One of the best, and most insightful AOD programs, mental health programs and facilitators. They understand and acknowledge the connection between mental health and addiction, which very few detox's and other rehabs do. Would highly recommend to anyone struggling with mental health or addiction issues.

I really should have looked at these reviews before going through with my referral…. For a place like this the reception is actually disgusting. They were rude, standoffish and couldn’t be further from helpful. Good luck to anyone here

My experience with consulting suites was very negative. But my experience with day program groups, especially the Youth Services was very positive. The psychiatrists can be very prescriptive and quick to give medications and lack any empathy. But my experiences with the experienced group therapists, specifically for the Young Adults Program, were very helpful and effectively saved me from my severe suicidal tendencies. The place is queer friendly. The food is alot better now. Each week it gives me a space that is non judgemental, tolerant and accepting of me expressing any kind of experiences I've went through. It is an important cornerstone to help people struggling with social isolation, a lack of healthy environments to talk about their experiences regularly, and a wonderful place to build deep connections with the people in your groups.

If anyone has adhd and they wanna benefit themselves, STAY AWAY FROM DELMONT, I when there for 2 years only to give me medication that doesn't work and also just keep putting me onto stronger medication which cut down my appetite extremely, kept telling doctor manuwadu to help me with that but he's pretty arrogant and kept consisting with he's own methods!
Would make me go there every 2-3 months for just 10 minutes at the time so I can just get my new script which thats not enought time to fix anyone. Also its quite the distance from where I currently live! I've told him about my anger issues and I asked him if I may have bipolar? And he said yeah probably but it's too soon to tell! Like they want me to completely break down before they diced to help me in another way! Anyways I've left this place and looking for a new doctor currently cause last time I called this place up and explained to them I has lost my script! The lady at the front counter said they can't do anything about it and to suffer till my next appointment like wow!

Refer to day hospital administration. I didn't end up being admitted to day clinic as I specifically required arts therapy, I wasn't interested in CBT and was advised I could not attend the arts therapy courses as they were on another level in the building. Why? I could not be admitted into any course that ran on any level of the building except the entrance level, as I was using a walking stick, and they could not look after me in case of fire. There are rails, and my stick is used intermittently when needed, and it doesn't prevent from walking. Wow, ill health, feeling vulnerable and told no, we can't help you. BTW, the admin tried to go ahead and book me into classes I didn't want. Good thing I saved that excess $$$$. Sadly, if you can get through this, the courses are pretty good.

The reception staff are bullies. When I ask any question like to book an appointment they either snap at me or laugh? If I smile at them politely they just get more aggressive. I never feel like a valued customer or even like a human, it's like being churned out on a conveyer belt. Rude, paternalistic services.

I’m seeing their mental health community nurse and every time they come 20 minutes late. You have to sit and wait around constantly. Over the slack approach. What is the point of coming if you never turn up on time. More stress than it’s worth

No matter how good or how bad we write reviews of this hospital and their receptionists. They won't care because they have plenty of patients wanting to see them, since the pandemic lockdown more and more Victorian are having psychological issues and desperate to find a doctor. However their arrogance and "don't care" attitude are getter worse. I waited two months to get a phone call from them saying that before seeing a doctor for ADHD you need a school report no matter is you are 20 or 60. Wow.who will bother waiting for a few months and pay $480+ to see a psychiatrist if they don't have issue? And how do you expect a 60 year old keeping his school report for 40+ years for the purpose of seeing a psychiatrist!

5 weeks waiting for an appointment to be scheduled, called twice, referral says suicidal.
These people should be disbarred.

I have been coming to Delmont for over 10 years and from the hundreds of patients I’ve spoken with who have been in every psychiatric hospital in the state and they consistently say that this is the best hospital. If you want sympathy then go somewhere else because all sympathy is, is dragging you out of the gutter. If you are looking for the very best treatment then come here. You will find the staff from cleaning and catering (food is amazing) through to all the clinical staff are second to none. If you want empathy which is extending a hand to help you out of the gutter then you’re in the right place. Mental illness is for life and the medication you are prescribed will only help manage your illness. I also have ECT and the staff are so very caring. I can’t understand the negative reviews, I would say those are the sympathy patients who simply can’t find the magic bullet. No pill will do that but rather help you manage the symptoms. There are so many terrific programmes which help to better equip you for life outside the hospital. My doctor is Dr Drysdale who has years of experience and really takes care of me. This place has literally SAVED my LIFE.

I visited the private hospital to see a psychiatrist and they have some of the rudest old workers on reception they have the worst attitude I’ve ever come across in customer service

It's not perfect, but I have had overall positive experiences at the day programs over the past year, and seeing a psychiatrist over the past year and a half.
Dr Ilina Tzolova is a brilliant psychiatrist! She always listens to me and asks clarifying questions rather than making assumptions or jumping to conclusions. When she prescribes medications, she evaluates risks and starts small and slow to monitor for side effects. Seeing her has been extremely helpful in receiving treatment for my C-PTSD, and management of my ADHD traits.
I have had mixed experiences at the day programs. However, the challenging and distressing experiences I have had with therapies and/or practitioners has been responded to mostly well. Overall, the day programs are helpful. Occasionally I found practitioners could be blinded by their own prejudices about my conditions, which interfered with their capacity to understand and validate my experiences. However, I have never felt as though a practitioner did not care about my wellbeing, or that they weren't doing everything within their means to help me.
I have also had mostly positive experiences as an Autistic/ADHDer, particularly in creating neurodiversity-affirming learning environments. This has only ever been limited by the lack of awareness about the neurodivergent people as a marginalised group and our collective medical trauma, particularly the traumas that drive masking behaviours. However, I can see this is already changing and I have seen how much work practitioners are doing to make spaces as accessible, inclusive, and affirming as possible.
For my most recent admission to day program, I was asked my pronouns to go on record, which was extremely validating for me as a queer person.
Overall, I would recommend.

Dr Evan Peterson is a scumbag, he cancelled my psychiatrist appointment 2 days prior because im not vaxed, mind you i was on the waiting list for 3 months and told them when i booked the appointment i wasn't vaccinated. So they decided to just screw me around. Also the psych i was seeing before i was meant to see Evan, Dr Steven Jones abruptly decided to move interstate without any warning. Jones had me hooked on very strong drugs and left without any warning. I endured extreme withdrawals and ended up in a different hospital for treatment. THE PSYCHIATRISTS AT DELMONT ARE HORRIBLE ONLY EVER HAD BAD EXPERIENCES WOULD NOT RECCOMEND AT ALL!

For a private hospital with specialist services, their customer service and scheduling is appalling. There is no benefit public or private, it's all the same poorly managed scheduling for the sake of making more money. Fitting in too many patients and not factoring in time.

We waited 1h to see one of the doctors, 1h and turned out other patients were given our timeslot even after we had advised of slight delays and arrived as planned. The receptionists were rude when we asked why it was taking so long and clearly because they were running behind themselves on apppintments due to poor scheduling. And we were seen for only 10min!

If 0 stars could be awarded they would be.
After waiting 2 months my referral was declined. So my Dr.resent a new one worded differently got a call within a week. After making an appointment 5 months in advance was then asked if I was vaccinated and told I couldn't get any help because I wasn't. No exemption because of my circumstances nothing. I was told it was the individual drs.choice and no one would see me, I then told the women who knows if the mandates will even be a thing in 5 months and I was hung up on.

I wouldn't go here if they paid me now. After looking at some of the other reviews I realise I'm certainly not the only one and sometimes private practices pick and choose and don't care at what human expense as long as they get there pay checks. Gladly going else where to hand my money over to someone who isn't judgemental and actually cares about there patients regardless of there unforeseen circumstances.

I would look else where people the average of 2 stars says it all.

The Hartwell staff are babysitters and don't know how to support patients with Borderline Personality disorder or ADHD and Anxiety disorders
The Ashwood staff, most staff are extremely able to support patients who have the above mental health disorders I was impressed that the staff followed through on my extreme anxiety and mental health illnesses, changes in medication as opposed to the staff in Hartwell who totally failed in the above areas which was incompetent patient care.

Nurses go absolutely above and beyond to care for you. Doctors pick up on everything and treat you properly. Food is good home style quality. Classes are relevant and helpful, and Art Therapy was great. If you are one of the 1 in 5 Australians suffering from a mental health difficulty I can't recommend Delmont Hospital enough. They helped me improve significantly

Avoid at all costs. The psychiatrist I saw here was the first and only doctor out of the many I've seen that I dislike. Extremely rude and couldn't care less about his patients. Completely uninterested during consult and only wants to write you a script before rushing you out.

He's also almost never punctual, has had me waiting for over 30mins in the past yet always rushes me out of the office 10 mins into a 30 min appointment. So I booked in for a 15min session instead which resulted in me getting told I would only get 'a few minutes'.

Never confirmed my diagnosis and just prescribed me medications because I told him I suspect I have this condition. Total waste of time and money. I've spent hundreds of dollars taking Non PBS medications that made me feel worse and didn't even do anything as my diagnosis was never really even made.

Being a health care worker myself, I know this level of professionalism is completely unacceptable. Save yourself the time and find a doctor who doesn't just see his patients as money cows.

I had an appointment booked two months in advance and contacted the clinic via email to get more details closer to the date. I was informed that my appointment had not been booked, despite it having been confirmed over the phone and that they couldn't help me any further. Someone named Pauline suggested I may have gotten the clinic confused with another and that I should ring up other places and check. It must be very easy to dismiss someone seeking mental health care as confused and unreliable even though that isn't my case. To be gaslighted this way by a mental health clinic is beyond absurd especially since I only contacted the one clinic, and I'm 100% sure an appointment was booked. Rather than admitting the error was on their part they instead decided to make me question myself. Very irresponsible and unprofessional behaviour. I suggest training your customer service staff up properly as you are dealing with lives here. I've waited two months in vain. I don't recommend this place to anyone.
