David Jones

Very little staff on the floor this morning. Interacted with two staff members one of which looked incredibly irritated and downright told me to go find someone else. The second staff member at the menswear register told me a shirt I was going to buy was not on sale. I left it there and then checking the DJ website I found the very same shirt discounted for both online and in person sales. Seems like they don't like doing business

Great range of goods and items and staff willing to help out to make the shopping experience pleasant in these crazy face covered times. Prices also very reasonable.

I was instore recently looking at the range of men's suits on offer. My son has his formal coming up and, never having bought a suit before, we were both completely overwhelmed. We were approached by Adrian in the menswear department who, having clearly understood our dilemma, proceeded to put together an outfit being mindful of both my son's taste and my budget. He listened, was helpful and extremely patient. To say he went above and beyond is somewhat of an understatement. Having worked in retail most of my life I feel this type of service, unfortunately rare these days, must be acknowledged. Well done Adrian and Thankyou!

The counter lady/DJ staff on level 1 (kitchen appliances area) is rude and not helpful. Having watched me standing for circa 10 mins waiting to pay for my items, did nothing but kept talking to other customers. Then she had to drop some stuff at the counter, couldn’t ignore me and asked me ‘is anyone serving you? ’. Not even a proper ‘hello’/‘’hi’, let alone ‘sorry to keep you waiting’ or ‘I will get someone to help you’. How rude? It was late evening and there were only 3 people (2 other customers and herself/ the DJ staff) around, is it really hard to tell there is no one else helping me? Will never come to this DJ to buy kitchen stuff. The customer service is absolutely appalling and the worst out of all DJ stores I have visited in Victoria. Very disappointed

Recently had a return to take back to David Jones, it was a Ralph Lauren leggings for my daughter which she didn’t like.
Went in with leggings and receipt, to the kids clothing cashier which she said please go to the Ralph Lauren section as she can’t deal with me.

Fair enough off I go to the actual spot with no one to be seen at the register or kids Ralph Lauren section. I kindly go back to the lady and ask if she could call someone for me as she could seen I waited a while at the register and said no one is around. She said no go walk up there and see. Pointing to the men section so off I go again getting really annoyed now as I have spent 10 mins dealing with this lady who really doesn’t want to help me.

After walking and really not getting anywhere I then proceeded to go elsewhere and ended up going to the toy section register to the most loveliest lady who said it was fine she could put it through for me at this register the return. She was so lovely I could of cried after dealing with that other lady who was so unhelpful to the one that was just what all customer service cashier should be like. Respectful and helpful:)

If I ever do decide to shop at David Jones I would avoid going through this lady register the kids seed/country road because of the service she gave but I’m so grateful I got a lovely lady in the end as I would of been quite angry in the end.

Love to shop at David Jones Doncaster. The store have lots of variety of products very friendly customer service and best of all coved safe they have taken all appropriate measures to keep their customers safe

Nobody at counter to assist. Staff member had to come from another department to assist me. Store didn't want to refund a product purchased online that didn't work, they wanted to send it away to be diagnosed. Manager finally agreed to refund after expressing how annoyed I was. I bought the product from David Jones over the small online stores because I thought it was safer if there was an issues.

I was going to complain about a negative experience, but I was wrong. I received excellent and honest advice (which actually sent me somewhere else), and then received super help from George purchasing a suit. Well done team.

Love shopping at David Jones. They have a wide selection of goods, friendly staff, and some great sale items. I also take advantage of free gift wrapping for DJ members. It makes gifts look so gorgeous.

Went to test a mattress recently. I didn't really need help, but started chatting with a saleswoman who came along. She wasn't very knowledgeable, but was polite and was trying a little bit too hard it turned out. Experts advise to take your time on the mattress you test, which isn't very easy to do when someone is watching over you expecting you to choose one after testing 2-3 in 10mins. What really annoyed me is her piece of life advice when I thanked her for her time and said I'll be back before the sale ends if I decide to buy it: "Life is too short to be worrying about a mattress. Buy it today and you' won't have to think about it any more". I didn't realise she was being pushy at the time, but to think she didn't know the specs properly that I had to check online instead, and her warranty claims were overrated, she was only good at one thing really.

Had to help my friend with a dress that she could not get on. Walked into the fitting rooms which had no signs of being gender specific and was yelled at by a David Jones team member. The team member offered no help to my friend despite being 3 of them standing at the counter chatting. Never shopping at David Jones after this. This was discrimination and poor handling of a situation.

Payed for a Christmas tree, ordered it in store to be delivered to my house, a week later received an email saying it was no longer available. A refund was never followed up, now I’ve been chasing up this refund for myself. Horrible service felt like they just wanted a quick sale to go to the store. I regret not going to another David Jones.

Ordered Tefal non stick pans on sale online. Everything went smoothly. User friendly and clear. Free delivery limit is very reasonable. I discovered Myer has the same items for 50% off after placing the order. I received a priced match refund to my account straight away. So impressed. Very classy act. I'd recommend with confidence to trust David Jones for your future purchases.

Worst DJ I’ve been to, ticketed price is different to the price that they charged me at the counter, and explained the price haven’t updated and try charged me at the counter price.

An employee wearing an orange vest followed me through out the store which gave me an impression that she suspected that I am a thief. It was a very uncomfortable and an embarrassing visit. I went to the register and and the lady kept asking me where I got my gift cards as I wanted to use a few during my transaction (it was none of her business)

The Doncaster David Jones needs to reevaluate its workers and the service they provide. I won't be going back there anymore.

Online experience is horrible. I ordered a Mac and they asked me to provide the copies of my credit card and ID. Even if I gave them those information, they still cancelled my order. Ridiculous! What a waste of time!
But what can I say? The comments on productreview.com are unsurprisingly negative with only 1.4 STAR! If you care about your privacy and time, you'd better avoid DJ at all cost.

Hand bags Marc Jacobs area - on Friday, we were looking for a present for my daughter. The two ladies were a bit dismissive of a potential sale even though the online click and collect system showed the product we were looking for was only available at this store. System error, apparently. Too hard to go out the back to look. Ah well, instead we bought another bag from a different store.

Very bad customer service in kid’s wear. They talking rude with the customers and very slow and giving wrong information and make the customer’s confuse. Very very very rude. Not even deserve 1 star.
