Din Tai Fung reviews
61Something happened to this restaurant it was amazing when it first opened. But the menu has since changed and some of the dishes are just downright weird. The xiaolongbao is so small, and the knot of the bao is gooey. They don't give you sauce dish even though each table has instructions showing picture of dipping the bao in sauce. The vinegar they use is completely wrong. The XO fried rice now has fried chicken in it? The food makes no sense.
Great place to celebrate with family & friends. The only thing that shouldn't be charged when we bought a small birthday cake, should be free of charge for the celebrant. A bit disappointed.
I feel the place has declined over the past few years. Service is an area the business will need to improve on as one or two of the staff members are not suitable for customer interaction.
Food is a little better than what you could buy at a food court.
Meh. Most of the dumplings we had were mediocre to good. Fried beans and pork was very nice. Fried chicken strips were undercooked and we had too send them back.
I got the feeling that good prep was rushed and so not as nice as it could have been.
Wait staff were excellent.
This popular restaurant has great QR code booking system. The notification tells how many people before us and how long is wait time. Sms notification and staff will call when the table is ready while shopping
Robot took us to the table and ordered via tablet.
Awosome food and relaxing Sunday lunch.
Yesterday, the family came to this famous chain store of Guantang Xiaolongbao, but we will make an objective evaluation on the ingredients themselves. The taste of the ingredients is very different from my two stores in Shenzhen and Singapore. What surprised me even more was that the roast duck I ordered was processed from semi-finished products. If it is not freshly baked, it can be specified in the menu. The xiao long bao was also lukewarm and the skin was dry. It's really hard to imagine this being freshly made. It can't bring out the color and fragrance of food at all. But the standard of service is good, and there are small robots to guide the seats. It can be said to be very novel. I hope the store can pay more attention to the taste of the ingredients themselves, and use the name "Din Tai Fung". Thank you!
Used to be my go-to Chinese restaurant before Covid-19 hits. Not sure what happened but the quality and taste seem to drop massively in the last 2 visits. Xiao long bao came in disoriented shape and smaller than usual, prawn fried rice was tasteless, prawn ha gao had this weird smell in it. The staff was actually nice enough to refund the ha gao. Might give it another go or i’ll change to crystal jade as my usual place.
I was craving yum cha and decided to for to Din tai fung. It was great quality dumplings and xiao long bai but still craved yum cha afterwards.
Pretty pricey in my books.
The vegetable dumpling soup is flavourless and pale. Try a Ramen place or Tim Ho Wan for flavour. The seafood dumplings were full and rich. Prawn pancake with the colourful sweet sauce were a different take. Nice.
Good company, great food but as it was yum cha we learnt not to order for the whole luncheon in 1 go as they cook it at the same time and bring it straight to table when cooked. Some yum cha premises bring baskets of food around and you can pick what you want as you want it, others you order it freshly made and get it to you or your table of guests very quickly so do not over order
I was so looking forward to eating at this place as the one in Singapore was nice. But I was a bit disappointed. The vegetarian wanton wasn’t very nice, and the noodle soup is very bland. The spicy spinach noodle is slightly better. Sesame ice cream was the best.
We took away the vegetable buns, and they tasted average. Seems like the fillings for the wantons and buns are the same.
A popular dim sum chain from Taiwan. I’ve tried din tai fungs around the world and this one was quite average. The food quality and customer service doesn’t compare to other stores. However I think it is a fairly reliable and safe choice for a dim sum meal.
Delicious! Great service, really accessible, nice atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!
It's fully wheelchair accessible with wheelchair accessible toilets.
The restaurant is quite spacious with a nice modern interior and the dining experience is slightly similar to yumcha.we highly recommend the soup dumplings (ofc) and their egg fried rice with shredded beef & truffle oil.the soup dumplings here are flavourful and juicy, definitely try out this place if youre craving xiao long baos!
One of the best places for dumplings and other Taiwanese dishes. Also very family friendly. Highly recommend the Xiao Long Bao.
The food is average at best. Dumplings are ok, but not comparable at all to those in Taiwan's (or even Hong Kong's) Din Tai Fung. Staff is friendly, but I won't come back again.
Never bring the food on time irrespective of the number of requests to follow up in our order. Food is about a 4 out of 10.
One of the best dumplings restaurants you can find! I always get the pork chop fried rice, xiao long bao, spicy pork & prawn wontons, hot & spicy soup. Service is always great and efficient.
Bland and insipid! This is so different from the chain restaurant overseas. Menu options are limited. It doesn’t have an authentic taste. None of us intend to return.
Consistently the same the world over. Din tai fung have dumplings and small snacks down to a fine art. Nice to know that anywhere you are in the world, the food will be excellent
