Food isn't too spicy, unlike most places. I like it cause they make all the food according to how spicy you want it.

Delicious. The sambal on the smashed chicken was delicious and the beef melted in my mouth. Great variety of desserts to try next time we go back!

I’ve been a very loyal customer of D’Penyetz for the last 1.5 years I’ve been living in Melbourne. I live around Clayton as such I often come here, sometimes 2-3 times a week to get dinner when I don’t have the time to cook.

I always ordered the Nasi Goreng Ayam Suir. I’ve always advertised to all my friends how the food is amazing and it’s great for value as the portions they gave are huge for the $14-$16 you pay.

In the last 2 weeks, I ordered D’Penyetz Nasi Goreng Ayam Suir four times. Twice at the store and another two times on UberEats/DoorDash. The first time I bought it I noticed the rice was less flavourful and the portion was so small (about 60% of the rice they used to give around February/March this year). They used much less sambal to fry the rice as it’s no longer red it’s a very very pale instead. I thought this was a one off, so I decided to order again for take away. Yet again the same problem, the portion was tiny and the rice was so pale (and taste is not flavourful at all).

Disappointed I decided not to order again until the following week and give them a chance because in the 1.5 years I had eaten there, the last two times were the only disappointing ones.

Hence, on the day I had guests over on two days, I ordered D’Penyetz twice on both days. By now it has become unsurprising how their Nasi Goreng Ayam Suir isn’t up to standard anymore. The rice was pale, lack of sambal flavour anymore and the portion was so small it looked like it was for a primary school child on both occasions. I used to be able to have two meals from one serving and now I can eat the whole thing in one go because they surely reduced the portion sizes.

If you’re a regular, you would probably agree with me how the standard has dropped and how portion sizes have decreased. Sad to say, I don’t think I will be coming back anymore after constant business for years. Every year my university club will give D’Penyetz big business by ordering 230+ servings of their Nasi Ayam Goreng Suir twice a year. With how the standard has dropped, we will probably be using a different caterer from now on as I no longer would want to serve guests small portions of unflavourful rice.

It used to be awesome and I recommended it to everyone and even the club I am VP of. Now it is no longer the case.

It's pretty nice if you like spicy Indonesian food.
Oddly enough the "Ayam Geprek Cabe Hijau" is more spicy than "Fiery Spicy Red Chilli Sauce" - due to the after taste.
Sate Nusantara and Calamari Rings (Cumi Goreng Tepung) is a must have.

Had the Ikan Bakar Bali, Terong Sambal Balado, and the Sop Buntut… all amazing. And the signature Bowl for dessert. Rare to find all dishes that’d I’d order again!

Food was great. But slightly disappointed due to no crab being available. Need to call ahead to check if crab is available as multiple times it's not available.

Been a loyal customer since they open their first outlet in Carlton and have been coming to the Clayton branch for the past year. I have always been happy with the flavour & quality of their food although their cendol is another story. Unfortunately the last 3 visits have been a dissapointment. You can really tell the quality has been dropping. Tahu Isi which is my family’s favourite came out nearly burned on all 3 occasions. This one time, the batter even completely came off and they just served it as is with the naked tofu and fallen off batter on the side. The ikan bakar aroma lacked the usual deep flavour and was rather dry. Now on my latest visit for takeaway, the Tahu Isi is burned again. Look, I get that the place is very busy. But you simply can’t serve burned food to a paying customer. I used to highly recommend this place to friends, but unfortunately can’t do that anymore. At least until they address their issue with inconsistencies. If you want to try out this place, try coming at non-busy time so that maybe the quality will improve. When done right, their food’s pretty amazing. Cendol no good though.

One of our order didnt came. Waitress was searching for the food on other tables instead of making it quickly. We finished the rest of the food and still waiting for it.

Delicious grilled meats, with that charred flavour, and the aroma sauce is yum. Staff was flexible with the sides on my rice dish to accommodate my wheat sensitivity (switched bread to tofu). Great value!

I missed cendol a lot in a Malay trip, so I was happy to see and try cendol here, but it was not good. The milk/coconut milk is fine, but too sweet as I see so much palm sugar, I had a small headache after finishing this cup because of the sweetness. The cendol itself taste old, like it use old flour to make it. I can accept the sweet milk part, but not for the off-taste flour that I tasted. My stomach did not really feel fine after relising it though

This place has some delicious food and friendly people. The chicken was soft and juicy and the migoreng was very good. Portion sizes are generous and we were beyond stuffed at the end. My only criticism was that I ordered the highest level of spice and found it very mild. Overall, I like this place and would come again to try other dishes.

The food had the Indonesian authencity. Only criticism I have is charging for extras I.e. $1.50 for half a tea spoon of chilli sauce, $0.50 for an empty takeaway container. Otherwise, recommend for the food and service.

Rock hard rice served without soup was unacceptable. Ayam penyet should always be served with soup!
