Dawson reviews
69Had a couple of pizzas for lunch and I have to say they were really nice. Not wood fired, but the next best thing. And the staff were all just so nice and helpful. The place was full of business lunches, which I found quite funny, but it didn't detract.
Great lunch at Dawson. Requested a window table which was perfect for my grandma. Everything tasted delicious and our waiter was very nice and attentive. They had a function upstairs which looked great as well for anyone looking for a small intimate gathering. Beautiful decor as well at Dawson. I wish they had a bigger dessert menu though.
We've been to Dawson several times and each time the service is really good with friendly staff. I do prefer if they have more brunch breakfast dishes during the day. Woodfire pizza here is really good, thin base and lots of ingredients. Calamari salad is really good, something light and easy to eat for lunch. Sourdoughs served in the avo toast and eggs benny is sometimes difficult to cut, so do recommend you ask the staff for a sharper knife. Overall very nice restaurant
Always a good meeting place in Kew. Excellent food with plenty of variety. Service always cheerful and helpful.
Consistently reliable food and service. Generous serving sizes, and a menu with something for everyone.
Have been twice over recent weeks. A really good experience both times. I had prawns with spaghetti which was excellent. Friendly competent staff.
Had an amazing time here! The bottomless brunch was great and you well and truly get your money's worth. The food was delicious and so were the drinks, which came out quickly too!
Discovered Dawson Eatery & Bar quite by accident, and were so glad we did. Excellent service, first-class food, and an overall experience that’ll have us coming back. Do yourself a favour, and give Dawson Eatery & Bar a go. You’ll not regret it.
Everything tasted great at this place. My favourite was the beef brisket pasta. The karate chicken was delicious too. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Incompetent! Got my order wrong twice and made poor excuses that a pesto and a ragu are similar and get mixed up all the time. When they finally gave me my order, after waiting 40minutes at the door, the pasta wasn’t even cooked properly.
Delicious fresh food and yummy drinks! Fast service and lovely staff too. Thank you for having us and for the dessert we will be back!
Wicked pizza's
Do yourself a favour and try potatoes and garlic pizza you'll be pleasantly surprised!
Had an excellent lunch at Dawson Eatery & Bar in Kew the other weekend. Came in just ahead of the lunchtime rush and sat at a sunny table on the mezzanine level. There were tasty burger and pizzas to tempt us but I had heard really good things about their prawn spaghetti so we just had to try. Very tasty and generous on the prawns. The flash fried calamari was lite and tender sitting on a bed of rocket. A couple sitting close buy both ordered this dish so must be a hit with the locals. We also tried a couple of the smaller dishes (anchovy toast and some prosciutto with pickes). They all came out at the same time as the larger ones giving us a fab feast of flavours.
If you like sweet then definitely save a little room for the cannoli… we tried the tiramisu flavoured one but also liked the fresh sound of the limoncello.
Really enjoyable lunch with good friendly service and a great cocktail list if that’s what you’re after.
Tasty, reliable food - both for takeaway and dine in. Service is friendly and fast, and a nice spacious setting in these socially distanced times. Worth checking out!
Not impressed, pizza was nice though, brunch was soso. Staff needs to learn more about customer service. Asked tissues and she left on the plate that had food on it and over the food. ️
Would be my first and last visit.
Lovely staff and service can't be beaten. Coffee is great. Food wasn't quite to the Melbourne standard I've (sadly!) become used to. I had the mafaldine beef ragu and it just didn't quite work for me. It kinda tasted a bit middle of the road. Maybe it was just me! ️
Coffee was underwhelming. Perhaps I should have asked for a strong cap. The chilli eggs were actually delicious and the service was quick and friendly. Would go back for sure
I’ve eaten here with my partner 30+ times - the food is always good. The service is always exceptional. Get Big Breakfast / you won’t regret it. They cater well to gluten and lactose free patrons. Amazing food!
$10 margarita pizza and drinks on Mondays.
No kids menu so that means no children so you can enjoy your meal in peace of you like that kind of thing.
Great hot chocolate size, but soft drinks come in a glass, so not sure if you are getting the whole can or shared. Not a problem for me, as I like to chomp on the ice.
Dined here for weekend brunch. We ordered the Eggs Benny and Big Breakfasts. The serves are very generous and we usually share, the waiters offered to split it between two plates for us. The eggs were all poached perfectly and the benny was delicious served with ample Istra bacon, a Dr Marty's Crumpet, shredded green apple and Yuzu hollandaise. The serving pictured is only half - you get 2 eggs, crumpets and toppings. Coffee is great too. Have previously dined for dinner and enjoyed the high standard and presentation of food and desserts.
