Awesome DJ's with really, really helpful staff. I had an awesome experience earlier today with over the top customer service that left me walking away with what I wanted and at a sale price. Thanks again

The service at David Jones is usually pretty good. Especially in the homeware department. Friendly staff, lots of parking, and what I love is that DJ does prove matching.
Love it.

The packaged vegetables (particularly the mint and chive butter greens) are amazing and well worth it. So much time saving and zero trade off as they are fresh and healthy. Schnitzels are fabulous as well. Very well worth it.

David Jones has become very quiet of late. Perhaps many shoppers are voting with their feet, sick of high prices and poor customer service.

Why on Earth you changed your pain au chocolat to a gaint un tasty one? You used to have one of the best pain au chocolat. The new one is just huge, barely have chocolate and the chocolate doesn’t taste good at all. So disappointing:/

Horrible customer service. In the baby department staff on last night avoided eye contact at all cost so that you wouldn't have an opportunity to ask for assistance. In the shoe department same issue hoevere as soon as people wanted to pay for a product all of the sudden there were 3 staff members at the register. Another staff member at the register looked over while serving a customer and commented to the other customer " mums day out, no mum goes back to work anymore" uncessesary and inappropriate comment to be made to another customer. All in all I have never walked into a worse David Jones and management should really have a look into training their staff.

Total lack of customer service/consideration at cafe at Malvern Central. Spent ages waiting to order eventhough not many customers. Then we were told that we had to go to different counters to order coffee and hot food, so queued at one place for some items and then another for other items. Then the item listed on their glass display cabinet wasn't available. Staff couldn't give a stuff. What a ridiculous process, who thought that up should be fired. Hope DJ's read this. We went elsewhere. I am a big fan of DJ's but the brand is let down by the staff and stupid ordering process.

Is it just me or has big box, higher end retail declined to the point of irrelevance?

DJ's was once a pretty luxurious experience, certainly a step above the likes of Myer. It seems those days are well behind them. The attitude of the staff remains (needlessly superior), but it's all just a little shabby now. And not shabby chic, but shabby as in dirty around the edges.

Not a huge range, prices are reasonable though, and I suspect that (at least partially) accounts for their continued business. You do however get a sense that it's a race to the bottom.

Save your time and give your business to the many, many independent retailers in the area who provide a vastly superior experience in all regards.

I'm a long time regular customer of David Jones. Have lately had many troubles with more than 1 click and collect purchase and customer service when trying to apply my gift card to purchases in-store: (

Had the displeasure of calling up asking if a particular Dyson product is in stock. The lady who answered the phone was so unpleasant I could actually hear her eyes roll through the phone before she hung up on me, twice.

Ended up visiting the actual store and a waste of time it was as they didn’t have any in stock.

It’s a shame, the lady in small appliances was so very helpful and while being overworked, she was a great employee, going above and beyond - The same can’t be said about her colleague, and it really left a bitter taste as a consumer when shopping at DJ’s.

This store has a weird vibe about it. So many staff yet everyone looking down and never making eye contact doing their best to avoid you. It’s a pretty unwelcoming store really which is a shame as it has a great food court.

I found shopping in David Jones a very frustrating experience. Most items were not priced eg candles. When I asked an assistant she said "Oh they're around $35"!
It was hard to find anyone to help except in the bedding area. David Jones staff in other stores are definitely more friendly.
I will shop at Chadstone or Southland in future.

The cafe is fantastic, fresh juices, beautiful coffee and yummy sandwiches. The food court is fancy and lots of interesting options. The store is always clean. The staff are helpful. Although it’s a small David Jones is has everything you need.

I love this little DJ's. The staff are really lovely and always have a good chat with the girls in the skincare department and the ladies at the checkout. I get a parking space. While this DJ's isn't as big as CBD and Chadstone, it carries loads of lovely things like skincare shoes and handbags. And there's a DJ's food hall for a yummy coffee too.

Love the cafe here. Good range of sandwiches which are always fresh. Always very clean there must I add:)

Handy to have in the neighbourhood. Good enough range to usually allow me to avoid making a trip to the CBD or Chadstone.

Worst store worldwide. No service rude unhelpful staff if you can find them. Overpriced. Go anywhere but here

David Jones in Malvern Central is a wonderful store with David Jones Food shop next door. The shop is always very quiet with a wide variety of clothes, toys, kitchen appliances and shoes. The staff are nice and very helpful. Located on the Ground floor in Malvern Central. With a train station and 2 tram lines located near by it’s really easy to get to David Jones at Malvern Central.

Great store, the food court is sensational for a quick bite, coffee or some awesome take home meals, snacks and all sorts of goodies
