Doutta Galla Hotel reviews
793 generation catch up over a great pub meal, loved having my mother and son ️ with me the experience enhanced by the location thanks
I'm a local and have been coming here for more than a decade but the level of service has got so bad recently that tonight's experience was the straw that broke the camel's back. You can put me down as another local who won't be returning!
I ordered a Chicken Parma and after an hour and 30 minutes, it still wasn't served and they couldn't explain why. "Oh, uh.uh. It might have been missed. When did you order? Who did you place the order with? "
A pub that can't even serve a simple parma on Parma Night! Yikes!
And this isn't the first instance.
I was seated at the bar last week and ordered a pint with my meal. The food was served before the pint was; I had to ask the bartender again for it! His response: "Oh, didn't I give it to you already? "
Sure mate, I skulled my pint, returned my glass to the bar, washed it, and put it back in the fridge, without you noticing anything, all within 15 minutes! That explains why I don't have a glass in front of me.
A pub that forgets to pour you the pint you just bought (and gaslights you for it)! Yikes! Should have been the only red flag needed.
Beware, that's the kind of service you get here!
️️️️ $22.00 steak night.
️️️️️ very good merlot, plenty on the wine list
Next. Parma night
The food was awesome, the staff were great and the place just has the greatest vibe. Could have stayed all day. Do yourself a favour and grab the lunch steak sanga or lunch parma.
Went here to try their Tuesday $20 steak special. Arrived 25 mins early, and they booked a great table next to the fireplace which was pretty good, and by the window- great start. Service was spot on, good recommendations, with the cauliflower popcorn and onion rings. They got back’ straight away and had sold out of the cauliflower, so straight up offered me a refund no fuss, but I thought I’d check out the other items, got the chicken wings and they waived the price difference, once again good business and customer service. Added the two scotch steaks and a few drinks. Onion rings and sweet bbq sauce were excellent, crispy no oily residue, the wings and ranch sauce great, the steaks were an 8 out 10, salad was extremely fresh and dressing was very very good, making it a 9, the price is crazy here, good thickness and nice char, tasty and pink inside.we looked at desserts, went the safe option of sticky date…it’s ridiculous that for $11 they served up a slab/wedge of light and delicious pudding with the garnish and ice cream, really enough for two ppl, but daughter loved it. Definitely be coming back here, maybe next week, something this good at the price point and service quality …. This can’t last.
Decent enough pub, funny mix of styles. Decent beer selection. Didnt get a chance to try the food but it smelled lovely. Will have to try it on my next visit
Great staff and surprisingly good food at this pub. Dante always greets us with a smile on his face, and we always try to go there on Thursday for their $1 Wing specials. Good vibes and good times at the Doutt!
Wonderful experience at the Doutta Galla Hotel. We celebrated Easter there. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, as mum was in a disabled wheelchair/princess chair which is big and challenging to manourvere. The food was excellent.
Jukebox has limited options even thou it comes from Spotify, no metal or punk and the 35 cent surcharge to pay by card is extortion
I popped into the Doutta Galla the other Saturday night at around 8pm for a bit of a sticky beak and a quick drink. This old landmark pub has obviously been lovingly restored. The décor inside was very inviting with comfortable furniture, warm low lighting and a lovely collection of fun eclectic art. But the thing that stood out most was the party atmosphere which was picking up on a Saturday night. People seemed to be choosing songs from a modern day jukebox and then dancing away to their own favourite tunes. The acoustics in the room was excellent which meant everyone could enjoy the great music at a decent volume. I decided to stick around for a few more coldies and try their Doot Burger. Yum! So well done Dotta Galla. I would highly recommend this very special Pub and I will definitely be back.
On Mother’s Day 2021 a large group of us dined at The Doutta. The food was delicious and the waiting staff were excellent however I cannot say the same for the gentleman that was overseeing our table. A portion of our party ordered via the QR code which froze. This resulted in the meals being served at least a half hour after the rest of the group had completely finished. I can accept the technical errors however the said gentleman did not offer any form of apology or offer any form of recompense. To make matters worse up at the bar this same gentleman took a phone call in the middle of my coffee order. One of the orders was then forgotten and only after complaining did it arrive. He soured what would have been a great experience
My partner and I stopped for a drink on Tuesday afternoon, we were the only people in and after waiting 20 minutes for a mediocre cocktail I went to the bathroom.
The bathroom floor was covered in dead flies, major hygiene concerns: (
Consistent quality hospitality from all staff extremely welcoming. Relaxing environment, delicious steaks and great selection of tap ales. One of my favourite spots to relax.
We recently had Doutta Galla host our event and we were so pleased with how everything went! Such friendly staff, the food was amazing and the venue was superb! Looking forward to having our next party there too:)
Been going here for twenty something years every Anzac day for a reunion and seen many changes. This year the food and service was very good and most people of a large group were happy with their meals, with one exception. My partners risotto was late and was average at best, so lost a star.
Really nice bar, respectful staff and good beer. Lovely pool table and really attractive lighting. Definitely going back
Would be a higher rating, but aircon was turned down way too cold. Parma was pretty decent (big as well), let down only by lack of chips and they went a bit soggy under the chicken
They have a great mirror on their wall. Pool table and pub feeds, snazzy little watering hole full of fun.
From a dining perspective: for a pub the meals aren't the "cheapest" but it's more than made up for by the size and quality of the meals.
Currently with covid changes, food and drinks can be ordered from your table with a QR link.
Ah magnificent local pub.
Was very quiet for a post lock down Friday lunch
Do yourself a favour.parma great chicken burger great. Steak sandwiches always special
