and the service was good. #proudIndonesian
This Indonesian restaurant serves traditional Indonesian dessert (Cendol) and types of crushed fried/grilled chicken, meat or fish.
Outstanding Customer Service. The first impression once you step into the restaurant, very welcoming. Food is exceptional good, delicious and generous portion. Definately be back again. I had stopby to buy take away worth over $200 and told the gentleman in the cashier that i will be driving 1hr home. Knowing this, He immediately place my foodpack in three separate warmer bag and did no charge me extra for it. These value added service that makes this restaurant worth visiting. MARVELOUS. WELL DONE. I will definately be back. Thank you.
If you are in Clayton or surrounding area.
Don't forget to stop at Dpenyetz (beside dominos pizza) for a meal.
Seriously, don't waste your money or energy to try other places.
The quality of the food and service in this place are beyond five stars.
Let's start with the Staff: they are helpful and friendly,
Food: cooked fresh and delicious.
The texture of their fried chicken was perfectly cooked, not too soft or too hard like other places I tried.
Price: very reasonable.
Lastly: the hygiene level, this place is so clean, neat and promising.
Highly recommended, everything just amazing!
Sorry about my last picture. The food is too yummy. Can't resist the temptation. Haha
Yummy place to have dinner. But acoustics needs improvement. Noise just bounces everywhere. We couldn't hear ourselves.
Food was good. All comes down to what you enjoy. Place to usually full, so locals love the place
Good quality ayam penyet and sambal. Great attentive service from staff too. Cendol unfortunately wasn’t too great, but we’ll be back to try the other dishes.
Just had tofu egg side dish and a giant pudding came out. Don't know how they made it but it was delicious.
I am a food lover and very fussy about food taste, I have been their customers since they open. Not single dished I and my friends nor my families complain about it. They food always define? , their Tahu telor is one of my favorite, my father favorite is IGA BAKAR and chili egg plant my children favorite is NASI GORENG. Dare to try it? , prepare to be in love. You might see me there
Best Indonesian food in Melb! Huge servings and Awesome customer service too! It has now been a weekly routine to dine in/take away here.
Definitely one of the best Indonesian restaurant around BUT the service was just awful. Arrogant and rude staffs. Only the guy who seems to be the owner or manager know how to treat a customer properly.
