Dosa Cafe Hawthorn reviews
69 Had one of the worst veg biryani ever, and also the worst paneer Manchurian.
In short, never eating there ever again.
Ordered delivery via door-dash app. This app did not have the item Cheese Dosa and only had chilli cheese Dosa.
Ordered 2 of those for our kids with specific instructions saying “for kids- so pls no chilies and only cheese in Dosa”
Food arrived with 2 chilli dosas with both Dosas soaked with ton of oil in each.
Also ordered a chicken biryani “dum” style. It’s no where even close to some of melbournes dum style biryanis.
Although I appreciate they re-delivered the dosas with no chillies the dosas were absolutely soaked with ton of oil.
Not the best experience at all! Sorry guys.
Ordered Biryani, Idli & Manchurian. Food was shocking quality wise and also felt like just reheated and given. Not ordering again. Really bad experience
Have amazing chicken lollipops but only comes in 5 per serve. Amd no they dont make six evem if your willing to pay extra
Many Dosa options are available. A must visit place, if you craving for indianised Chinese food. Service is reasonably good and fast.
I had their Veg Biryani a couple of years ago and it was good. However, I again ordered the Veg. Biryani last night and it was the worse Biryani I have ever had.
And when I raised my concerns, the waitress told me that she asked the chef and he said that, that's how they make it and didnt even apologize or take any effort in ensuring that I didn't feel so bad about my Biryani.
The Biryani itself was absolutely bland with no flavours.
Wouldn't recommend the food nor the service!
Tried mixed vegetable gravy, dal makhni and peas pulao. Service was quick, staff very friendly and overall a good lunch. Dal makhni was especially delicious but pulao was quite oily.
I love this place! The breads are the best I have ever had anywhere. The vegetarian curries are especially good and the service is excellent. Please keep up the great job you are doing! I hope to continue eating here for many years to come.
Legit Indian food! One of my go to places, food is quick, authentic and delicious. Recommend the masala dosa:)
My friend and I were on a hurry, We ordered two Chicken Biryani with Coke, Order was served in less than 5 minutes, and surprisingly the Biryani tasted exactly to our liking. The server was quick and accomodating. In the end it costed $40, So I would say it's a bit pricey.
My dosa lunch was soooo delicious! The saag dosa was crispy and the chutneys were perfect. I'll be back!
Loved the sambar idly a lot, enjoyed the soft and tasty idly. Sambar reminded me of a very famous South Indian idly/dosa vendor in India.
Pricey for the quality and quantity of food. We ordered Dal makhani and it wasn't garnished at all. Could improve on presentation. Also I was over charged as the specials were not reflected on the bill.
Good ambience with excellent customer service. Food was amazing and tasty but the quantity was less. Highly recommended for South Indian food!
Very very casual restaurant (like KFC or McDonalds). Not suitable for events. Too many fat slobs in tracksuit pants, food being served on plastic trays, babies in prams, and generally unpleasant atmosphere. They need to enforce a dress code here, and try get nice clientele.
I had a briyani and it was microwaved.some parts cold.i told them and they brought exact same thing with microwaving again.
Poor customer service.the serving girl is not professionally trained. Food is ok not same as before. Need more improvement.
Samosa was incredibly spicy, curry was also too spicy. Naan was ok, but nothing special. Go here of you want spicy and relatively cheap indian food, and don't have too high expectations.
Great place to grab a nice hot Masala Dosa that stays original to its roots.
It also has the best Biriyani I’ve tasted in Melbourne. The meat was melting off the bones!
