Da Guido La Pasta Melbourne

I typed best restaurants in Melbourne and Guido was in the list. So we decided to try as was my partner’s birthday and we wanted to go for a different place for dinner. Good atmosphere and super kind staff. Food is 10 out of 10. The first spoon, we look at each other like.this is delicious! Gnocchi was from another planet, it melts in your mouth, the Maccheroni alla Calabrese I had was fantastic, full of flavour. Thanks to the Chefs for such a good food.

Wow, fantastic modern Italian! Just what you need to remind yourself how much you miss travelling. It's a piece of Italy in your own town, wonderful!

Excellent service and food. The restaurant was cozy and had a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend the cheese board and the tiramisu.

The environment is very nice, well organized, with pleasant decoration and candlelit tables.
The music played was good, at a suitable volume.
The food is very tasty.
When ordering the dishes, the cheese was grated on the table, which was entertained.
For dessert we had a tiramissu which was wonderful.
There are many wine options in the restaurant for those who enjoy it.
The service was surprising, very good, I was received by Valerio and attended by Roberto who, in addition to the good service, speaks my mother language.
I really recomend this restaurant.

A pleasant surprise to have found this cozy italian down the not so busy end of Lygon. The decor was chic and cool, the lighting was cozy but not too dim, the ambiance is vibrant but not disturbing, good selection of wines, great wagyu steak and fruitti di mare pasta. The cantata for dessert which is a pear and almond tart was a winner. The best part for me is the service. We'll shall return.

A nice restaurant if you are a pasta fan, the staff are friendly and professional. The place is clean and the food is genuine and delicious and there is a good variety of drinks. You might need to book in advance particularly in busy days. I enjoyed the whole experience.

Good quality but small portions. Good wine came in handy and we laughed alot about the small portions.

The service was very friendly and most accommodating. The food delicious, well priced, and delicious. I seldom give five stars but this place deserves them. They hosted our evolving party of 3-6 disappointed F1 fans very well.

The only real Italian restaurant in the street. You will recognizer by the fact that there no red and white table clothes and the owners and the staff are actually Italian. Pasta is amazing. Try the Fusillo vegan and the risotto con gamberi e asparagi. Trust me, I am Italian.

For my final dinner in Melbourne I tried Da Guido La Pasta in Lygon Street and was most impressed with the ambiance and decor of the restaurant with touches of Morano glassware and accents. The service staff was excellent and I was most comfortable to take recommendations.

I ordered the Insalata Rucolo and Risottto Afumicato Gambieri and the dishes were exquisite. I had Victorian Shiraz to moisten my palate with sparkling water and was offered Aperitivo.

Following on from my dishes I closed with a cheese platter and an Italian dessert wine and that was wonderful. This was my favourite most memorable Melbourne dining experience! Highly recommended with excellence!

Beautiful restaurant with a lovely ambience. Great food with excellent staff. Sometimes the music is not in keeping with the environment, but still definitely one of the best places in Melbourne for dinner!

Poor service. Their website menu shows two prices, asked for smaller size as per website and they refused, saying they changed their hardcopy menu. The waiter was not even willing to go in to ask.

I cannot finish a larger portion and am travelling away from Melbourne tomorrow. Their unwillingness to compromise or honour their website menu is disappointing. Will not be back.

Update your website if you can't stand by it.

La cucina è a vista e crea un atmosfera calda e famigliare, tutto dalla scelta dei bicchieri in vetro di murano alla scelta dei vini è curato nel dettaglio, abbiamo cenato diverse volte provando piatti diversi trovandoci sempre bene.
For everyone who loves true italian food and flavour this is the right restaurant. The cosy vibe with the open kitchen on the floor makes you feel your are eating in an Italian home, I’ve been few times and it always delivers great atmosphere and food! Highly recommend.

Authentic Italian pasta.
Steak was good.
Chicken main course done with love.

Good, fresh food including gluten-free options and lovely staff. The complementary soup that comes with each meal is a treat. A basic but good selection of reasonably priced wine. The outdoor tables are a great place to sit and eat and enjoy Lygon Street while also being sheltered from the sun and rain. Highly recommended.

Trendy place, with a very welcoming atmosphere and smiling staff. Quality was excellent. Prices on the higher side but you get every cent's worth

Right in Lygon St, this place has a limited menu but great tasting Italian food. I ordered the spinach ravioli with truffle oil and pear salad. The salad didn’t have enough dressing but they brought out more balsamic and olive oil to compensate. Overall gave it 4 stars given the quality flavors and excellent service. Also had a bonus veggie soup on the house!

The food and service reminds me in authentic Italian in Italy. Best Italian restaurant so far in Melbourne.

I don't normally leave reviews (good or bad) however i found myself committing to post one (after a kind request) by a gentleman that came over and asked about our dining experience (straight after I'd fixed the bill and I'd tipped about 30% so this may have been an influence!)
Never the less the meals were delicious, service was excellent.
I introduced locals to this place who were a massive fan, so I'm sure they'll be back.

Authentic Italian. Must try restaurant. Thank you for your hospitality, service and quality dinner.
